The step I thought I'd NEVER make!!

Okay, it's been long enough I need to contribute to the ba story section..

I was never large breasted; maybe large B small C; that is until I became pregnant and nursed babies! Then I jumped up to a large C/small D. After I had my 2nd child I also lost 65 lbs and went from a size 16 to a size 2. Then I became preggo again (by surprise) and here I am at a size 6. Anyways, if anyone knows the ups and downs of breast size, it would be me! Fast forward to June 2008 and here we are:

The night before I slept pretty well. Dh and I woke up and took our 3 kids to my mom's house (she offered to watch them overnight so hubby could completely take care of me...which is something I NEVER thought she would do voluntarily)

We got to the hospital and I had to get my compression socks at the hospital's pharmacy. Then we went and registered and got into a room right away. My nurse was super nice and kept saying nice things about my ps, AND her name was the same as dh's so that helped put our minds at ease. I peed in the cup, changed into the gown, and sat and waited. Eventually she started my iv and had me lie down on the bed to relax. The anesthesia dr came in and asked me some medical ?'s. The nurse came back in and started my antibiotic in my iv. The ps then came in and drew on me. The nurse then started my happy juice in my iv and BOY does that work FAST! It was like 0-4 margarita's in 5 seconds! LOL!

The surgery room (male) nurse came in and put my lovely cap on my head and took a picture of hubby and I (we brought our camera) and I kissed dh and then were wheeled into the surgery room. My ps was standing waiting for me and they had me switch beds. A different anesthesiologist started talking to me and he added more happy juice to my iv (I guess I was talking more 'normally' than I should have been?). Then he asked about my kids and I remember saying they were 6, 4 and 1 and then I was OUT!

The next thing I remember is the male nurse was above my head and he abruptly placed his hands on my arms and said, "J, it's time to wake up!" and then I started crying. The nurse asked me on a scale of 1-10 if I was in pain and I said about 5-6; my sternum and armpits hurt the worst, and I really didn't feel any pressure. I started shaking; I was SO COLD so they gave me a warm blanket. My left arm was very numb and tingly and they said it was because of the way it was lying on the bed in surgery. It's funny because while I was waking up I could hear the 2 recovery room nurses talking about what they would like done if they had plastic surgery. Oh, something else that was nice was my recovery room nurse's name was the same as MY moms... neat, huh?!

Anyways, they wheeled me back in w/ my hubby and the nurse helped me get dressed. She sent dh to get the car and as she wheeled me down the hall to the exit she told me she had a tummy tuck by my ps and the nurses were offered a group discount by him and so some took him up on it.

I never once felt nauseas...I was so relieved about that!! I slept most of the 1st week! LOL! So there you have it, there is my story. I never thought I would have done this and at times I still can't believe I actually went through w/ it.
