4th Week and going.....

So I definitely started noticing last night that the boobs are dropping. I have been so impatient with the whole d&f process because mine were REALLY frankenboobish from the start. I guess shoving 425cc's into a really firm small B does that. I'm still a little confused as to why some women don't get frankenboob at all, and others do?? Can someone clue me in? I know something do with the breast tissue.

Anyway, it's the 4th week and I am going to start taking some bikini pictures soon. I tried on a couple of new suits, and I was disappointed because the boobs were still a little high, but last night I was like "Wow, they look better!" They're not the perfect dropped roundness I really want, but I can see the shape they are starting to take, and I am loving it more and more. I've also come to the conclusion that they are definitely 34Ds, and not C's, which is okay with me. I think some women, like me, start off thinking about breast augmentation's and just wanting something that looks sexier than what we have and something noticeable. Well, then we start researching and looking at other boobs and hearing EVERYONE say "go bigger, you'll be glad you did" and that modest "Oh, I only want a full C" suddenly turns into a full D or bigger. LOL. Right now, I am SOOOOO glad and thankful I decided on 425cc's, rather than the 375 I originally was fitted for. My doctor was very subtle with pushing me to go higher, but now I completely understand why, and looking back, I can see he was right in not outrightly saying "you should go bigger" but rather giving me very good reasons to go bigger.

My friend is having a big birthday bash at one of the big hip casino pools here next weekend, and I am frightened to death. For those of you unfamiliar with Las Vegas pool parties, let me explain. LOL. Hundreds of beautiful, BEAUTIFUL men and women who parade around in swimwear, ALL women wearing high heels with their bathing suits, golden tans, big sunglasses, Louis Vuitton handbags, decked out in jewelry. It's quite a scene, and something from a whole different world. And this will be the first time I will be in a bathing suit since my new additions, and I know my friends, guys and gals, will not be able to help staring. Maybe I'm being too paranoid, but it totally scares me, and I will feel completely self-conscious.

Anyway, the healing. So I started these new massages, and it has REALLY noticeably made my breasts feel softer!!! I can massage them now without any soreness. I think that is what is making them d&f more too, because it has only been 4 days, and they already look better. I can now sleep on my side. I am still afraid to sleep on my stomach (don't want to squish them! ha ha). Oh yeah, also, I don't seem to have lost any sensation in my nipples, so I am very thankful for that.

As for the Scarguard, I did some major internet researching (I do a lot of researching, lol), and found that Scarguard is really not that effective. Have any of you heard of Medscar? I guess it's the silicone that really helps the healing, and Scarguard doesn't have any of that, and Medscar is 100% silicone. So I haven't bought anything yet, I just don't want to dish out $70 for a tiny bottle of something that doesn't work. If it works, I absolutely have NO problem paying a lot of money, but I don't know...any suggestions? I've heard people say use bio-oil, vitamin e capsules, kelo-cote...?

Alright ladies, I think that's it for today. I'm almost at my 1-month mark and everything is going great. I'll post up some bikini pictures soon. Wish me luck for the pool party next weekend. AHHHH!!!!

Thanks for the updates

My surgery is in one week and it has helped me a lot in knowing what maybe to expect w/ my post-op. My bf has also been very helpful w/ everything and is making sure that I will be comfortable when my surgery takes place. He kinda makes fun of me since I want to watch all these breast augmentation surgery's on tv...but I feel like I could not be informed enough. Thanks again for all the info!!!

Week 6 update

So I went to the pool party yesterday. I was very self-conscious because I felt my breasts were still a little high up. Well the pool was completely jam packed, and it was really hot out, so after a while (and a few drinks!) I made away with my self-consciousness and walked around in my bikini for a couple hours. I heard just great compliments from my friends, and their friends, so it really boosted my ego. I know that once they drop and settle they will look great. Everyone who had gotten a boob job, or had a gf who had one had all sorts of advice for me, and most of it was "MASSAGE MASSAGE MASSAGE!" LOL. And there was lots of grabbing and squeezing each other's breasts. Women! Anyway, it was fun.

As for my healing, the breasts have definitely become softer. I think they are still a little swollen and slight high up. But today is the end of 5 weeks, so I'm only going into my 6th week, and they are supposed to really start looking more natural at 8 weeks...so I'll just continue to massage and hope for the best. I'm also so excited to hit my 6 week mark so I can get my butt working out again. What's the point of having these fabulous new breasts if you feel completely self-concious about your jiggly thighs?? LOL. I am a runner, so having been completely inactive the last 2 months has really taken a toll on my self-esteem. I think on top of the wanting to see the finished product of your breast augmentation so badly, the lack of working out really hit me hard, and I've been kind of depressed. But my 6 week mark is just 6 days away, then I can start training for the half-marathon I'm going to do in August. I will feel so much better about myself, healthwise, and in turn mentally and emotionally.

The size seems to be getting slightly bigger the more they drop, which I really like. I kind of wish I had gone a little bit bigger, but so many people have said to me that they are such a nice size for my body and frame, so I am thankful that they are this size. I wanted the natural look, but also for them to be noticeable and I think my doctor and I achieved that.

My scars are still pretty much the same. I kind of thought the scabs would be gone by now, but they are still there, even though they are small. I started using Medscar, not sure if it's effective or not, but it's worth a try. I see my doctor again in 4 weeks, so hopefully everything goes great until then. My doctor had said I can switch from the sports bra to a support bra at the end of 6 weeks, but I think I'll just keep wearing my sports bra until then. They say to keep on the snug supportive sports or surgical bra for as long as possible. Patience makes perfect! So as much as I'd like to put on a cute little lacy bra, I'm okay waiting a while longer to make sure they drop and fluff as naturally as they can.

Alright, I think that's it for now. I will update at 2 months, which will be in 3 weeks. Happy healing, everyone!

Smile 2 Month Update

Hello Ladies!!

Well it has been 2 months, and I must say that I am currently LOVING my boobs. No more going back and forth, this is true love! lol. They are the next best thing since sliced bread!

They've dropped a lot and I no longer feel really self-conscious about how high up they are anymore. I've tried on all my clothes that I used to have to wear major padded bras with, and I love the end results soooo much. BUT as much as I love them, I also have to say that the excitement has definitely worn off significantly. I FINALLY am not thinking about them all the time, whereas before, they were always on my mind. They are starting to really feel like they're MINE, and I'm no longer handling them like they are fragile glassware. They're just...there, for the most part!! But OH when I put on a bathing suit or a cute top or dress, I feel so happy with how beautiful they are. I love the size; I feel like they are perfect for my body. SOMETIMES I still wish they were a tad bit bigger, but mostly I feel very very happy with them.

As for the healing, I've continued to do my massages consistently. They feel softer every day and I truly believe it's because of the massaging. The incisions are FINALLY healing, and the itching is FINALLY dying down. OMG! It was really awful for about 2 weeks. My lefty incision is healing beautifully, but my righty incision is just starting to look like it's getting there, because I had developed a blister from being allergic to the steristrips, and it really slowed down the healing. Now that the scabs are all fallen off, I've started to use Medscar religiously. I apply it twice a day. Medscar is just a fancy version of the silicone strips people use. All it is is silicone "gel", and it's really just a very fancified version of extreme moisterizer. I can definitely say that it has REALLY helped with the healing. When the scabs fell off, I didn't use anything for a while, and the incisions and area around the incisions felt flaky and hard, and just weird. Then I started using the Medscar, and now they really feel like they are healing well. The flaking AND itching stopped, they are feeling soft like normal skin, and the incision on the lefty is BARELY noticeable.

Another thing I'd like to talk about is other people's reactions. When I first got them done, I pretty much told ALL of my friends. The only thing I was concerned about was work, because I work in a male-dominated industry, I was very self-conscious and nervous they would find out. However, with clever clothing selection, it was pretty easy to hide them. But the last month, I've pretty much thrown caution to the wind. I don't wear revealing tops, or cleavage showing outfits, but I do wear normal clothes, which may sometimes be form-fitting. Well, one of the guys at work asked my co-worker if I had gotten my boobs done, and she said she didn't know (even though she did know), and then she didn't want to tell me because she thought I would be embarassed. But honestly, at this point, I don't even care anymore. I mean, I won't tell anyone at work, and if someone asks, I'll tell him to his face that's completely inappropriate, but as far as hiding them, I don't care as much as I did before.

So I guess what I'm saying is, you will get different reactions from different people, but what is most important is what YOU are comfortable with. Don't let anyone make you feel bad or ashamed, because most people who would do so have never been in your position before and therefor really have no say. All of my friends have been so supportive and happy for me, and I am confident about my decision and happy with my results, so that is what I'm most focused on.

I'll post some updated pictures this weekend! I hope you are all healing well and happy!

Mandi
