My New Boobs Have Arrived!

So my second consult was with a PS whom I really liked even though I didn't know anyone who had gone to her before. She made me feel at ease and it was almost like talking to one of my girlfriends.

A week after my BA consult with her I also made an appointment for a rhinoplasty consult, since my nose has been broken twice and I have a deviated septum. She said she wouldn't do the septum work but I knew if I didn't get my nose straightened now, I'd be kicking myself later b/c I don't see myself having time open for this kind of recovery for several years! So I had both a BA and rhine scheduled for Aug 11th.

In the days before my appt I went by GNC to pick up bromelain and arnica. I couldn't find the bromelain and finally gave in and asked the guy working there where it was. He was young and pimply faced and when I asked him he kind of smirked and wouldn't look me in the eye! It turns out that they were all out and that's why I couldn't find it. I have a feeling he knew exactly why I was looking for it !

Anyway I had decided not to tell my family so the one taking care of me is my ex-bf. He was very understanding since his mom has been through a few BA surgeries herself. So the day of he picked me up at 7:15 and I didn't have to be there til 8:30. So we went by Starbucks and just the smell of coffee was enough to make me feel "normal" even though I couldn't drink any! Finally, we got the surgery center at 8:15 to check in and the lady at the desk asked if my ex-bf has was my husband, I said no, she said "ok, 'live in friend'." I was still like "Ummm, no!". I had to wait in my pre-op area until 11 am b/c since I had extended my surgery time with my rhinoplasty I had to be the second surgery of the day for my PS...which stunk but i wasn't really nervous at all while I waited for 2 hours. The nurses were all very nice, it gave me plenty of time to talk to my anesthesiologist and just kind of relax. They had me in my gown, cap thing, booties with thigh high leg compression sock things and the nurse told me to leave my undies off for the surgery. Apparently, since my surgery would be 3 hours I could wet myself. Just fantastic! They wheeled me into the OR but I'd already been given some nice relaxing drugs by IV and they transfered me to the OR table, put the mask over my mouth and I happily drifted off!

I woke up in recovery and stayed there about 2 hours. Nothing too eventful, nothing too painful. It just felt liked I'd done a very serious chest workout. There were two other girls who I could hear had obviously also had BAs in the recovery room with me. The nurses called their mom's in to come pick them up when they were ready to go and this made me somewhat teary since my mom would never support me through something like this. They called in my ex-bf to get me when I was ready, whom they kept referring to as my husband!!! (He sure didn't mind, but I was yelling from my gurney that he was just my friend!)

I went home and hung out the rest of the day, I wasn't too nauseas or sleepy. I just ate jello and crackers the first day which made me feel very weak the next day (so make sure you eat something healthful quickly! I could barely walk to the bathroom and back by myself) My PS had to break both sides of my nose and the left half of my face is black and blue but it really doesn't hurt. I ended up getting 425cc on both sides and they look great so far just high and tight, not too frankenboob-ish The only thing is that I can't breathe through my nose and since the ace bandage around my chest is tight sometimes it feels hard to breathe. When I get funny pains in my boobs I just try to tell myself it's normal (thanks to what I've learned from my JBI girls!) and then go shopping online for all the cute clothes I'll be able to wear to distract myself!

Well, my post op is tomorrow and I should get my splint removed and unveil my boobies....Thanks for reading my story and thank you for the support all along the way

So glad to hear that everything went well.

So did your x not stay with you? I'm told to have someone with me 24-48 hours...but my husband may not be able to get off of work (he works the graveyard shift.)

No I had one of my girlfriends come over as soon as he dropped me off...she had other things to do that day so she couldn't take me to the surgery! Yeah I def wouldn't want to be alone the first day or two (and it's obviously not safe )

Welcome to boobieland!! So glad everything went well for you! I bet you can't wait to see how everything turned out at your post op. I finally had my post op yesterday (day 6) and it was such a relief!! especially to get the ace wrap off! It feels good, but at the same time i felt like that thing was really supporting me and protecting me and now i can't wear anything! no bras allowed! it feels good, just a bit unprotected anyway, can't wait to hear how your appointment goes tomorrow. are you still feeling okay?? taking plenty of pain meds?? They're absolutely wonderful!! You got the same cc's that i got, so it'll be interesting to see if we end up the same size Congrats on your new boobies sweetie!!!! Take it easy!

My kids will be home, my daughter is 14. My hubby wants me to sleep downstairs on the recliner which is not too far away from my daughter's room. He said he'll have the "bell" sitting by me if I need my daughter to help me. Do you think this will be ok?

I think as long as someone can hear you (your daughter) and there is someone to drive in case of an emergency (your hubby) that's prob all you need. The recliner will probably be way comfier to sleep in anyway! Good luck, it looks like your day is soon
