Happy in AZ!!
I just wanted to say that I am so glad I found this site. My DH has been very supportive but everyone else I mention having a BA to looks at me like I am crazy! I am in my early 40's but this is something I have always wanted to do and it is great to have this forum to have the support that I needed.
Here is my story. My surgery was scheduled for 1pm on the 18th. The hospital called early wednesday morning and asked if we could be there at 10am for a noon surgery time. Off we went to the Piper Surgicenter. Everything went smooth once we arrived just needed to wait a bit. Then the nurse called me back put me in my gown and asked me some questions. My dh came back and we waited for Dr. Turkeltaub to arrive. He came in a made his marks and of course had a few jokes along with it. The anesthesiologist came in and increased the antibiotic drip and asked some more questions. I gave my dh a kiss and the next thing I knew the recovery nurse was telling me to take deep breaths! I had a little bit of pain on the right side but other than that I felt okay. I had this huge bandage around my breasts so it was difficult to move. My nurse was really nice and kept assuring me that the little bit of pain I had was normal but she couldn't give me more pain meds because I was forgetting to breathe! Then I was turned over to the nurse from H*LL!!! Nurse Andi must have been having a bad day or had issues with people with BA's she was supposed to help me get dressed and when I was having a problem pulling up my shorts that I came in she just stood there!!! Anyway with a little struggle on my own I got them on. My dh came in and she had a bit of an attitude with him so he told her to move and he would put me in the truck himself. Wheww! Glad I was out of there. The ride home was good I was so happy to have my new boobies!! Got home, in a little pain but doing okay. I didn't have any nausea until around 8:00 and then I got sick! Yuck! My first night was not too fun. Only slept in two hour increments, I guess that goes with having "new twins". My second day I felt great with just a little pain. I have been faithful in taking the meds. Went to the PS on friday to have my bandages taken off. What a refief!! The nurse put on my sports bra and gave instuctions for compressions. So far everything has been going well with minimal pain, I go back to the doc on Tuesday. I am totally happy with the size full C/small D what the PS said. Still swollen though. I will try to get some pics posted. |

PS was originally going with 450cc but ended up with 350cc. HP.

No kidding!!! Totally forgot about that! Recovery is going well so far. My swelling has gone down a lot as of this morning. Go back to PS on Tuesday. Thanks everyone for the support and comments!

Welcome to Boobieville! Glad to hear your doing well. I'm surprised you had a mean nurse, they were really nice when I had my BA done there.

Looks like your recovery is going well!! Congrats on your BA!!!!! My boyfriend knew I wanted to have a BA but he really KNEW after I talked his ear off 24/7 lol Happy Healing!!

Ok, I hope this works. I tried to upload some pics so I hope they show up. I have one Pre-OP and one on day 12.
Recovery is going well, driving is a little challenging but all in all everything seems to be going well. The hardest part is sleeping on my back!!! I am totally happy with the size my went with. I pretty much left it up to him. I am also getting a little stir crazy and my boys can't wait until the doc gives the okay for me to vacuum, mop, etc... I think I am going to tell him I can't do anything for 2 months! |
