My journey into boobieland

Let's see if I can keep my fingers working long enough to tell my story. I woke up at 6 AM on Wednesday morning and tried to get the last of my things together for surger. I got to my ps's office at 7:45. They took me straight back and took my vitals. I have mild asthma and they wanted me to use that to help with the intubation. This turned out to be challenging. The albuterol makes me jittery and the combination of that and not eating anything was pretty troublesome. When they went to put the iv in I almost passed out and threw up all at once. They could not get the needle in that hand. I thought they got it in... boy was I dissapointed to find out we had to do another go around on the other hand! They cooled me off and gave me some time. A nice nurse came in and held my hand while the other one worked on the iv... this time it was smooth sailing... thank goodness! The doctor was alittle behind schedule so my mom and hubby came back to talk with me. My mom knew about rhinoplasty but not boobs... opps! Nurse let's cat out of bag around 9AM. Mom didn't freak... she was very sweet actually. They finally took me back and I went to sleep. I cam out of anesthsia (sp) pretty easily... not sick... not freaking out. I wanted until I got my wits about me and then they sat me up and helped me get dressed. I felt like I was wrapped in bubble wrap!

My mom and hubby came back and sat with me again. It turns out that my sugery took about 4 1/2 hours. That was faster than they thought it would be for both. PS told me that everything turned out great and that I was going to be very happy! My mom stayed the whole time at the office, which I thought was sweet. My hubby took me home and showed off his nursing skills. I did not know that he had it in him. He has been so gentle and kind. I was in a lot of pain for the first two days... more than likely due to the awkardness of so much bandaging.

Yesterday we went back to ps where np took out my nose tampons... it didn't hurt a bit... it was a relief. She also took off my boobie wrappings... what a relief that was! I could breathe again. They gave me my surgi bra and an extra one to take home. They gave me instructions and said everything looks good. I am anxiously awaiting hubby's arrival today so that I can have a shower!

Like I said, feeling so much better today... the previous days are a blur. I am sure it will be worth it in the end. I honestly thought that it would not be as painful as it was though... or I thought I was more tough than I am. I have been staying quite on top of my pain meds and trying to eat a little something here and there.

I guess that it all for now... all I can think of anyway. Thanks for all of the support from everyone! I will post more when I am not so discombobulated! I can't believe my surgery date has come and gone now. It is going to be weird not having anything to look forward to and be really excited about. I'm sure I will come up with something else. I will post pics as soon as possible. I do not get the splint off my nose until Wednesday next week though. My bruising is a little scary on my face... I will spare you all that image for now

Can I just say your boobs are beautiful!!! I realllly hope mine look that good that quickly!!! Congrats on your new additions!! Yay for boobies!!

Congratulations! It must have been quite tough to get them both done at once, I hope you have a smooth recovery and feel and look great!
