So I had my surgery this morning and everything went exceptionally well. As long as I heal just as amazingly well *knocks on wood*, everything will be okay!

I'm in such amazement at how in love with them I am. It was worth every single penny that I don't yet have, lol.

Quick recap:
08.45am - My sorta bf gets to my apartment and we bs in the kitchen while he has a cigarette and coffee.
09.15am - Depart for surgical center.
09.45am - Arrive exactly on time and get signed in.
10.30am - Nurse calls me into the back to get me ready, but the front desk never came me my driver's license back. Nurse tells me to go retrieve it. Lady claims she gave it back (uhh, NO you didn't!) and I pull everything out of my purse. A few minutes later, the dug up my file and it fell out. *whew*

The nurse took me in the back and immediately, I can tell that this woman is either a huge cxnt naturally or just hasn't been laid in an eternity (perhaps both!). Dirty looks and nasty attitude galore. So right away, she starts giving me an issue about my piercings. I spent $60 on plastic retainers to plug everything up. When my friend had emergency gallbladder surgery two years ago, I saved all her piercings by switching out the metal body jewelry with retainers before they wheeled her into surgery so I know they CAN operate with them in. Anyhow, she went to "check" and confirmed that they all had to come out. She gave me a bag so I removed everything except my hood piercings, since I figured they wouldn't know about those.

The doctor was running late, so I was chillin' in the pre-op room for a while. The sorta bf left as soon as I went in to the surgical area, so I was a little bored, but it's all good... I was just waiting and waiting... not in the least bit nervous. Finally, the anesthesiologist came in to brief me and a short while later, the next nurse came in to get me hooked up to an IV.

I entered the OR and everyone was super cool. I was joking with the staff about the music they were listening to and they totally made me feel comfortable as I climbed up onto the crucifix-looking bed . The anesthesiologist was talking to me as he hooked me up with a fluid that burned just slightly as it went into the IV and then covered my face with the mask.

Next thing I know, I'm getting woken up from a badass nap and I'm so sleepy that I don't really wanna wake up... until I realized what I was waking up from and then I must have had this dumbass grin on my face.

About 20 or so minutes in recovery and they moved me into the next phase, where they fed me cookies and water. My mouth was SO dry that I could barely chew the cookies. I didn't really want them, but they wouldn't release me unless I ate and showed no symptoms of being ill from the anesthesia. Psshhh, I'm a rockstar though, so of course I was fine.

I kept peeking underneath the surgical gown to see if they were really there. I just kept looking and then smiling to myself... very pleased with (what I could see of) my new body thus far.

A few minutes later, the nurse called sorta bf to come and get me and about 15 minutes later, another nurse wheeled me downstairs to get picked up.

I feel amazing. No pain or anything. The soreness is nothing unbearable in the slightest bit... sorta bf stayed with me for a few and then he had to dash off to work, but he'll be back when his shift ends at 11. My bro is here now and we're just watching tv and bs-ing. I'm propped up on 3 pillows and I have my nightstand with snacks and a drink and my meds. I'm all gooooood!

Aside from the first nurse, this was an amazing experience so far! I don't want to curse myself, but I hope the rest of the week goes equally as smooth. I'd really like to be able to enjoy Thanksgiving if I can.

Now if i can have a recovery like yours i will be golden!!!!! Congrats best story i have heard so far! Now lets hope come January i will be a pro like you! Happy recovery keep us posted.

Thanks, sweets! It's still only day 1 so who knows what I'm in for... but I'm hoping for the best!

Congrats on the new twins!!!YAY for boobies!!! I am glad that you have someone there with you for the first day. I know you were having trouble w/finding someone but I am sooo glad that everything worked out for the best..Wishing you a speedy recovery!! I hope mines is like this in 3 weeks!!!

Yeah, sorta bf and I were having issues so I didn't know what was going on. I'm glad he was around though... we both wanted him to be. It was funny because he left to go home (hospital is only 15 min away) and they didn't call him to pick me up until I had something to eat and drink and didn't show symptoms of being ill. He thought they were going to call him when I got out to let him know I was okay. He said he was pacing in his kitchen from 1-2pm until he heard from them. That made me feel special, lol. Thankfully everything went well and I'm still feeling good today.

Yeah, "sorta bf" and I have been together for a year but it's one of those things where he won't commit and put a title on it, yet we're only with each other and things are pretty serious, so... I don't know what the hell to call him. Boys are so difficult!

That one cxnt was the only one. Everyone else was really friendly and awesome. I'm glad I had the bxtch BEFORE surgery and not afterwards.

All in all, a great experience though.
