And there they are
Yesterday went good I would say. I got up at 6 am because I couldn't really go back to sleep. Of course I got on here to see what was going on. I got the house cleaned and played with the boys for a little bit. I was set to go in at 1:15, for a 2:15 surgery. They called and told me to come in at 2 instead since they were running a little behind. which worked out okay. I was able spend more time with my boys.
We showed up at 2 and filled out a few papers then hung out for a long time. I think I waited an hour in the preop room in a massage chair (which was a nice relaxer). I didn't get on the table till about 4. I was pretty much calm all day long. I think it helped spending so much time in the office before the actual surgery. I really got nervous when they took me back to the table. i was almost in tears I was so nervous about it. They put me up there, gave me some laughing gas, and then started the IV and I remember thinking that I was tingly and I almost liked it. Then next thing I knew I'm in recovery. I know everyone says that really you are just out with no warning, and it really was like that. I guess I took a while to wake up. And then I had a hard time staying awake. They said I had to go pee before I could go home. And after waiting the whole entire day without liquid, I was surprisingly able to go pretty quick. Getting out of the bed for the first time was kind of difficult. I have had 2 c-sections and I had getting out of bed with out pain mastered, but this is so different because I couldn't use my arm strength. And my stomach muscles are obsolete, after said c-sections LOL. The ride home wasn't too bad. The office told me to bring a pillow because it will make the drive home more comfortable, and it really did. I pretty much slept the whole 20 minute drive. We got home around 8 and my family was there taking care of my boys. I was in a fair bit of pain at that point and I felt the most comfortable hunched over a pillow on the couch. I couldn't even stay awake to chat with them. My husband has been a great help too. Getting everything I ask for, taking care of the kids, and doing whatever it takes to make me comfortable. Surprisingly I haven't even looked at the girls. They just had me go home with my zip up hoodie on. So no bra or anything, so darling husband wants to keep peaking! I just haven't wanted to see them yet for some reason. But they are definitely there. I am to the point now where the pain is manageable. I definitely feel like I am engorged, which is what I was told it would feel like. My whole boobie area is tender though. Even below the incisions (crease incisions). I am sure it's just because there was trauma to the region. I am so relieved it's over, and I am just hoping and praying that I don't have any complications. I kept asking myself throughout the day "what am I doing"...'what am i thinking!?', though backing out was not an option either! when i changed in to my zip up hoodie it was the real thing. I think it took a while for the percocet to really work though. At about 10:30 I was ready for another one because they hurt so bad. So I set my alarm for 12:30 so I could make sure to take another one. I woke up at midnight on my own, and I was actually in less pain as at 10:30. I hope this post is readable! I am so groggy, but I really wanted to get on here and post my story. Any way, that's how it went down. I will edit if I remember something ![]() Thanks to everyone on this site willing to answer all my questions. |

No, I haven't had children so I can't really relate to your discription of the discomfort lol. I think what I am most worried about is the unknown because I've never really felt pain or discomfort before so I don't know what to expect at all! I can just imagine coming round after surgery and being like omg I'm dying haha! But yes only 8 more days! Time is certainly speeding up now I'm getting closer to the day
![]() You mentioned they are a bit of a strange shape atm hopefully they will sort themselves out soon! I'm so jeolous it must be so exciting haha! |

Laughing Gas and a Massage Chair---Wow!! Wish my PS had done those kind of special touches on the day of my surgery!
Anyway...Congrats and remember that the pain will be more manageable in a few days. Ice up if you have too...I find it really helps! ![]()
