Post No pain

This is my first time posting - on any forum. But I had my BA on Wednesday - 06/11 and I feel fine. Now I'm kind of worried after reading other posts. The day of the surgery I was up and walking around. I actually went to lunch with my husband after I left the hospital. Of course I just sat there - but I felt okay.
The second day I didn't do too much during the day, but I did make dinner for everyone and then went to a movie with a friend. Still felt okay - although I was getting shaky from all the meds.
So, on Friday I quit taking them. We had a party and I felt okay - made dinner (although honestly I had pre-prepped everything before the surgery so that I could take it easy). Showed my girlfriends my breasts - not even one bruise. I had 350cc (was an A - I think I'll be a small D), silicone gel unders.
Saturday I went out to Bisbee - it was Gay Pride weekend and we had a few drinks. I was out for about 5 hours and felt 100% fine.
Now it's Sunday - still feel okay - but I'm kind of worried. Is this normal? Why didn't it hurt? My theory is because previously I was a C - when I was breastfeeding and heavier - so I was already stretched out and the implant just filled in the space?? Did anyone else have the same experience?

Stats:
5'5", 120 pounds (okay probably more since I've been eating like a pig since Wednesday)
Very active - run an average of 30 miles a week, lift weights, ride bike, hike, aerobics, racquetball

Ya know, I kinda had the same experience. I read all of the other posts regarding post-op pain, and was worried about the horrible pain that I would be in. I prepared myself for the absolute worst, and when all was said and done, all I felt was pressure, really...but no pain. When I look at all of the other posts, I realize that everyone's pain tolerance is different. I know that it seems to be that the younger women have a harder time. Maybe because they haven't had children yet? I dunno, a lot comes with having a baby, not just the delivery pain, but with your breasts also, if you choose to breastfeed. Maybe we're just more "broken-in?" lol I think that for myself, I had two c-sections with my boys, and I had a horrible foot surgery. I'm starting to think that for me, and I can only speak for myself, pain is relative? In other words, my pain tolerance was different, due to the other surgeries I've had.

I don't really know if that's the answer....all I know is that I'm not complaining! lol

Congrats on your ba, and your lack of pain!

Thanks - I see that it's been 11 days for you. Have yours dropped yet? I'm trying to massage as often as possible to speed up the process.

They have dropped a bit. To be honest, though, I never really experienced the high "collar bone" swelling that a lot of women do. I had "torpedo boobies" though! lol They look totally different now, than they did the first few days. I've read a lot of other posts, and it seems to be the 3 to 5 week mark, that's the "magic" dropping time. Another thing to consider, is that my ps had me wear the band. I'm allowed to take it off on Wed. (2 week mark), but I don't know if maybe that has contributed to my experience with dropping/swelling? My ps said that some people just heal exceptionally well, and that I have been one of the fortunate ones. I didn't only have a ba, I also had a full lift, so if I was going to have pain, I would have! lol

If you're having some swelling, put some frozen peas on those suckers! That worked great for me...I was meticulous about it, and for some reason, it made them "settle down" and relax more just before bed. I did that for the first week. But, like you, I was off the percocet and on ibuprofen, by the end of the 2nd day.

Oh yeah, the massage thing! My ps gave me massage instructions along with my discharge instructions! They told me to LIGHTLY lol push the implant down and from side to side ten times per session. They advised me to do it as often as I could tolerate....HOWEVER, because of my lift, to NEVER push upward, which is what the "traditional" massage tells you to do. Well, I started with light massage the following day, and increased in pressure over the next few days. Today, I massage fairly often during the day....sometimes it just helps when my boob gets tight/hard after doing something. I dunno, massage, ice packs, genetics....I think it's a combination of everything, that determines how your experience is gonna go! lol

It's different for everyone. I never had any major pain from the BA. I DID have pain from the lipo (NEVER AGAIN!!). I'm still a bit sore from that and I believe that's where my bruising came from as well. I felt pressure and some tenderness, but nothing extreme. I did have a hard time using my arms for a few days though.

I think what was said earlier about younger girls (and older ones like me who have never had children) plays a part in it. There isn't as much stretching to do, your breasts may already be large enough to handle the majority of the implant, etc.

My PS actually told me before surgery that girls under 24 and older women have a longer recovery time.

Congrats on your BA. No worries, I was up in the grocery store the next morning, (no lifting) and in my daughter's class for a talent show in the afternoon. I was driving on the second day (no meds). I felt fine, just remembered to NOT LIFT anything for the first few weeks. Just remember you did just have surgery and you should take things slow and get some sleep if you feel you need it. HTH.

I think that pain tolerance is different for all women, but I really don't think it has to do with age. I'm 18 and never had surgery before (haven't even broken a bone) and the surgery and post op has been pretty easy so far. I stopped taking my pain medication yesterday at like noon and it was may 2nd day post op.

Maybe you're just one of the lucky ones.

All I can say is LUCKY DOG I'm on day 6 and finally feel good enough to do stuff. Consider yourself lucky for being able to move around so quickly without any problems. Just be careful and don't push your body too hard. The body needs time to heal....you did get it cut open!

Enjoy your new boobs!!
