Dr made a mistake!
I decided to have a BA 11 yrs ago. Looking back I really didn't research properly. (Thank goodness for this site now!) My 1st surgery was a week away, when the nurse rang and said someone had complications, and they were postponing all surgeries for a couple of weeks. Alarm bells rang, and I cancelled. Booked with another Dr. a couple of months later. Decided on a size, 240cc R & 270cc L, silicone gel, over the muscle. I had NOTHING after feeding four boys! He said this would get me a 34C.
On the day, I said maybe a little larger, he had already said that they take 4 pairs into the surgery, from the lowest size I require, up. Next, I start to wake in recovery, I look 'down there' - nothing! Then the nurse comes to tell me there was a mistake & the company had sent saline by mistake, so they didn't put them in. She said 'you can come back another day or we have souced a pair of 180cc that we can put in now' Well, being groggy, I said do it now. They really should have contacted my husband, and not asked for a decision while I was so groggy from the General. So, I ended up with smaller than I wanted. For a while I was okay with it, because it still looked nice after nothing. Then I started getting disappointed. Looking back, I should have sued him, but I was too embarrassed. Now, we are in a good financial position again, I am having them replaced. This time, I want bigger!! It is still so hard trying to find a surgeon. I first thought, I am too old now at 49, but I really want to have a great figure. I have been browsing this board for a couple of weeks now, and it is so helpful. My first appointment is on July 15th, hopefully all goes well, and I like him. Thanks, Rainbow88 |

I can't believe they let you make that decision after you woke up. Good luck with your new search! I hope your journey is much better this time around.

Yeah, that wasn't too bright of them asking you as you're coming out of anesthesia, and someone should have checked the implants before they took you to the OR. I hope all goes well for you this time around. Good luck!

Wow. That's some story! It seems like they would have made sure the correct implants arrived before the surgery and I can not believe that ANYONE would think it's a good idea to consult a half sedated woman.
May you have a MUCH MUCH better go at it this time! Good luck ![]() |

Whoa, kinda scary but I'm hoping that this time around everything goes smoothly! 49 is not old at all, enjoy life and look good while you're at it!
Good luck w/ your consult in a few weeks. You will find tons of information on this site, it rocks!

Ok needless to say it's obvious college degrees don't mean a person has any common sense. How could they ask you while you are sedated? That is terrible. I'm so sorry for you. I hope everything goes better this time around.

Thank you all so much!
I was so pleased when I found this website. I now know that I have to be a little more assertive with Dr's. And have the all the information beforehand. I now know what I want, and the look I want to achieve. The only thing that has played on my mind is telling my sons (they are 17 to 26 yrs old, 4 of them!) I think though they will be fine, I can talk to them pretty openly about most things. They may be a little embarrassed for their friends when they see me, but I figure, they have embarrassed me plenty of times when they were younger (the way kids do). They will just have to get over it. And Mum will be sooo happy!! That will make up for everything! (Hubby can't wait) Thanks again, girls. |

I think its great you are going to do this and get what you want. Your son's will probably be very supportive of you - they want you to be happy! Best Wishes w/ your re-do!

All I can say is, WOW! And WOW! Talk about unprofessional. At least you've got another shot at it. You're not too old. You're boys? Kids tend to get embarrassed just by their parents being in the room. They'll be fine.
