Talking 2 days post op - I'm finally in boobieville!

Hello all! I'm so excited that I get to be sharing my story and not just reading about others! It all seems so strange to me, to be on the other side but here goes! If at any point it doesn't make sense, it's b/c I'm still on pain meds! ha

I couldn't sleep at all on Wed. night - I tossed and turned and would sleep but only short bursts at a time - how frustrating! I was HOPING desperately that I would just sleep straight through the night so I wouldn't have to think much about it! I gave up and got out of bed a little before 7am. Took a shower, fixed my hair, got everything aroudn that I would need (contact stuff, glasses, pillows, etc). I woke my DH up around 8 and we were on our way by 8:35. I had to be there by 9:15. I was surprised in the fact that I wasn't really that nervous - I was more nervous 5 days before surgery that I was on the way there! haha So we get to the office, I check in and sign some papers and we sit in the waiting room for about 10 min. or so. My DH and youngest daughter was with me, so we looked at some nature books and kept her entertained. They finally called my name and so we all went into the back pre-op area. The lovely nurse that was taking care of me went thru medical history etc. then the anesthesiologist came and we did the same thing again - and then my Dr came by, made sure he had everything right (incision placement, cc's, silicone, etc) and said he was off to change. Then my nurse came back and asked if I wanted to go to the bathroom b4 surgery, so I did and that's when my family left - I kissed them g'bye and said I love you and before I knew it I was on the operating table. The anesthesiologist (I have no idea if I'm spelling that write b/c I took a pain pill 30 min ago and everythings getting a bit fuzzy!) started my IV and asked me what I did - I explained that I was an NICU nurse and he and the Operating Nurse joked about how much they loved to work on nurses b/c we were so easy and compliant and they didn't have to explain everything over and over again. The Anesth. said he was giving me two dif. meds and the nurse was asking me about my kids and that's the last thing I remember. When I woke up, I was in the recovery room and all I could think about was the weird taste I had in my mouth - the nurse said it was from anesthesia. She also said my dh would be here soon. I remember my chest feeling heavy, but I didn't have a lot of pain. I guess I had some trouble with low blood pressure so I was a bit slow to wake up - she told me and DH to make sure that when I get up I move slowly so I didn't pass out. It's strange, but I remember everything from waking up for the most part. I remember most of the car ride home - how every little bump was painful! I felt a little sick in the car and kept saying "we're almost home, we're almost home" and I went straight to the bathroom when we got home so I could - that was the only time I've gotten sick since. I went to bed and everytime I woke up I would think "OH I have surgery today" but then I would move and realize "OH I already HAD surgery today" - it's funny that I completely forgot that I already had it done several times that day! haha I spent Thurs. and quite a bit of Fri. in bed. I'm feeling much better today - I just hate that the pain meds make my head so fuzzy. My DH has been wonderful in taking care of me - keeping track of my pain pills and bringing me water, food, etc. He's so wonderful!

Anyway, that's my story! I did have a panic moment yesterday b/c the girls are swollen and so squishy that I thought maybe the PS didn't put them under the muscle - so I called the office and asked to make sure! haha I figure people call all the time so who cares if I sound silly! But yes, they did put them under the muscle and so I felt much better hearing that! haha So I have 375 cc silicone unders and couldn't be happier! i can't wait for things to 'settle' down - wait a min. what am I talking about - I can't wait to SHOWER! haha Thanks for listening!
