me and my best friend's breast augmentation story

me and my best friend have been friends for about 8 years since we met in high school. we have both wanted to have a breast augmentation for years as neither of us ever really 'developed' in that area

i was scheduling my pre op with a very good surgeon one day when i was at her house and she asked if she could come with me, i scheduelled 2 appointments for us. the pre op went great and as i'd been looking into getting a breast augmentation for a while and had gone to other consults i was ready to book in! i told the secretary that i would call back with a dat that week. after talking about it we decided to get our breast augmentation on the same day!

waiting the 5 weeks untill our surgery day was torture! all we talked about was boobs! then finally it was the night before! we showered in the antisceptic wash and went to bed. the next morning we got up early and had another shower then walked to the bus stop. We caught the train for an hr and a half down to the gold coast where the doctors surgery is located. we were not allowed to eat or drink anything that morning so by the time we got there we were starving!!! we signed in together and the nurse took our heart rate etc. we were taken into the surgery change rooms and changed into our booties gowns and caps. we were being silly taking photos, etc. the nurse was probably wondering what was taking us so long

once we sat in the waiting room in our hospital gear i started to get nervous for the first time! my palms were sweating and i kept going on about the needle (I'm soooo scared of needles) the doctor arrived and i was like omg its actually going to happen! me and my bf had decided that i would go first so i went into a small room with the doctor and he drew lots of lines on me and i told him my final size desicion... l-365cc r-400cc.

he left me in the little room and told me to wait for the nurse so i sat on the little bed and waited for a couple of minutes. the nurse came and asked me if i was ready and off we went down the hall. we walked down to the surgery room and there was my doctor and a couple of nurses waiting for me! they helped me up onto the bed and put a warm blanket over me. i was telling them all about how i was so scared of needles that i would propbably go into shock lol. the anaethetist gave me the first needle and they were all joking around with meand i was looking at them and thinking 'i cant feel anything yet, i better shut my eyes though' and then i was waking up in recovery!!

i woke up and there was a nurse with me and i felt so groggy and my right arm was dead and i kept trying to ask where my best friend was and it was so hard to talk and she didn't understand me! she asked me how my pain was and i said a 2. i kept closing my eyes and falling asleep for about half and hour and then the nurse came and asked if i'm ready to go out to the recovery lounge and sit there??! i was like 'are you serious? you want me to walk down there?' she said "well we cant fly" and laughed and i asked her if she could at least carry me and she said no... soooo i got out of bed and she opened my gown and was saying "look down at your boobies" and i was saying "no thats ok" she was like "go on it ok they look great" and i said "nope, i'll look at them next week" lol. we walked down and i sat on the recliner. the nurse offered me some tea and i was like woohoo! i'm starved!

they brought my clothes over about half hour later and told me i could go get changed. i said "ummm can you get my mum to dress me" mum came in from the waiting area and took me to the toilet. i still wouldn't look down at my boobs.. i'm weird i know. i got so dizzy i knew i was going to faint so i got down on the bathroom floor. i stumbled out to my recliner and sat there with sweat rolling down my face. lol.

finally my best friend walked in with the nurse and it was great! we had sandwiches and jelly and tea and biscuits... lol. we were hungry! then they took one of the iv out (we had 2 each) and said we were free to go home so we went to the desk and i asked "what about the other iv??" and the nurse was like "oops! says they already took them out..." hmm...

after we were iv free we went down to the car with my mum and got into the car. she drove us the hour and a half home and then made us dinner. our boobs were completely numb! i kinda bumped into a wall with my boob and bounced off. lol. thank god for pain killers! me and my best friend and mum watched a dvd of the L word 'til 3am we were all on the big couch with lots of pillows to prop us upright. it was so hard to sleep that first night sitting up!

in the morning we got up took our pills and had some breakfast outside in the sun. i wasnt really in pain at all just uncomfortable! even though we had no bandages on it felt like we were tightly bandaged all around the chest. it was hard to take a deep breath! (to be continued after i eat)

that's so wonderful you got to share the experience with your best friend. it must have been nice to have that same support for the five weeks leading to the breast augmentation!!

ok where was i? umm.... the 2nd day my sister and mum helped us have a bath. (mum and sister stayed with us the first couple of days). it felt good even though the hot water kinda made the swelling worse! we got out and were so tight!! sat there and massaged bio oil into ourselves for ages and it feels so good!! we went for a walk around the back yard and streched our arms up to shoulder height as we had been instructed by the recovery nurse. i didn't really take any painkillers for the first couple of days because honestly i was not in any pain. i was uncomfortable sometimes when i felt like i had someone sitting on my chest but no real pain. i was so bloated that i looked like i was like, 6 months pregnant! i definately think the bloating is by far the worst part of the whole recovery! so i took a couple of senna laxatives at bedtime and hoped that in the morning i would be back to normal

day 3 i woke up and owwwchie! had the worst pain in my right insicion like someone is stabbing me! looked it up on JBI and apparently its all normal! the senna laxatives gave me cramps but... thats about as far as it goes

my stomach was so big and round!! mum suggested we go for a walk to get things moving so i took another 4 laxatives (i'm very very impatient!) and we went for a walk around the neighbourhood. walking and moving around definitely makes me feel better. it really loosens the muscles up and makes them feel less tight! still no luck with the whole toilet thing so i took another 2 laxatives at bedtime. lol i couldnt stand the bloat! well this is probably TMI but by day 4 they finally did their job! woohoo! but i was disappointed to see i was still soooo bloated

i looked it up on JBI and apparently its normal to be bloated like this for 1 week to 1 month! argh!

i'm on day 6 now and feel great! feel like i'm not that big but hopping i will get a little bigger as i d&f! mum is coming over later tonight so i'm excited about her washing my hair! yaaayyy!! we have our 1st post op tomorrow morning so that will be good... hopefully they dont have to take the dressing off my inscisions yet. ouch!
