Boobs that look like empty Christmas socks hanging from a mantle...

I gave birth to 3 beautiful children, and after my first child I looked, OK. After carrying the TWINS to full term, I could feel my belly tearing and would often have to hold my skin together to relieve pain, so I could sleep during pregnancy. I was soooo huge. My first son was 10lbs, and the twins were 7lbs EACH!! After the twins were born, my breasts had grown SO BIG in order to feed these monster twins and keep them both full

After the twins stopped breast-feeding and I went back to exercise and pre-baby body… I was sooo depressed. ** I remember crying myself to sleep at 22 years old when I realized my body was destroyed ‘forever’. I looked awful. My breasts looked like empty socks hanging from my chest, and my belly looked like an empty plastic grocery bag. I could seriously tuck and un-tuck my skin into jeans! I could not afford surgery, and quite honestly was toooo busy caring for 3 children. I knew someday I would get surgery, but in the mean time, I gained some weight to fill in the disgusting 'empties'. My husband VERY MUCH appreciated this.

16 years later, I started researching and interviewing doctors. Some of them were a bit creepy. Others made me feel like a number. My sister had a bad experience, so I spent lots of time looking at their work (photos) and had many questions. I also assessed the office staff. If the staff was not happy, friendly and attentive, I walked out! After surgery, that last thing I need is to work with an office staff that is disgruntled. I found Dr. Mofid, and knew immediately that he was going to perform my life long dream surgery. He was professional, attentive, intelligent, and made each of my questions seem important! His staff… what can I say… I have never been treated so well at any other business. They all make you feel like you are the only patient, and every question I have is treated as though it is very important! Dr Mofid did an excellent job choosing his staff, and they are such a positive compliment to him.

Today, with my oldest in college and the youngest (twins) 16,,, I was ready for surgery. I lost my padding weight 2 years ago (though my husband was not happy about it, because it brought back the empty sock and bag look). On January 31st, 2008, I had the abdominoplasty to remove the skin and repair my stomach muscles. I run 30-40 miles per week and weight train 3-4 hours per week and was back to this schedule slowly, but completely in 5 weeks!! The scar is so thin and minimal. I knew then, I would be back for my breasts…

On July 21st 2008, I had a breast lift and Aug. After being given the original choice of ‘Overs Vs Unders’ – I hesitantly chose ‘Unders’. I later did research, on both and became even more confused on placement. I love to weight train and cannot even imagine compromising my strength for boobs, so I started to worry, and go back and forth with my decision. Dr Mofid felt my hesitation and worry, even though I thought I was firmly decided on ‘Unders’. After really looking at the strength and movement in my PEC muscles in my Pre-OP appt, Dr Mofid took charge, and said: ‘Overs is the right thing to do for you. Lets do ‘Overs’. Instantly a huge burden was lifted from my shoulders, a sigh of relief, and stress just exited my body. I didn’t even realize how much ‘Unders’ was worrying me, until right then! Dr Mofid knew how important exercise and strength was to me.Thank you, Dr. Mofid- of course ‘Overs’ was best for me- why couldn’t I see that until just then!!!

At almost 40, I finally have my 22year old body back. (Minus the not so supple skin tone, etc.- but you know what I mean!) This was the best thing I ever did for my self, and much healthier than adding 'volume' weight!!! My doctor is DR. Mark Mofid in San Diego, California. He is awesome! My scars are sooo thin, and his work, is just extraordinary. He was very patient, intelligent, well spoken, and simply amazing in the surgery room! Recovery went well, and any concern I had was quickly evaluated, and Dr Mofid took the time to make sure I was fine! I cannot even list how many times Dr. Mofid went above and beyond during my pre-op, healing process and follow up appointments. I feel like I can run a marathon and it is just 12 days after BA surgery. I had the strength to resume my entire weight-lifting routine 1-week after surgery, but was warned not to that again, until I get Dr Mofids approval! Good luck to all of you! Pick the right doctor, then stop worrying and enjoy! I love my new body and boobies J

As Mothers, we always tend to think of ourselves last. Kudos to you for holding on to what is was that YOU really wanted. You are a GREAT mother and wife, never forget that. Congratulations on the "new" you. On a lighter note, now you have 2 sets of twins! (I can be so corny!)

Thank you to everybody! ...and Masons Girl your response made me feel better about the money I spent. I was starting to feel guilty for spending the money on myself like this, instead of something for the kids or husband... but you are RIGHT, we do think of ourselves last, and it was about time I did something this great 'just for me'!!!! So anybody reading and feeling guilty about the cost... if you want it, just 'do it'!

Congratulations! What a great story! I SOOOO know what you mean. I too, had the empty sock look. My PS described my boobs (or lack thereof) as "Empty Sacks" on my chest. Nice, eh? I am so happy for you. You waited a long time to get your girls fixed. You SO deserve it!

...oh, and TWILIGHT, my husband likes em more than me. It is sooo weird to me. I think he finally see's me as a woman again (sigh of happiness Would of done this a long time ago, if I wouldv'e knew how much he was going to like em.

They should always be proud of you. By the way - don't know about without a bra, but in the bra your boobs look totally real, I would never guess you had them done.
