Hi all,

Just a brief update to my story. I'm finding that as the months pass (I'm already 5 months post op!!) there are fewer day-to-day and week-to-week changes, but there are still changes going on.

Nipple Sensation

The biggest change recently, and the one that prompted me to update again, is that I'm getting a bit of sensation back in my left areola!! If you've been following my story, you know I've posted on this several times, somewhat concerned that I wasn't feeling anything, but still with no regrets about getting BA/BL. I was massaging and moisturizing last night when I felt some unmistakable sensation on the left! Prior to this, since surgery, there was absolutely zero sensation. My doc even told me at about 12 weeks post-op that if I wasn't feeling anything at that point, I likely would never get sensation back.

I was so surprised to feel something! My right side is almost overly sensitive. I had actually stopped checking the left, because I got used to feeling nothing. That's why it came as a surprise.

Listen to the advice you get on this board - I can't remember who it was on these boards who told me that she was surprised how the nipple sensation came back overnight. The advice you get on this site is just invaluable.

Overall Healing

I'm still sooo happy I went with silicone - they feel so natural. A bit firmer than they did pre-surgery, but I honestly can't tell where my own tissue ends and the implant begins, unless I'm massaging. If I touch them and squeeze a bit, it's hard to feel the implants.

My scars (areola) continue to heal well. Everything looks very natural, too.

I now own 4 LeMystere No. 9 bras, all bought off of Ebay in my size, 30E. Absolutely impossible, at least where I live, to find my size in a regular store. The colors I have are beige, cream, lavender, and black and I love these bras. The bras very low cut in the front, so they don't show with a deep v-neck top. Very comfortable too! My recommendation once you drop and fluff - go to somewhere they really, really know how to measure you (not Victoria's Secret - find some old lady in a department store who's been doing it for decades). Wearing the correct size bra for the first time ever has felt so good - no more discomfort or lack of support!

Cruise Ship Guy

Well, sad news ladies - his ship contract ended on Oct. 31 and he went back to South America, where he is originally from. We had a couple of sad phone calls before he left. I haven't heard from him since, and I'm not expecting to for a while. I think I will hear from him in the future, but we both knew it was pretty unrealistic to have any sort of relationship living on two different continents. It was a terrific summer romance and honestly, if it had to end, better that way than the usual disastrous way when I catch a guy cheating, talking to exes behind my back, being mean, etc. Very, very nice memories of this particular guy. And he will officially go down in history as the first to see me after BA/BL.
