It feels almost unreal that I've been waiting almost 10 years for this and it happened this morning-
The hospital where I had my BA/BL is two hours from home, so my sister and I stayed in a hotel last night. I feel asleep suprisingly easily and slept without waking up until the alarm went off. I had to be to the hospital by 7, but of course my sister and I didnt get there until 7:30. As soon as I checked in, I was sent to the pre-op room and my sis said goodbye. There were about 8-10other people waiting for various surgeries, so it wasn't very private. (That part sucked) Then I saw my PS walk through the doors in her street clothes and she came right over to me. She marked me and we discussed size, etc...Then she said the anist-however-its-spelled, would come in to talk to me in a few. She came in and said she'd give me something to calm my nerves. Within a few minutes I was out, and only remember waking up in recovery. (I was out before I even made it to the OR!!) I woke up pretty easily, had some graham crackers and soda, and was on my way...I'm feeling awesome and remember waking up thinking, "wow this isnt bad at all." I had convinced myself it would be so much worse! The 2hr ride home was smooth and my sis and I chatted and laughed and acted like our silly selves-the whole way. The only way to describe the pain is discomfort and tightness and the wrap is giving me a backache. Other than that, I'm great! I hope the rest of my recovery goes as well as these past few hours have. Thanks so much girls, you have all helped me out in so many way!!! I hope you all have this great of an experience and wish you the best. Trust me, its a lot easier than you think! My two C-sections were way worse...I'll post some pics as soon as this Ace Bandage comes off...not til next Tuesday-ugh! |
