My breasts have arrived!

I arrived to the office yesterday at 12:30 with my boyfriend. I paid the remaining balance for the surgery and then filled out a ton of paperwork (I'm in the mentor study for the cohesive silicone gels) They also gave me another antibiotic.

Then the PS drew some lines on me and we went back into the operating room. I was really nervous at that point, as the nurse could tell because she commented on my ice cold hands! Both she and the PS had wonderful bedside manners, explaining what they were doing and talking to me about various topics to keep my mind off of things. The painful parts were when they put the IV in and when I got shots (the local anesthesia) all around my breasts. I kept apologizing for being such a baby, but they were good humored and said it was fine of course.

Then they put the sedative in and I don't remember the last thing I said or being out. So the twilight anesthesia worked like a charm!! (They also gave me medicine to dry up my mouth so I wouldn't produce saliva during the procedure and choke) Eventually I woke up, although my memory is spotty. When my boyfriend came in I already had my zip up hoody on which I don't remember, and apparently I was moaning to him about how much it hurt. I was put in a wheelchair and out to the car, none of which I recall either. My next memory is sitting in my chaise lounge at home taking medicine.

I was in and out of sleep the rest of the day, taking medicine. I did get up for some dinner. My BF had to help me to the bathroom the first or second time and pull my pants down, but then I was able to do it myself and walk on my own!

I've been icing like mad. The left one is higher/more swollen than the right, but from reading all of your experiences it's normal. I have my first post-op in a couple of hours when the PS will take the bandages off. yay! The skin is feeling a little itchy, but I know that's normal too.

If I can get off of the vicadin and muscle relaxants today, I can go back to the gym tomorrow. Would be good to do some elliptical to start feeling normal again. I was too out of it to watch too much TV yesterday, but some good movies might be on my list tonight!

Will update more after I meet with the PS.

Exclamation Gym??

You are going to go to the gym the week of your BA? I am not sure that is a good idea. I was told NO CARDIO for at least 3 weeks. Better check with your PS....you dont want to have any complications. Good luck though! I wish you a speedy recovery!

Yeah!! I'm happy for you! Do take it easy though, rest is important in the healing process/success of it all, the gym isn't going anywhere! Best of luck

Take is easy, you just had surgery!! I know when my cousin had her BA she was lifting her youngest, shopping, mowing the lawn. Her DH thought she was nuts, but she seemed ready to do it. She sounds a lot like you, not one who likes to sit and be brainless in front of the TV. Maybe you should rent some movies that you know you will enjoy. Let us know how your appointment goes.

Thanks, all! My post-op went well. My left breast is more swollen than the right, which the PS was a little surprised by because the right breast was more work (it bled a bit so needed cauterizing). I do have a bruise by my right breast.

He told me he wants to see me in a week. In the meantime I can go to the gym if I am off the narcotics and I have no limitations as far as lifting my hands over my head, etc. I still took some vicadin today so rather than go to the gym I walkde around the block and headed to my neighborhood coffee shop and read outside for awhile. I am pretty antsy and am ready to be out and active!

Feeling a lot better, and I was expecting day 3 to be the worst from what I've read from others.

The only weird thing is that Vicadin gives me the hiccups. I've had hiccups for an hour each the past two nights. But other than that no main complications other than that my bandage on my right incision is bloodier than my left one (but no fresh, seeping blood).

They are still wonky looking, but starting to look better even today! I have tried putting on some tanks and dresses just for fun to see what they look like. So excited!

I can't wear a bra for a month, so I am limited to just wearing loose fitted cotton camisoles under my shirts (optional). So I want to go shopping for those!! Any camis that people absolutely love here?

Thanks for the well wishes. It really helps to have such a great support network!

It sounds like your recovery is pretty smooth. Being antsy, I take as a good sign that the recovery might not be as bad for some. Hopefully, I am one of them!
