I think I am in love with my boobies!!

My surgery was scheduled for Thursday, November 20, 2008 at 10:30am. The night before my hubby and I cleaned the whole house and washed all the laundry, that way he could just focus on me and not have to worry w/ any house work for a while. I didn't have any trouble sleeping, cuz by the time we was done w/ the housekeeping I was exhausted. I was told to arrive an hour and thirty minutes before my surgery time, but I wasn't even called back until 10:00. When they finally called be back I took a pregnancy test, a nurse took some before photos, I signed the final paperwork, and then I was started on an iv. Then the doctor came in to mark me up and finalize my size decision. I had been debating whether or not to go against my doctors opinion and get 371cc's but, my doc. said that the larger I went, the higher chance I would have for rippling because of my thin skin. I decided to go with what he recommended for my 5'3 105lb. frame, which was 350cc's saline,mod+,unders,armpit incision. Then the nurse sent back my hubby and my grandmother and while we were chatting the anesthesiologist came in and gave me my happy meds and then he helped me walk to the operating table. Next thing I remember was waking up w/ my nurse, Candy, by my side, which I told her that she was very cute,lol...a little embarrassing..I did have a little back pain when I woke up, but the anesthesiologist quickly helped relieve that problem.
After we left the doctors office, my hubby hand fed me cuz I was so stiff I could barely move my arms and my throat was very dry, so that made it very difficult for me to eat, but I had to eat something before I could take my pain meds. After my surgery I was wide awake ALL DAY, and I felt great, I had a few friends and family come over to visit me and I felt awesome.
The morning after surgery, I felt no pain, I was just very stiff. My hubby gave me a shower, straightened my hair, and dressed me, then he took me to my post-op appointment. After my appointment we went shopping for some more zip-up jackets for me to wear and I felt a little loopy from all the pain meds, but I still felt great.
My only complaint has been the back pain, I dunno if it is because I have been sleeping on my back, when I am an avid tummy sleeper, or if it is from the added weight of the boobies, or my continuous slouching,lol. Day 5 was the worst day because I stopped the heavy pain meds and took some stool softners the night before because I was becoming very bloated from not being able to use the restroom, so I spent a good while curled up in the bathroom floor, just waiting to be able to use the bathroom, but afterwards I felt much, much better.
I am now 11 days post-op and I feel great, it is my first day back at my nannying job and I am almost back to normal as far as moving around and lifting the baby. My husband was home w/ me for 4 days after my surgery doing EVERYTHING for me, I am sooooo thankful to have such a loving and caring husband! Overall, I feel that I had a great experience and I am sooo happy that I did this for myself. I can't wait to see what they look like when the d&f!!! I love my new boobies!!!!

WOW, what an incredible story! You seem like you have had a wonderful experience, that is awesome! And your DH sounds like a gem.

I had my BA the day after you & am a bit behind on the recovery scale - I had a hematoma & had to go back last week for surgery. But I am looking forward to feeling normal again! Please keep us posted on your progress!

congratulations!!!! im so glad to hear that you had a great surgery and having a good recovery...ive heard a few people say they have had back pain.. ive had 2 surgeries so far having 3rd in a week but can't remember having any back pain... maybe i blocked it out...i can remember having a stiff back from sleeping on my back for so many nights...that really sux.. anyway glad its all good...

congratulations! Nice to hear everything went smoothly for you. I wish the boys would treat us like that everyday hahah, but I guess that would be too selfish of me to ask! May I ask, how was the reaction from people at work/friends and acquaintances? (I would have to address it eventually myself). Keep us posted with your progress for sure!

I decided not to tell people like my mother-in-law,just to spare the lectures and negative opinions,but she didn't even notice when we vistited for the Thanksgiving holiday, maybe cuz they are so high up on my chest they don't really stick out as far as someone w/ natural C size breasts and I also wore loose fitting zip-up pullovers. But the friends and family that do know about my surgery was just curious about them and wanted to know what they looked and felt like, lol. But, I can't wait to see peoples reactions when I can actually wear tight fitting,low cut clothes. Hopefully good reactions!!

I don't know if it is because I went through the armpit or if everyone experiences this, but I couldn't lift my arms too far above my midsection for a few days, but each day I can reach up a little higher and do a little more. I am 13 days post-op and today was the first day that I actually wore a shirt that didn't have to button or zip up in the front. I never experienced any pain under my arms, I was just real stiff. And as a matter of fact I had to call my doctor yesterday to ask about how to take care of my incision because they covered them with a heavy duty tape and told me to just trim around the loose edges, but my next visit is 6 days from now and the tape has already come off, but he just told me not to do anything with them, not to clean them with anything, put anything on them, just to leave them alone,lol. I still haven't seen what they look like (I have a weak stomach), but my hubby says that they have healed well, I just need to shave my armpits . Hopefully I can take care of that before my next appointment
