I finally got boobs!

DAY Before:

My anesthesiologist called me. He left a voicemail on my cellphone. I thought it was strange. He sounded like he was drunk w/ slur speech. He called to get some info about my height, weight, health, meds I'm on, etc. I returned his call and his son answered and transferred the call to his mom(?) then to Dr. Gordon, my anesthesiologist. I heard kids playing in the background. Gave him the info he needed. I wasn't nervous about my breast augmentation until I talked to the anest. I know Dr. Kim is a great PS but what about my anest?

I did my last minutes things around the house and filled up my gas tank. Went to bed early. Surprising slept really good. On the other hand, my boyfriend tossed and turned throughout the night. He didn't get any sleep at all. You'd think I'd be the one tossing and turning!

DAY of Surgery:

Got up at 3:30am. Took my shower and Emend (to prevent nausea from the anes). Left the house @ 4:30am. We got to the surgical center at 5:15am...had to be there at 6am. Waited until 5:45am to go in. I went to the suite and rung the doorbell...no answer. Then I walked down the hall wondering if we were at the right place. I left my cellphone and paperwork in the car. A lady passed by and asked if I needed help. Thank God i thought! She told me I was in the correct building but Dr. Kim's name wasn't on the door. There were other ones. So I panicked and ran out to my car to get my cellphone and paperwork. It was 5 til 6am. My bf was all, "you think you're prepared but you're not". Ran back up and rung the doorbell at suite 315A one more time. My boyfriend saw that suite 315 door was slightly opened so we wondered in there. Then a gal came in and asked if we had just rung the doorbell. She reassured me that I was at the right place. THANK GOD!!! I'M GETTING MY BOOBIES!!!

I went in to change into the oversized cap, gown, shoes, and undies...and pregnancy test. The nurse was nice. She was happy that my vein was visible insert the IV in. Met my anes whom I pictured differently. He wasn't what I pictured him to be. He was nice but he does mumble. Dr. Kim was late. He came in at 7:10am. We had to go to another room for the pre-op photos. My right disposable shoe came off when I got up. I held up my sleeve w/ my chin and my right hand on the rear. The gown was so large, I was dragging it on the floor. The nurses all giggled that I was cute and so tiny.

Dr. Kim said maybe he'll put 275cc since 300cc might look really big on me. I asked him for 300cc because he recommended that before. He said he'll use the temp sizers and see how it looks.

Went to the OR. The nurses asked me if I needed a step stool to hop onto the table...ummm...yeah. Laid back. The IV was tugging so they adjusted that and poof. I woke up in the recovery room. There were 3 people...blurry. I don't know who they were. When my vision cleared, only 1 nurse was there and I asked if Dr. Kim put in 300cc. She said yeah...on both? yeah. My boobs were in pain about a 6 so she pumped demoral and she wheeled me out to my car. I turned on the heated seat and held my boobs all the way home. It was a bumpy ride!

I had no nausea and wasn't tired. My best friend came over to take care of me while my bf's at work. She was so surprised that I didn't look ill or anything. I was wide awake until I took Vicodin. Slept a little. I'm alternating 2 tabs Tylenol extra strength and Vicodin every 3 hours so that helped greatly w/ the pain.

Day After (today):

I'm going to my post-op in a little bit. I hope Dr. Kim gave me 300cc. Pain level is at a 3. It just feels like I pulled my muscles. I could move my arms more laterally than I could yesterday. So far recovery is going good. Just been anxious to look at the girls. I've been trying to take a peek but he wrapped me up really good.

CONGRATS sweetie I'm going in for my breast augmentation on Tuesday w/ Dr. Kim as well. I"m praying that my recovery goes as great as yours. I"m scared...

You're in good hands! Did he give you Emend to take before surgery? Today going to the post-op I got a little car sick from the way my bf was driving. We live 32 miles away so it's a long drive.

Anyhow good luck to your breast augmentation surgery!
