My breast augmentation story

ok girls, i am day 2 now, so i thought i would take the time to share with you my journey so far. btw i got 405cc (right) and 435cc(left) textured silicone Ultra HP over the muscle.

Surgery Day:

so the day has arrived and i woke up at 2am...3am...4am...and finally got out of bed at 5am. we didnt have to leave my house until 6.30am.
i was surprised at how "not" nervous i was when i first woke up. quite calm. i had a shower with my antibacterial wash as directed by the dr.

we had booked a hotel room in Brisbane for 2 nights following my surgery, as my partner was going to his work awards night the night after, so it worked out well. so i fed my dogs,and birds, and gave them all big cuddles. well not the birds, they would not have appreciated that. changed all the bed sheets and blanket to nice fresh ones for when i arrived back home aswell.

so the drive in to Brisbane is about 40 minutes. my partner and I had lots of conversations. my mind was not really registering that i was going to have new boobs in like...3 hours. i told my partner he had better give them one last grab cos they will be different soon. lol. so he did. hehe

so we arrived at the surgery a little early. handed over all my consent forms etc. and then the nurse called me into the prep room at about 8.30am. so i said goodbye to my man, and off i went.

first thing i had to was get changed into a gown which i thought was silly cos they are going to have to take it off me anyway. lol. and the nurse put the IV into my arm (inside of my elbow). now i am a big baby with needles at the best of times, so you can imagine my horror when the nurse said she has to give me an anti nausea injection in my arm. eeeekk. i was not a happy camper....but it wasnt too bad.

then my surgeon came into the room to take some pre-photos, so i stood up and just about fainted. (this always happens every time i have a needle). something about the adrenalin built up they tell me. so it took me about 10 minutes to be able to go and stand where the dr wanted me to take photos. Then he drew all over my boobs. lots of lines, and squiggles, and the amount of CC's for each side (cos there was 30cc difference).

ok, so im all set to go in and they lead me into the surgery room and lay me onto the table. connect all these pads on my shoulder blades, and legs. i think they must have been pulse monitors or something. not sure. and also put a little hose thingy on my nose.

Now i was having twilight sedation which i was really nervous about. had no idea what to expect. so they put me under a little, everything went a bit blurry. kinda like being a little drunk. i was like OMG, please dont let this be IT. but soon enough i was out.
so my biggest fear was waking up while they were still operating. and my biggest fear came true!!!! i woke up while the dr was stitching me up. i was like "hello, i can kinda feel that". but it sooooo wasnt what you would think it would be like. i really wasnt worried at all. i was more concerned about how cold i was. i was shaking like a leaf.
later on the nurse told me that they turn IV off when they are stitching so it was completely normal for me to wake up when i did.

so about 10 minutes later, i was able to get up. and the nurses dressed me. put the oh so tight compression bra on, and i was on my way. i saw my partner in the waiting room and i yelled "i got big boobies"

we arrived back at the hotel at around 1pm and i felt excellent. i snoozed on and off until about 6pm. my partner had taken all the messages of who had called me while i was asleep, so i returned all the calls to update everyone. i ate several times. i had had absolutely NO nausea whatsoever. and no pain apart from the incision site when i stand up.

so far so good!!!

So i woke up at 4am to take pain medication. i had to be woken up my partner to take them. so i obviously wasnt in pain, but i wanted to stay on top of them.

eventually woke up at 7.30am. still pain-free. at this point im wondering when it is going to kick in.

got up, got dressed. put some makeup on. and off we went to my follow up appointment with my surgeon.

we had breakfast at a cafe just outside the surgery, and then went in. the nurse took of my compression bra to re apply the dressing, and OMG my boobs are huge. i wouldnt let my bf see them until i had seen them in the mirror lol. did anyone else do this??? but it felt so good to have my boobs free from the bra. im allowed to take it off 3 times a day for 1hr.
so the nurse taught bf how to reapply the dressing etc
and then the nurse said she needed to give me 2 needles in the backside!!! NOOOOOO!!! i couldnt believe it. but i was a big girl and didnt cry.

the surgeon came in and said they look excellent and will have an amazing result. so im so excited. they are just swollen and look tight, but nothing crazy. i will take pics and post of day 2 when i take my bra off to change dressing later today.

now one thing that is driving me crazy is my itchy back. did anyone else get an itchy back. it probably all in my mind, because i cant reach to scratch. i keep having to get bf to do it for me. all u ladies yet to go in, invest in a back scratcher!!

so all is good today, went for a walk to the chemist which is around the corner from our hotel. im definitely more mobile that what i thought i would be. its great!!!

Congratulations!!!! Waking up during surgery is really weird. I woke up during an appendectomy when I was a kid- Very scary! Glad all went well and hope your healing and recovery go as well as your process has so far!

So its the end of day 3 for me now. woke up this morning at the hotel, and woke my bf up cos i wanted my free boobie time. lol
im allowed to have my compression bra off 3 times a day for 1hr. so he took bra off and changed my dressings etc.
i went straight to the mirror and omg they have changed overnight. im so excited at how they are starting to look. and its only day 3.
its really strange though, however badly i want bra to come off, i want it straight back on again. i walk around holding my boobs, afraid they're going to fall off or something.

we left hotel and it was so good to get home. my sister came over and made me soup. haha she promised she would, so i held her to it. even though i could have easily made it myself. lol

there is not a lot to update though except for my boobs feel even better today. i still have not had any pain, except for the first 5 seconds when i sit up from having a snooze. it must be the weight on the stitches, but the incision site hurts.
o and i have a huge bruise on my backside from where nurse gave me a frickin needle at my post op appointment. speaking of bruises, i have not got any on my boobs so maybe the Arnica spray did the trick. not sure though.

big word of advise i can pass on, is if you have someone there looking after you, make the most of it. DO NOT do anything that involves upper body strength, however small u think it might be. i think this is one of the reasons i have had NO pain. cos i didnt push myself whatsoever. i had bf do EVERYTHING. from adjust pillows, to putting compression bra back on, to opening doors, shuffling my backside up so i was comfortable in bed, scratching my back. hehehe

thats it for now. will post more at longer intervals i think. i have posted some day 2 and day 3 pics. let me know what you think. xo

wuhoo - great to read you have had a successful surgery - its alot easier than you think aye!!!! make sure you get lots of rest tho - it can be easy to over do it cos you think you are not in pain etc. Pics rock!!!
