Okay so the night before my surgery I stayed up until a little after midnight..making sure I ate enough and I had also just finished watching the DNC. I woke up at approximately 5:18. I was instructed to report to the Outpatient Surgery Center at 6:45. I got there about 10 minutes early. The place is literally right around the corner from my house. My roommate was driving so I sat there making jokes with her and to be honest I was a little nervous. I was thinking omg...what am I doing? Am I making the right decision? Am I going to be okay? Is this a more serious decision than I originally thought? What if I have to get a revision due to some unforeseen problem? I know...I know..not the most positive things to be thinking about. Then I started to think about the fact that I did say a prayer and ask my friends to pray for me. I also started to think about how credible the doctor was and how long he had been doing the TUBA procedure. They called me back shortly after all of these thoughts crossed my mind and I was a little bit nervous so my blood pressure was a smidgeon high, but nothing to be worried about. The nurse said she thought my blood pressure was probably high BECAUSE I was nervous and I am certain she was right.
I proceeded to put my ipod earphones in my ear and listen to contemporary gospel music. I didn't want to look or hear them discussing the iv they were placing my arm. I also didn't want to be bombarded with anymore fearful thoughts. I certainly wasn't going to turn back now. The only thing I still kinda felt bad about was the fact that my parents still have no idea I got this surgery. I know...I know...I am 27...what's the big deal?? Well...they are very traditional and I didn't really want to be bombarded with their negativity which would probably have only stressed me out more. I just prayed that everything went well because...YES I would have felt horribly if something went wrong and they had to find out via my roommate...but it didn't all is well so far. I go to postop tomorrow so he can take this binding apparatus off of me. I feel mostly sore in my chest, but other than that I am okay. My breast just feel really engorged. I took a small peek thru my ace bandage and I know they are swollen right now..but whoa..my cleavage is out of this world. I think because my breasts were a nice distance apart..barely 2 finger widths to begin with before the surgery. The nurses asked how I was when I came to...I don't remember anything. The last thing I remember was getting my iv...some sedative thru my iv...being brought into the surgery room and then a guy telling me to inhale and exhale deeply thru this oxygen mask. I woke up in a recovery room and the nurses said they heard that the surgery went well. I didn't get a chance to speak with the doctor again so I stayed with the 500 ccs in my smaller breast and the 470 something in my bigger breast. Oh...when I first got out of surgery...I felt woozy and probably looked it as well and the nurse helped me to my roommate's car. I get in and she takes me home and jokes that I look like a drug addict. lol We get home and I am moving around a little too much..she keeps telling me to sit down..well the hydrocodone which is the pain meds made me feel nauseous and sure enough I vomited up a little in the toilet...there was just apple juice in my stomach so it wasn't as bad as it could've been if I had real food in my tummy. I have trying to stay stationary all day and also just eat soup and fruit. My doctor said I can't have any dairy or fried foods because it could irritate my stomach and make me nauseous. When I went and weighed myself during preop..I found out I am 147 lbs...so so far this summer I have lost about 8-10 lbs which is pretty cool. I think when I first joined JBI I was about 150 give or take a lb...most of the time leaning towards 155. I am 5'10 so I look pretty athletic but I did want to be a little more slender. The doctor says I can work out in 2 weeks. I hope so...I will see how I am feeling by then. He said if my chest still feels tight...no chest exercises though..which is cool because I didn't do a bunch of those to begin with. I can't wait to see how I look tomorrow. Anything is better than my original boobs...I hope the assymetry is less obvious and that I will be able to fit into something that is sold at Victoria's Secret. lol I will keep you guys posted. Much love for all of your support ![]() ![]() |

Congratulations on the new boobs!
I also haven't told my parents (I'll be 25 in a month!) but they are also very traditional and conservative. I just saw my dad and since I was wearing a loose t-shirt he didn't seem to notice a thing! I even had rhinoplasty, and he didn't notice, so I hope everything goes just as smoothly with your recovery and the fam. Get your rest the next few days. |

Congratulations ! Do not feel bad for not telling your parents, it might be better for both you and them this way. I didn't tell my mother either and my daughter agreed that it was the best choice ( "I don't think grandma would understand" ). I hope your recovery continues to go well, you will look great ! Rosie
