![]() | Fast Funny BA: from BA idea to surgery table in 11 days! ![]() I am 10 days post-op and I just wanted to share my story because i believe it is unique in the sense of time. I went about the whole process not in a rushed manner but in a VERY MOTIVATED manner. I started out as a '34A' (but wore a padded 32C - don't be fooled by the C - I was very flat) and now i'm.. a small C? not sure yet. How about I say i'm the size of a grapefruit. Natrelle Saline unders, 300cc right, 370cc left (i'm still shocked by the cc difference!) Wednesday1: friend and I were talking about other people's plastic surgeries (this is a novel topic since I personally do not know anyone who has had "work" done). Thursday1: I quit my awful job (it was really a poisonous environment/situation) and decided to fly to my family/friends in Southern California for a couple weeks (it's where I'm from; I have lived in New York City for the past 9 years) Thursday1 night - the initial idea: got a VERY random email from my mom saying she stumbled on this breast augmentation info website and would i like to have this surgery? it's only 2 weeks to heal and she could take care of me? oh, and she could loan me the money until i get a better job?. PLEASE keep in mind my mom has never had cosmetic surgery done, has never talked to me about breast augmentation's (except 10 years ago when i briefly mentioned wanting one) and.. it's just a weird email to get from a mom, period! I talk to a couple friends mostly to laugh about this funny email - but then i think "you know what? i think i'm gonna do it!"Friday1: am i still wanting a breast augmentation or was it a fleeting whimsy? NO- I REALLY WANT A breast augmentation AND I'M READY TO GET DOWN TO BUSINESS. I do 18 hours straight research on the internet (especially on JustBreastImplants.com!), book 5 consultations for next Wednesday/Thursday (and have to talk a couple into squeezing me in their busy schedules) --oh, and buy a plane ticket for Tuesday [very important!] Saturday1, Sunday2, Monday2: do more research, tell some people I am going to California for at least 3 weeks, lie to people about not having a drink because I'm detoxing. [this one's tough - i REALLY enjoy drinking ]Tuesday2: delayed flight to California - get in at 2am - yikes! Wednesday2 - Consultations: From 10am until 5pm I have back-to-back consultations. Not only do I have not 1 minute for a break or any food but I am 20min late to 3 of them! The worst part [or really the Best part] is I pretty much know the whole day that I am going to choose doctor #1. when you know, you know. But I still went on all the other consultations because it's the wise thing to do - and I also learned something new from each consult. [plus, the last 1 was going to charge me $75 either way so I might as well show up. All the other consults were free.]. I carry around with me a print out of a collage of boobs I have culled from the internet. Most of them are YES's (the best are circled in green) -- at the bottom of the page are the NO's with captions and arrows that say 'No.' 'NO!' and 'No?' all in red. It's pretty funny but gets the point across. I want small C's, VERY NATURAL shape, and i don't want webbed boobs, square boobs, baseball boobs. Wednesday2 5pm - Decision made: I call doctor #1 from my car to announce the "winner". I put down the $1000 deposit (oh, this is really happening isn't it) and set up bloodwork appt, pre-op appt, and SURGERY... for MONDAY. I felt most CONFIDENT with my chosen doc even though all the others seemed great, too. Mine also happened to be $1000 more than the others. Thursday2 - bloodwork: Pop by the lab for my bloodwork. I let them know that we will need the test results fast tracked because the normal 2 day timeframe was not going to work! As you may already notice, everything is being fast tracked. my implants are being ordered today (5 different sizes) for next day delivery because I can't be in the operating room waiting for FedEx. Friday2 - pre-op: They squeeze me in at 8am before doc's surgery day. We talk size a little bit. I already know that I don't want to tell him the bra size or CC size [because i'm not a doctor and this is not my 'language'] but instead show him more pics of WHAT I WANT. this leaves much less room for error. Also, I was more concerned with getting the most natural shape rather than size. Saturday2, Sunday 3: life goes on business as usual except i'm taking Vitamin C and K pills for 3 days before surgery. Sunday night I put the prescription nausea patch behind my ears. I'm not scared, not worried at all -- my only concern is that I don't want to regret getting too small implants. But then I realize I am only suffering from temporary boob greed and move on. Monday3 - surgery day!: oh sh*t! i'm on my period! Call the surgery center -- if I wear cotton underwear with a pad I won't have to change for surgery. Great. I haven't worn cotton full-bottom underwear or a pad in years. So I drive to Target. Wow, cotton briefs in a bag are SO CHEAP - who knew. I have never bought underwear in a bag before. And the technological advancements in pads these days! so many to choose from. BTW, i feel a little *high* in the store. This is where I realize the nausea patch might have made me drowsy. oops. Monday3 11:30am: Drive to the surgery center. I am wearing a grey Juicy velour outfit. Please keep in mind this is NOT my style AT ALL. but I have borrowed the outfit because I imagine there must be a reason why all the girls on Dr. 90210 are wearing them after surgery. When in Rome! And since I don't own flip-flops I borrow my mom's FitFlops because they fit - so today I am dressed like a suburban mom! Oh, and what was supposed to be a mom and daughter deal has turned into a whole family affair. My dad took the day off of work (not necessary but thanks dad!) and my sister comes. Turns out my sister can not handle it and makes my dad take her back home. I'm fine with that and I understand she has just arrived 2days ago from building orphanages for Aids babies in Africa for 2 months - this is reasonable culture shock. Monday3 12pm - hospital gown time: Something weird happens to my left hand when they try to put the IV in. My nurse brings in the nurse boss to try again on my right hand. I'm surprisingly very calm and not worried even though we've hit a 'bump'. They tell me the doctor is running behind with another patient - I tell everyone 'that's ok --Let's not rush him!' haha. I'm just sleepy and ready to nap. So I nap. The funny anesthesiologist wakes me up to say Hi. My doctor comes over to doodle on my boobs with a blue pen. Some nurses are getting their lunch delivered. and.. i'm ... out. Monday3 4pm - i'm done!: I tell my mom I see 2 of her. I tell the doctor i see 2 of him. I think this is great because now he can take all the family vacations he wants....................... my mom asks if i want my picture taken while I am in a wheelchair outside - of course i do! i love photos!!................ zzzzzzzzzzzz............ Tuesday3 - postop appt: I'm wearing only a sportsbra, i have no bruising, and i'm hunched over like an old lady. I will be hunched over like that for at least.. i don't know becuase i'm still very hunched over. Doc said i was very tight when he went in - my muscles, skin and tissue. I (very proudly) told him I'm convinced it's because i did too many push-ups. 6 days post-op: I am very sore. I can't stand or sit for more than a minute without feeling burning pain in my left boob. I sleep a lot. I don't eat for the first 70 hours because of the vicodin. I take vicodin for 4 days religiously. I move from my bed to a recliner back to a bed a few times a day. I always have at least 6 pillows around me (or on me when they shift and I can't move them). I hate showering because i can't really reach the top of my head and I fear leaving my boobs sportsbra-less for any amount of time is somehow dangerous, and since i can't dry myself properly I have to struggle with putting the bra and clothes on while still wet - yuck! I can only talk in 2 word increments because my chest can't get enough air. I massage them several times a day. 8th day post-op: I feel somewhat normal. There is nothing I can't do now (albeit very slowly). But my back and ab muscles are VERY SORE and always clenching. my only relief is to lay completely flat which makes my boobs and shoulders sore. lesser of 2 evils! Still haven't really looked at my boobs - they are weird! also, they are so high they are 1 inch from my collarbone. Can't wait to use them to hold plates and bowels. 9th day pre-op - doctor follow-up: doctor prescribes muscle relaxers for my back, abs, left boob. My healing is excellent, just not as fast as some since I was so tight. He changes my steri-tapes. Sutures should disolve in 6 weeks. in 2 weeks i can start wearing any bra. must wear sportsbra to bed for next month. can start using scar cream next week - he recommends Kelo-cote. Says Maderma is just garlic oil, has no science behind it but has really great marketing. 10th day post-op: There was a moment when I was laying down reading a book that I noticed i was not in pain, not sore, not uncomfortable, not at all. THIS IS A MIRACLE. it lasted about 5 minutes. Also, I think my left one is D&F'ing a bit. Also, I can sit in front of the computer [to type this] for much longer periods of time [although, my abs are very sore] And that's where I am so far! Tomorrow I am meeting a friend for lunch and then visiting some other friends during the day. I am hoping I don't have to lay horizontal in the middle of the restaurant for some muscle relief. I don't drive yet but maybe that's just me being lazy. All in all, I like my new boobs! |

Great story. Thanks for sharing. I to was very tight and had the square high (1" from the collarbone), this seemed to last forever. Don't get discouraged....they will drop and fluff and they will be fabulous. I am so glad I did it. Congrats.

I am 4 days post op and returned to work today. Nobody really has noticed so that is a good thing. I did not want it to be office news. Mine are high and square hoping for them to d&f quickly. They are also so hard. I also have a burning sensations when I move around but, I know this will get better.

I can relate, I knew I wanted a breast augmentation and literally the next day we were due to fly to cancun (only place I could go that could do it soon) for some reason just to get a consult here is takes 6 months. The next week I was on a plane to get boobs LOL.
