I got my girls yesterday!
I'm still so in shock that I did this - so unlike me - but I am LOVING it!
So, I was supposed to be at the dr's office at 10am for an 11am surgery, but they called me earlier in the morning and said not to come until 11 because it was going to be closer to 12pm before he could get started on me. Got there at 11, went right away into the pre-op area, got into a gown and got my i.v. put in. It was another hour and a half before they moved me to a stretcher closer to the OR and gave me some happy juice in my i.v. That was nice - got a good hour long nap and STILL did not get into surgery until almost 2 pm. Funny thing was the nurse anesthatist (sp?) I had yesterday had also assisted the anasthesiologist I had for a big kidney operation I had back in Feb. As soon as he saw me, he asked if I had had surgery at a particular local hospital a few months ago. I said yes, and he said he remembered me b/e he was with me during my whole surgery. I, not surprisingly given the amount of drugs I was given, did not remember him at all. However, I said, "Well, I woke up last time, so I guess that gives you a good track record in my book!" Got wheeled into the OR a little before 2, and the next thing I remember was trying to wake up in recovery around 3:15. Took me close to half an hour to stop shaking. My teeth were chattering so hard that my husband said, "Can you hold your jaw closed if you try?" So, I did, and my feet and the rest of my body started shaking. It was like it just had to get out somehow! (It wasn't from being cold - I wasn't cold at all thanks to this warm air hose thing they had attached to my blanket.) I was also itching really badly, which I do every time I wake from anasthesia and we always think we've figured out the cause, but apparently, we haven't. They had to put some benadryl in my i.v. because I was scratching my skin off (not on my boobs, but everywhere - stomach, back, legs, arms). That helped and later at home it started back up, so he had me take some more benadryl last night. So, the boobs . . . I love them!!! I got my first accidental glimpse when I was trying to wake up and I sat up in the recovery bed. I didn't realize I had no gown on, so when my blanket came off as I sat up, I saw them. They seem HUGE to me, though I'm sure they're not really. I guess since I'm used to having nothing, anything will seem huge, plus he told me today that they will drop more into the pockets and soften over time. He had a velcro ace bandage wrapped around just the top half of my breasts to help push the implants down into the pockets. He said today they seemed like they're in a good place, so he let me go ahead and take the velcro strap off, and I am to wear only a sports bra until next week when I get my stitches out. Overall, I am so happy with my experience. It really is just uncomfortable - not painful - just feels like it did when I was engorged while weaning my kids. That, I can handle. I got HP silicone overs - 325L, 300R. I called an told my mom about it after I got home. (I did not tell her before hand, because even though she's my best friend, her picture is in the dictionary next to the word "negativity!") She was shocked and is a bit upset with me, but I know she'll get over it. She can't relate because she has boobs; I inherited mine from my dad's side of the family b/e his siter is flat as a board, too. Anyway, I think all will be well, and I don't have to keep it a secret anymore. Thanks again for all the support y'all have provided over the past couple of months. I don't think I would have done this otherwise!

Congrats sounds like things are going good for you so far. Glad you told your mom so that you can fully embrace your new girls without any guilt of her not knowing. Good luck with your continued recovery!!!!!!
