I'm home and am on my 3rd round of ice...
Today went really well. Somehow I managed to sleep well last night! We didn't have to leave home this morninig until 10:30 so the morning draaaaaagggeed. I was feeling very edgy and just wanted to get there. Was nagging my hubby about his driving a bit! Nerves. My check in time was 11:30 and surgery at noon, got picked up at 3pm, home by 4pm.

When we got to the surgical clinic, there wasn't anyone at the check in desk so I poked my head into the first room where I could see people, and boy was it a funny thing to see in that quick moment. There was a gal semi propped up in a bed with a sheet pulled over her, and there she was holding up the sheet and looking at her boobies with a big grin

Yup, I knew I was in the right place!

I got to meet with the anesthesiologist again, I had to see him the week before as I'm allergic to a number of medications and don't tolerate narcotics well

so he was trying to figure out what they would do for pain meds. Anyway, I got to chat with him and the nurse. Then my PS, Dr Valnicek came in to mark me. What a sweetheart he is! He had already agreed to do a bit of a revision on my previous lift scars as they ended up being a bit squared off at the outside edges, as well he offered to do a bit of lipo on my one slightly larger breast, so that they'd be nice and even to start with. These extras at no charge too! He reassured me with his calm fatherly manner, let my husband know that I was in good hands.

Shortly after I was taken down to the operating room, where they'd heated the 'bed' for me. Nice, as the room was very cold, so they gave me some warm fleecy socks to wear. All I remember is the anesthesiologist talking about the fact that he lived in the same town as me, a 45min drive from Kelowna, and then he said that he was now going to give me a little something to lightly sedate me. Well, sheeesh, I don't remember anything after that!

Suddenly I was waking up and hearing a woman in the bed beside me moaning slightly (nope, it wasn't me!). And then I noticed Elmer the elephant sitting on my chest!!

Yup, it felt a bit intense but not real pain, just incredible pressure, a bit of pain at the outside of my left breast. I remember thinking, oh that must be from the lipo but nope, he lipo'd the other one! Once the nurse realized that I was awake, she got me some ice packs and shortly after she told me she'd help me to get my sport bra on. So, yup, got a bit of a peek, sure enough they're 1 finger away from my collar bones, nice width (which I wanted more of) and fullness

She then had me get dressed and spend the rest of my recoup time in a recliner, about 45min. I wasn't feeling nauseous at all!! Thank God for that!! I think feeling nauseous is the worst thing, give me plain ol' pain any day! I had a bit of ginger ale, talked a bit to the woman in the recliner next to me. Funny, she didn't know they'd sit up so high to start with so she was a bit alarmed. Thank goodness for this site, so I told her about the forum and she may be joining us!

I had some soup and toast when we got home and am icing on and off. I'm surprised that I'm not feeling any real pain, about a 2. I joked with hubby that it felt like 'Olga' had put me thru some very intense upper body workout!!

So I'm very happy that this part of it is over with, on to the next phase(s)! Thank you all for your support and kind wishes! It's so very helpful to have this site and to be able to 'relate' our stories, concerns, and happiness too!! Sending you all a (gentle) hug!

having a bit more discomfort today, thank goodness for meds and ice packs. Hubby has been really great, it is nice to be waited on hand and foot, I could get used to this! Had the morning boob this am, yikes! But the icing seems to help. I'll post some pics soon. I did create a group but have to read up on the "how to's" Thanks again for all your warm wishes!
