![]() | My BA experience...it is way long....
I thought I would finally sit down and write about my breast augmentation and lipo experience. I never was too concern with my boobs when I was younger but I always hated my body as far as my saddle bags went. No matter how much weight I lost it was never enough for my thighs to get small so I started thinking about lipo. I was in my early twenties. I never was confident in myself but again I just punished myself with drastic diets and a severe eating disorder. I met my DH in 1996 and fell in love instantly, he met me while I was still in treatment for bulimina so he has basically been through it all with me. I always told him that I wanted lipo at the time I was a small to mid B. We got married in 1998 and my son was born in 2000. Things were tough for me because I gained weight from my pregnancy and my boobs had grown a tad but not much. I had my daughter in 2001 and still hated my body. Flash forward a few years and my SIL had a breast augmentation and I thought they were awesome but still didn't think much of it just wanted my lipo. I started training for a marathon and my legs just werent' getting better still had those damn saddle bags. I messed up my knee from running and so I had to slow down a bit. So I start wearing bathing suits with skirts and halter tops to hopefully make me look bigger on top. Still bugging my Dh for lipo but still hadn't thought much about the breast augmentation part. then last year it really hit me. I went in to get measured for a bra and the nice lady at Nordstrom tells me that I am wearing the wrong size and that I am a 32A. I was soooooo upset so I call my DH to tell him the terrible news which he responds "they are perfect...i love your boobs so what is the big deal" I tell him "it is like you thinking you had a 7" d**k and it is 3" instead. I became obsessed about getting a breast augmentation and lipo at this point but my DH was totally opposed to a breast augmentation because he didn't understand why I would want to put a foreign object in my body and that they were perfect....blah blah blah... So I really start thinking about it and the more I think the more I got obsessed so I finally told him look I am getting a breast augmentation and lipo so you need to deal with it. He told me if that is what your really want they go for it. I started researching and made an appointment to see 2 plastic surgeons. One could not see me until mid July which did not work with my master plan of having it done while my son was at a 3 week sleep away camp. I found another PS and read all about him and past reviews so I called and he could see me the Monday after my son left for camp...PERFECT..I met Dr. Steely and I loved him from the start. I told him what I wanted and he totally understood where I was coming from. I told him I wanted to look natural and that they belonged on me. I am older and I want to look like a mom but with rockin boobs. No offense to the bigger crowd but I knew that look wouldn't look right on me or fit into my lifestyle of PTA president LOL! So we settled on 325CC and lipo of the flanks, thighs, tummy. We were set and I told him I need it asap due to my son being gone. I made arrangements for my daughter to go to my MIL for the week and away we were. I had my surgery on june 25th and I am almost two weeks post op. The day of surgery I checked into the little private boutique hospital and my DH was there I filled out the paper work and they took me up. I peed in a cup and they gave me warm socks, hospital gown and a cool little hat. The nurse gave me a valium and she "dr. steely likes his patients to be relaxed" and I waited. About 30 mins later Dr. Steely came in and confirmed my size and the lipo areas. He got out the sharpie and went crazy drawing on my like a 3 year with a crayon and a blank wall. The anthelogist came in and talked to me (I had my IV in by now) and told me he was giving some verocet SP??? and that is all she wrote. I dont' remember going to the operating room and they say I was awake but I remember nada of this. Next thing I knew I was rudely awaken from a lovely dream I was having. My DH and SIL were outside my recovery room. They asked if I was in pain and I told them maybe a 2. They then wheeled me to my room (I spent the night) and got me comfortable and I sat there wondering how I got there! No pain from the breast augmentation at all. I was able to lift my arms and move around...The lipo a different story I felt like I had workout really instensely but not really painful. Had a great night at the hospital with nice nurses. The only problem I had was my oxygen level would fall really low and they had to keep put the oxygen tube in my nose to get it to come up. I came home the next day and it has been really easy. I was tired and felt out of breath at first but the pain was virutallly non existent. got off the pain pills by Monday morning and took tynelol for 2 days then I was done. I was driving by Tuesday and been going nonstop since. My first post op was the Monday after my surgery no big deal. My second post op was this last Monday and he said I could do light excerises, drink, sleep on my side and wear a underwire bra but no pushup bras. He gave me my massage excerises and off we went. Lipo bruising was horrible but it is getting better. I am still swollen and can't see the total effects of the lipo yet. I absolutely love my breast augmentation!!!! I am a 32D (baby D) so it is perfect. Sorry this was so long but here is my whole story. Happy recovering to all.

Thanks so much for sharing your story! I really enjoyed reading it, and I could definitely relate to so much of it! I've been interested in lipo for awhile, its probably something I'm going to look into more at some point. I'm glad your recovery is going so well, and I am looking forward to hearing your updates!

Thanks for your story. I laughed so hard about you saying it's like you thought you had a 7in. d**k. It's difficult to explain why you want boob to the dh. I think I'm going to try your approach, lol.

Thank you for telling us about your experience. I'm happy to hear that your doctor was good to you (I think the Valium is a good idea), and how you told your husband you were getting a breast augmentation....Classic! Well congratulations to your new additions...How is your husband liking them now after the surgery?

My DH is still a little nervous around them like he is going to hurt me if he touches them but he is adjusting finally. He was this way after both my c-sections. He is so funny!
