My Story ...
July 2nd - We left the house at 4:30 am to be at the Surgery Center at 7am. We got there about 30 minutes early, so we waited. They had me feel out some paper work and pay the Anesthesiologist and Surgery Center. At about 7:15 they called me back to pee for the pregnancy test. And oh did I have to pee lol! I had been holding it since I could have anything to drink since midnight the night before ... I was afraid I would have nothing to give them if I went before. I filled out more paper work, the nurse give me nausea medications (I think phenergan (sp) and zantac). Then she started my IV with saline I believe.
Then Dr Wiener came in to mark me up. He confirmed everything we had talked about and then off he went to get prepped for my surgery. Shortly after the anesthesiologist comes in introduces himself and explained what he would be doing during the surgery. He explained that I would be breathing on my own and that I would not be intibated (sp). Which was good news because I didn't want a soar throat in addition to the ba pain. The anes. gives me a shot through the IV to relax me and BOY did it! I was in la-la land within seconds. Then they said it's time to go. I kissed my mom and bf goodbye and the wheeled me away. We enter the OR and I'm so doped up from the shot that I can't even focus on anything. Really strange feeling. Then they put the mask over my face and that's the last thing I remember. Until waking up. My bf is the first person I saw when I woke up. Right in my face, kissing my forehead. I don't remember what he said to me, just vividly remember his smiling face. My mouth was soooo dry. Every time I tried to talk my lips got stuck on my teeth, lol! So the nurse gave me some sprite, which was gone in like 10 minutes! I wasn't hurting at all, just really tight and heavy in my chest. And I still couldn't get enough to drink. I was also starving. So I asked the nurse when I could leave and she said as soon as I felt like I could stand up to dress and they would wheel me out the car. Oh and I forgot to mention that while I was in surgery my sweetheart ran to the pharmacy to fill my scripts. He has been amazing through all of this. Such a good man and a blessing. So I'm dressed and they bring me to the car in a wheel chair. I need food. But when we get our food and I take a bit, my mouth is still dry, dry, dry. So I couldn't even swallow without mixing a big gulp of my drink in with each bite! I was awake and loopy the whole 2 hour ride home. But felt fine really. No nausea or pain, just pressure, lots of pressure. I was actually feeling good enough to go to the local video store to rent movies with the bf. Before we watched the movies my bf surprised me with a pot of warm water and some rags ... to give me a sponge bath! I was in heaven. I had felt so dirty and grimey and wanted to bathe, but couldn't. He cleaned all (TMI)... talk about dedication and love. And my boobs ... well they are perfectly even, high, huge, and deformed looking! LOL! But I know this will change July 3rd - The following morning was my first post-op appointment. Again I am feeling extremely well. Just tons of pressure. Discomfort more than pain. Well I knew the massaging had to start today and was worried about how this would feel on 1 day old implants. I was right ... it hurt like you wouldn't believe. But I do it and I do it every 30 minutes to an hour. This actually wears me out a little, because I break a sweat from inflicting pain on myself. Since I am instructed to push very hard. Not only does it hurt, but it's pretty hard to press firmly in toward your chest, while using your battered pecs to do it. Thank goodness for the vicodin today!! July 4th - Today I am feeling more discomfort from the bloating and no BM since Tuesday morning! So I take a laxative, and wait for the cramps...lol! Lots of massaging of course ... and it still hurts. OH and today I have not had any pain killers at all. I wanted to GO! and I am tired of being doped up. But I'm feeling really well. Also today is the day I get my little man. He has been with his daddy during the surgery and I miss him terribly. So we get him and go to visit my brother, who is in from CO (military) and within 1 hour the laxative is starting to kick in! I am cramping sooo bad that it's doubling me over. Which is exactly why I didn't want to take it ... but better than the alternative. So I go on home and finally GO! July 5th - My boobs are much better looking today. A little lower and softer. They are going to be beautiful. My bf can't stop looking at them. They are still completely symmetrical and huge. I'm definitely going to be a Full C and maybe a D. So overall girls ... this hasn't been such a bad experience. I expected much more pain and laying up the first few days. But I've been out of the house everyday and moving around just fine. Just lots of pressure and the massages does hurt but they feel relieved immediately after. |

It's funny you mentioned that about the food! I stopped off to grab some food on the way home from the surgery center too and had to take a sip, take a bite, take a sip, chew, take a sip, swallow. It took my about 20 minutes to finish three crackers! :-)
congratualtions! |

Congrats!
Hard to believe you were well enough to go to the video store right afterwards!! That is fantastic....seems like you will recover well. I know that feeling about being a little backed up...be glad to know it will get better as soon as you are off the Vicoden!

Hi Lennie... So am I. I was really expecting a lot more pain and down time. I did take my vicodin on schedule every time for the day of surgery and the day after. Nothing on the 3rd day though. I was sore don't get me wrong, still am a little ... just not in enough pain to constitute being doped up 24/7. I personally HATE the high from pain meds.
