It's over!....and under!

Well it is finally my turn to say they are in! I had 350cc hp unders sil gel put in monday the 16th. It was the typical fretting and imagining the worse of everything up until the surgery. Surprisingly that morning i was relatively calm, i mean i had researched and asked every question imaginable, i even had the anesthetist call me before hand so i could ask even more questions. And of course this site was a lifesaver! I went in to the surgery center at 6:30 on the dot for my 8 am surgery...we were the 1st ones there. A few minutes later the nurse arrived and ushered us in to a room to have my vitals checked and had me change into a gown and robe, had me sign some papers, gave my hubby some instructions and put me in a bed to wait for the anesthetist. She then started chit chatting about dogs and babies, anything to relax me i think...then she put the iv in my hand and ouch it kinda hurt but no big deal. A few minutes later she came in to give me the meds in my iv and my husband(who was more nervous than me)leaned over to kiss me and the last thing i remember is how good he smelled...freshly shaven yummy man smell....and the next thing i know i was waking up with a different nurse asking me if i was okay, and my hubby was holding my hand. I couldn't focus, she told me to try to look ahead, but i looked outside the window and instead tried to focus on the birds, so much prettier than the clock on the wall. It felt very tight and full like when you are full of milk and can't feed the baby! The throat was sore as well.
It was almost noon and the surgery lasted 1 hr 45 min. The doc told my hubby she tried the 375cc but felt they just hung over to much on the sides so she went with the 350cc hp, i am so fine with that! The pain was maybe a 4 and i had a teeny twinge of nausea when i had to get in the chair to go home. I only took the anti-nausea the first day. Didn't need it since. I stayed on top of the pain the first two days with percocet and Valium, then this morning Wednesday, the 3rd day i have only had Tylenol and of course the antibiotics. It is so much better than i thought! I am so relieved, i was expecting crazy pain! I think us mom's, and especially those of us who gave birth naturally are pretty tough! My hubby has been spoiling me with gourmet meals i am enjoying it while i can since he goes out of town tomorrow and the kids come back after that, so i better be ready for prime time! I have been moving around a lot so i don't get too stiff and resting with the help of my sleep mask(get one of you don't have one, it really helps)
I am bloated and the co lace is not working very well, so i just ate a bowl of dried figs and drank some Metamucil...yack...i am getting around well and today at the pre-op my doc said they were great! I have not one bruise, i think my doc was gentle with me and also the arnica and vitC and bromaline helped i am sure. I will try to post pics soon, i am so happy with them even though they are swollen, i think i am gonna be tickled pink! Finally i must say, it wasn't nearly as bad a i thought it would be.

1 week update

Today i have my 1 week post op appt...i was off most meds by day 3 just tylenol. The swelling is still there and they feel huge, like they are going to fall off, lefty is softening more than righty and there is soreness and that full to the point of uncomfortable feeling. I am still in the recliner at night, thank goodness we had one, i could not stand to be flat on my back in bed! i am very happy so far and hope the swelling subsides, i think i need to drink more water....i am really back to every activity, driving, household chores, ect. I posted pics!

Glad to see another mom's perspective. The staff at my PSs office seemed to think moms were a little bit tougher too. Makes me feel MUCH better about my upcoming surgery. Congrats to you. Hope your recovery keeps going so well!!

well i don't need to go back to ps for 5 weeks more(at 6 wks post op), stitches look great and I'll be taping for 3 mos to minimize the scar. I am still sore and at the end of a long day they feel achy and sore. I am so happy with the current size 350 hp's. I can't believe the 1st ps wanted to put mod +, these hp's are perfect for my frame.... starting my second week and feeling better every day, i did work a little in the yard pulling weeds this weekend, ps says that only prolongs the relaxing of the muscle and healing so none of that for 6 weeks...she also explained how it's not necessary to massage on the outer side of the breast since there's no muscle just nerves( no wonder it hurt so much) Also can't stress Arnica and Bromelain enough, i know i would have bruised w/out them!

17 day update

Yay! I am back to sleeping in my bed and on my sides also, with a lot of shifting around...The incisions are still a little lumpy, ps says tape for 3 mos. I no longer have any pain and just have a full tight feeling...the dropping and fluffing has yet to occur, and righty is firmer than lefty. Back to all activities except Pilates. I am still so happy with them, even high as they are, i've never loved my boobs before!
