They've Finally Arrived!!!

So here it is...my journey to the girls arriving!

I had my pre-op appointment on April 2nd. Met with the dr one last time to finalize everything and get my Rx's. Then it was off to the surgery center to register and get my surgery time. And let me say, I was doing all of this in pouring rain and tornado warings! NOT FUN!!!

My surgery time was set for 12:30pm on April 3rd. I had to be there at 11:30though. So I got up that morning and finished all the last minute details around the house. I had everything set up so that all I had to do was come home and relax. Then I went and took a nice long shower to relax and got ready to go. My parents were my responsible party and have been totally supportive!

I arrive at the surgery center and check in. Next thing I know they are calling me to the back, starting my iv and checking all my vitals. Then they wheel me back to the operating suite and the dr comes in and marks me up. Double checks the size with me one last time. And then it is time for me to go nite-nite! I woke up very groggy and the nurse is asking me for my pain level on a scale of 1-10. It was about a 5. Not as bad as I thought it would be. My mom is then able to come back and I am about to have fit to have the sheet lifted up to see if they are really there! So she pulls the sheet back and there they are in all their glory!!!! I get dressed and can finally leave.

I had an hour ride home. And was starving. So a quick trip thru chick-fil-a did the trick. I got home and was feeling much better than I had anticipated. I just lounged on the couch and watched tv all afternoon. The next day I had to go in to have the bandages removed and the compression bra taken off. While there, I also picked up a few grocery's and other items that I needed. Still, no major issues with pain. Just uncomfortable.

Now here I am today...2 days after surgery and feeling pretty well over all. Stiff and stretched, but nothing that tylenol can't handle. Morning boob does suck though. But the quicker you get up and start moving the better it gets. I was prepared to hurt and be in pain, so having very little post-op pain has been a huge relief.
