Well, it has finally happened! I hopped on the train to Boobieville at 6:45 this morning, and I am feeling great!
I woke up early this morning because my AC was on and I was freezing, it was 4:30AM and I knew I would only have a half an hour left to sleep anyways, so I started getting ready. I had put aside my clothes for today, a button up sleeveless shirt (It is HOT today!) pull up pajama pants with penguins on them and a zip up jacket in case I got cold.I showered, and I took everyone's advice and just washed my entire body with antibacterial soap, I was worried because my normal bodywash is very thick and creamy with moisturizers (Caress, lol) so I didn't want anything that would stick to my skin and become a problem. I brushed my teeth super well because I just didn't feel very clean without my normal bodywash, some deodarant, baby powder, and lotion. I tried to use as little water as possible as instructed to rinse out my mouth which was a bit hard to do. Afterwards I dried myself with a towel I had just washed the night before and put my clothes on which were also washed the night before, can never be too careful I guess. My dad drove to the place and it was drizzling a little bit and traffic was not yet too terrible. Then we went into the waiting room and just stood around for a few minutes when I realized I had left my hair loose, so he braided it for me! LOL. My mom taught him how to braid hair when I was kid in case she was too busy to do my hair, and I was surprised he still knew how. I was laughing so much and I felt like a little kid, probably nerves, too. A nurse came out and talked the procedure over again with us, what time I was to be picked up, how many hours it would take, etc. etc. She then asked my dad if he would be her hairdresser sometime, lol. Then I was whisked into the back where I had to take a pee test, change into an open front paper gown, and put all my clothes and belongings into a little basket. The nurse took me back into the recovery room, which was empty except for a few people walking around, people meaning nurses and medical staff, I'm sure. She asked me a few questions, went over my health records, and chit chatted a little bit about where I go to college and what not. She also put a heart monitor on my finger and took my blood pressure. I was also given dramamine to prevent naseua. Soon after the anesthesiologist came in, spoke with me breifly I guess just to calm me down (I was a little bit nervous, not all over the place, but a little more quiet than usual.) And then was going to start the IV. He told me he was going to give me something to numb my hand, so in my head I said, "Yeah right" because I have always been under the impression that they only tell you that in case you are worried about the pain, but, no, he really did! My hand felt completley numb once the medicine started going in, although he was very good with the needle before it became numb. Then the IV came in, and that always feels weird and cold, even though it is room temperature. A little while later my PS came in, marked me up, and went over with me quickly my goals. Then he went somewhere else, probably to get washed and dressed, not sure. They rolled my into the OR, which was literally the door directly in front of me. It was a bit chilly in there. They had me lay down completley flat on the stretcher, and there was like this heating pad or something underneath, which was pretty cool. They then attatched the heart monitor to my finger again, as well as the band around my arm for the blood pressure. I remember the anesthesiologist telling me he was going to give me something to calm down before I fell asleep. I remember feeling a little bit dizzy, and asking if it was normal to feel dizzy and someone told me yes. The next I knew, I was in the same room I had begun in, and a nurse told me that everything was over and that I was in recovery. I couldn't believe it, it seemed more surreal and fast then when I had my tonsils removed! I also felt no pain, I just felt extremely dizzy and very tired. The nurse that I had in the beginning came by asking how I was feeling, and I said I was ready to go home. Everyone was surprised that I was so ok, and they told me I did not yell or fight with anyone to wake up, that one nurse that touched my arm and told me to wake up was it. I was more than shocked to say the least. I remember seeing the nurse and she wiped my mouth saying that there was something on it from the surgery, it felt like vaseline or something, not too sure. Then I asked her if I could have something to drink and she came back and gave me ginger ale. My parents came in after they called them, apparently they were waiting right outisde in the waiting room. The nurse helped me out of the bed to get dressed first, and then into the wheelchair. I was wheeled out to my car, and on my way home. I realized that my boobs and chest were just completley numb. Weird, it sort of felt like your face does after you get a tooth pulled and you can't feel a thing. Again, all's I felt was very tired and dizzy. Once home I did nothing but sleep for about 5 hours, give or take. My best friend called around 12 noon waking me up asking if I was ok, and I drearily said yes, and she was so exicted just to hear my voice and know that I was alright. I will have to call her back soon now that I can do more than just mumble. I just woke up from my never ending nap, and when I first woke up I felt a little sore and took some tylenol. I am still slightly sore, I would say moderate pain at best, not even that much, really. The only thing is that my chest feels like it's made out of iron! Most areas are still rather numb, it's only painful when I have to stand up and then lay down or something like that, but so far I don't think I will be needing the prescribed pain pills, at least I hope not. The muscle relaxers I should start tomorrow, I was told. I have eaten a few crackers and seltzer water, although I am starving. I feel like just eating a cheeseburger but that probably would end badly. ![]() I can't really see my boobs yet, but from the little I can see from underneath the strap, they look pretty much the same except for them being much bigger, and the clevage seems a bit closer together. I finally have my device card. My implants are as follows: Mentor Round Mod Plus Profile Saline 275cc implant filled to 310cc on the left and 300 on the right. I didn't think that they would be filled so big, and I also thought I was getting HP's. Interesting how it turns out. Let's see how it looks though! Overall I am ecstatic at how well my recovery is going so far, I hope it continues this way. Thank you to everyone who have helped me over the past year answering questions and giving support, there is no way I would have been so calm and prepared without all of you, and without Nikki's wonderful website. Thanks again. ![]() |
