I posted some pics of my areola incisions this morning. I'm thrilled with them, considering I was only 2 weeks when I took the pics.

Week 3 started uneventfully. I have been taking Aleve like every other day – the plastic surgeon recommended its anti-inflammatory benefits. I also started Vitamin E.
Lo and behold, I wake up 2 days into this week, and my breasts felt normal – soft, squishy, wonderful! I was not expecting this to happen this early on, and my doc has forbidden any massage until after Week 4. I was absolutely amazed. What a great surprise. They tightened up a bit a couple of days later, but they’re definitely on their way to getting softer.

I’m leaving for a cruise a few days into Week 4, and I’ve been packing. It suddenly dawned on me that I don’t know how to get my HUGE suitcase up the stairs and into my car (I live alone with my 8-yr-old). I live in a development where there is security, so I may have to sweet talk them into coming and lifting it into the car for me! I don’t want to risk lifting something like 50 lbs this early into things. When we get to the cruise ship terminal, I’ll just pay a porter to transport it for me – this is a time when it’s worth it to pay for something like this.

I’ve posted several things over the week in other sections of the forum about the fact that sleeping on my back has become really comfortable. No more back pain, and it feels good to sleep in this position! Yay! Another thing I posted about was the super-positive reactions I got from three women at a BBQ yesterday – they all want some work done themselves, and I let them see my incisions, feel me up, etc.

My steri-strips came off. My incisions look beautiful. My areolas look pretty normal already, and I’m sure it will only get better from here. I thought at this point it would still look a little gruesome but all of the scabs have fallen off except for one on the right side, and the incisions are about the width of a hair and it’s getting harder and harder to find them, especially along the top of the areola.

I’m pretty much back to all normal activity. I was slicing cheese at my friend’s house for her party yesterday, though, and it made the muscle feel weird, so I just stopped and did something else to help. You just have to listen to your body – it will let you know right away when you’re overdoing it.

Okay, found out my ex-husband was good for at least one thing - he lugged my suitcase up to my car for me.

I'm 2 days away from being able to start massaging and to be able to sleep on my side again! I have actually been twisting my lower body to the side but keeping my back flat at night, and for some odd reason, that's been really comfortable. I wake up each morning on my back, so I think I've been pretty good about staying in the same position at night.

My new girls are healing so beautifully! My left has dropped a lot. My right is still up pretty high and still more swollen than the left. As far as incisions go, it is almost impossible to see them on my left. On my right, on about a quarter of the areola, the purse string wavy kind of uneven look is pretty apparent, but even on that side, it's getting to the point where I don't think anyone would notice unless they were looking very hard. I did not think that they would be looking this good so early into the recovery process.

One area that hasn't been an issue so far is intimacy, as I'm single right now, but in the next few weeks I think it just might be! What's very interesting is that there was a guy I was dating pre-BA who has recently re-entered the picture. I had cut him loose early on after I picked up on a player vibe from him - he didn't deny it, and after a couple of weeks of silence on his part, he started texting again (you know how guys - especially the players - love a challenge - I really meant it that I care if I ever saw him again, but I think that is just making him try harder). He keeps wanting to get together, but I keep putting him off, not because of the BA, but because there's no way he would be more than a casual relationship, and although I have no problem with a friends with benefits thing, I have to feel there is a mutual respect there and with him it's just not clear yet.

After I go on vacation, we're supposed to get together for a drink. In the past, we never had actual intercourse, but we did fool around a bit and he did get a good feel in several times, so I'm curious to see if he will notice. I have no problem telling him about it should he ask, but I'm not going to volunteer the info. Not that I'm hiding anything, but again, I just don't feel like I owe anyone an explanation.

No one has really noticed and asked outright about the BA yet - my close friends knew that I was having it done, but I haven't had acquaintances or strangers ask or say anything. I have noticed more guys not so much hitting on me, but really trying to catch my eye and hold a stare for a while. They are being much more obvious about it than in the past, when it might have been just a glance. I do attribute that to the boobs.

I wore a bikini today at a hotel pool and boy do I like the way they look in the bikini top. I used to have to do all these tricks and adjustments to make it look like I had something there, and now all I have to do is to throw on the top and I'm good to go!

Overall, I am just so, so pleased with the BA itself but also with the BL. I've always had a pretty youthful appearance, but I felt like my boobs aged me pre-BA. They are so pretty now - under clothes they look amazing, and they are looking pretty fab with nothing on too.

I can't believe it's been a month already. The recovery has been easy, easy, easy. The first two days kind of sucked, but after that it's been super smooth sailing. I hope that is reassuring to anyone reading this who is pre-BA!

I went to Bermuda - it was beautiful! At some point when I was on the ship crossing the Atlantic, my right boob dropped a bit - yay!

Whoa ~ I want to go to Bermuda. I have always wanted to go there. I didnt know you had a vacation planned. I would love to see pics. I still need to load my Hawaii pics. I am better at posting my booby pics then my personal pics. Were you able to swim? Did you go with family or a man? Would love to hear details if your willing to share.

I haven't posted an update for a while, but a lot has happened, so here goes.

In about three or four days, it will officially be 6 weeks. The girls are looking great. Just in the past week, my right one has dropped quite a bit but it is still a bit higher than the left. My incisions look really good. There was one area that wasn't looking so great, and now I can hardly see the scar. Things have changed very quickly!

I will be seeing my doc in mid-August for the next follow-up. I'm still wearing the surgical bra at night. I started sleeping on my side, which I was allowed to do after the 4 week mark. I still find myself rolling onto my back at times because I don't mind the back sleeping anymore.

All right, now for the big news - I posted this in the main forum, but it bears repeating - I was finally intimate with someone. Last week I went on a Bermuda cruise and let's just say the big moment involved a beach, a full moon, palm trees, island breezes, and a very good looking crew member. If he noticed anything, he didn't say a word about it, and he kept saying how much he loved my boobs. At this point, my incisions were looking very good and since it wasn't broad daylight or anything, I don't think they were noticeable.

I had been so worried about what to say with a new partner because unlike many of the girls on this board, I'm single and went through this whole process virtually alone. When the moment came, it was a nonissue, and now I'm not so worried about what to say if someone asks about it in the future - they feel like such a part of me, and I feel so much more confident now that they're larger and up where they're supposed to be!

Oh, one other thing. On the cruise, I DEFINITELY got some attitude from women. I noticed on two occasions that two separate women said something to their husbands after I walked by and burst out laughing. Now I don't know if this is because of the boobs because I've always gotten attitude from women due to the fact that I wear makeup and do my hair and try to look good, but in this case, I did catch the women staring at my boobs before they made their comments. I couldn't hear what they said. Momentarily I was like wtf but then of course I didn't care b/c it's an insecurity thing.

Another interesting side note is that I caught a few teenage girls looking at my boobs. Not in a rude way or anything - just in a curious way. Felt momentarily guilty and hoped I wasn't contributing to that whole negative self-image thing amongst girls LOL.

Today I had to buy some new swimwear - my old bathing suits do NOT fit on top anymore. I was lucky to find a bikini top that coordinated with my favorite bikini bottoms, so that way I can just have the larger top. Also a tank suit that's really cute and will be good for waterslides and occasions where there's a risk of the top falling off!

I actually planned my whole BA/BL around that cruise - I figured a month was enough time and I was right - they looked really good and I was feeling fully recovered from the operation by that point. One thing that was not so great was that I forgot to moisturize the scars on a few days, but they still kept healing beautifully regardless. On vacations I guess we forget our routine sometimes! It was nice to be in summer clothes actually filling them out!! First time in years!

I swam in the ocean and had no problems at all! It was so nice - great trip! I was careful about lifting my super-heavy suitcase (I don't pack lightly LOL), but I just tipped a guy to do it for me and that was how I solved the problem.

As for those ladies that were not so nice.... Your better than them & I am sure you look better than they did. Last year we took a cruise & I wore makeup & did my hair all the time too, not too many people do that but it feels great to look pretty. Enjoy the boobs & keep showing them. I used to be a girl that was jealous of pretty boobs but I never made comments or stares like that. Now I am the girl that is showing them off.

Yeah, I don't understand why some women are like that. When I see a woman who looks good, I'm always like wow, she looks great. Or I'll compliment her on her outfit or something. It's nice to have the time on vacation to really put some effort in - do my nails, hair, etc. - so I enjoy it. I've had stuff said behind my back before, but nothing like what I experienced from the two women on the cruise. I wasn't trying to be in anyone's face or anything (well, except for that guy! LOL). With the women, it's like whatever. I just wish women would support each other more instead of always trying to tear each other down!

I feel like I’m still dropping – my right remains a bit higher than my left but it’s so much better. I quit using the surgical bra at night with the plastic surgeon’s approval. I went to my local Leggs/Hanes/Bali outlet and got two sleep bras. I discovered these when I was breastfeeding years ago and needed support at night. They’re super soft and you can barely feel them, but they’re stretchy enough to provide some support. So much more comfortable than that surgical bra, with the Velcro that was always scratching me!

Hmmm interesting…ran into that guy I’d fooled around with pre-BA/BL (mentioned him in a previous post). As a side note, apparently calling guys out on their bad behavior has one of two really positive effects: 1.) They disappear and you can move on and find someone who is actually worth being with or 2.) They realize you won’t take any crap and end up respecting you. The second things is what happened with this guy – he’s dying to go out again. Not sure how I feel about him so I’m just going to see how things play out. We went out for drinks about five days after we ran into each other, and although again nothing much happened, he was totally clueless about the BA. I know at some point someone might ask, but it hasn’t happened so far, and there’s no point in volunteering the information.

To me, when I look at myself, it’s obvious I had something done because I’m thin everywhere else, and then my chest seems big in comparison, but it’s also balanced out by my hips – I have that hourglass thing so maybe since it’s all in proportion, it’s not as noticeable? I don’t know.

Just before I was ready to post this, I realized that some of my nipple sensation has come back! It’s only a very small area in my right areola – but I scratched at it with my nail a bit to see if I could feel it, and sure enough, I did. Nothing yet on the left, and nothing on the rest of the right areola, but it’s encouraging to be getting something back.

Also, FYI, under the “Clothing/Bras/Lingerie” forum I posted about Le Mystere No. 9 bras – I bought two this week off of Ebay and I’m very happy with them. For those of you unfamiliar w/them, these are made especially for women who have had BA. They get mixed reviews from girls on these boards, but my experience has been positive and I wanted to let you know I posted a thread about it detailing my thoughts about the bras.

I’ll post again next week – I will be 8 weeks by then!

Thanks so much! I'm happier and happier with them every day, mainly b/c they are higher up and fuller now - what a difference! I'll be posting another update in about a week or so!
