Amerie's boobsperiance!

Well its taken me a couple of days to feel up to sitting on the computer for any length of time, but I'm now on day 3 and not feeling TOO bad, so here goes, its a long one

Got up at 4am Tuesday and my lovely boyfriend drove us to Birmingham. We got to the hospital about half 8 and got taken to my room straight away.

Everything started off just great, had my preop with the nurse, blood pressure, urine test, got changed into my gown and fancy paper knickers ( )

Then it all went pear shaped, my appointment was for 9am but it got to 11 and noone seemed to know when I was going in. 12pm and bf went off to find someone, had a nurse come in and tell us that the implants hadnt arrived yet, noone knew where the van was, but they should be here by 2pm! By this time we were both a bit pissed off, I got a bit upset as well, so come 2pm bf goes on a mission again, comes back with another very apologetic nurse who tells us that the implants had been taken to another hospital by mistake but they were on their way here now. Great, neither of us had eaten since 6pm the night before, so he got some toast and tea, and I just sniffed it :-p

Surgeon came in about 4pm, took my before photos and drew lots of blue lines on me. I asked him what profile the implants were going to be, he said he normally uses high profile ones with small ribcages like mine, which was fine, and I told him I'd prefer it if he could fit the 450cc's in.

Long story short, I got called in at 7:30pm... very much relieved. Put my surgical stockings and hat on and walked to the operating room. Anaesthetic people were lovely, the IV didnt hurt at all, just pinched a bit til she taped it on, then couldnt feel it. Told me they were going to put some anti nausea meds in first, then send me to sleep, and to think of something nice (steak and chips), then there was this cold feeling creeping up my body, felt hard to breath for a second, then it was ok again, then even before I thought i'd been asleep, they were waking me up! So odd.

Had a nurse covering me in blankets, and one asking me where i got my hair dye from

Spent about 30 mins in recovery trying to stay awake, then they wheeled me to the room, bf stayed a few mins then went to the travellodge and I just napped on and off, couldnt really feel anything, just knew there were lumps down there somewhere.
Didnt even know I had drains in til they took them out the next morning, that didnt hurt either, got a fair bit of blood and gunk out though.

Finally got some toast the next morning, 36 hours after i'd last eaten! Appetite is very small at the minute though, i cant eat much. Then got discharged at 9:30am Wednesday, so only 14 hours after the op itself.

Didnt feel sick at all til Thursday morning, felt pretty awful for the first couple of hours, then forced down my tablets and had some porridge and it went off a little after that. I have antibiotics, ibuprofen and co-codamol to take, nothing too strong which suprised me.

I'm not allowed to wear the bra for a week, so they're uncovered at the mo, feeling very high and tight and a bit pointy but i'm sure even today they're a bit better than yesterday. I'm a bit scared to touch them to be honest, cant massage til 2 weeks which is probably a good thing. They dont hurt themselves, just the incision and the drain sites are pulling a bit, specially when you try and get in and out of a chair. My god, you dont realise how much you use your chest muscles! Cant even blow my nose lol

Still not feeling up to going out yet, am just wandering round the house, then napping, then eating a bit, but each day is a little easier so far.... just the slight nausea on day 2 and 3 is tough to cope with.

Found out on the implant card that they actually put in 450cc VERY high profiles, so might be a bit bigger than I thought! I'm really pleased with the size so far though, even if they dont feel like they're mine yet, I can see their potential :-p

Thanks everyone for your advise and support anyway, it would have been a much scarier thing to go through if it hadnt been for this board

There's my breast augmentation buddy! I've been wondering how you're doing for 3 days! Oh, I do hope you feel better very soon! I'd say, though, that we're both over the worst of it, and it's all downhill from here!

These are for you; you definitely earned them!!!!

Cheers guys

Day 4 and its definatley getting better, got a decent range of movement with my arms now, still flushing the loo with my foot though! I may make that a permanent thing

The nausea is getting much better, cutting down on the co-codamol a bit too, AND (fanfares) I slept a bit on my side last night! Woo!

Going to do some slow food shopping this afternoon, working up to driving to my 1st post-op appointment on monday, should be ok, my car is pretty easy on the gears.

Boobs are still pretty tight and numb, not allowed to massage yet, but they definatly respond to light stroking in the mornings (from me, not the bf just yet ), just seems to loosed up the muscles a bit.

All in all its going pretty well *touch wood*

Congrats on your new boobs! I'm glad to hear that you're feeling better. I bet it will feel good to get out of the house of a while.

great story

I really enjoyed your story. I could relate to all the details except the lost van with the implants. Congrats on your breast augmentation. I have high profile 430's due to small rib cage also. I guess that's common.

Drtush, dont you love the size... I'm so pleased with the hp's

Just thought I'd update this, I went for my 1 week appt on Monday, got my dressings taken off and the stitches snipped off. The rest of the stitches are dissolvable so they'll go in their own time.

I've started wearing my sports bra now, which I'm actually quite pleased about, walking round with no bra on was making the boobs quite sensitive!
And next week I can start massaging, pushing them together and pushing them downwards, apparently that'll help with the clear area between my boobs and will soften them up nicely too.

They're definatly less pointy now, starting to get a more rounded shape, and I think righty is a little lower than lefty, but that might be my imagination.

Driving isnt too much hassle now, still cant reach things on high shelves but hey, thats what partners are for
