Bangkok breast journey from Aussie! Chic 340cc hp

well, wow where do I start. So much happened. I'm not sure whether to talk about my Bangkok experience or just my breast augmentation story. I might have to add in bits and pieces and leave out some.I'd also add in what's important for those who are thinking about going there ok

Sunday the 30th of August 10am was my scheduled time so I arrive to Yanhee at 9am. There are 2 help desks on the right. The international desk is the one with the wall behind it on the right just so you know. I walk up to the ppl and wait a little while before being approached by an international rep/interpreter. She then asks me a few questions about my appointment time then takes me up a few levels to the plastic surgery department.
On the way a foreign lady interrupts and she then focuses her attn to the other lady. This I came learn after having "Ora" represent me for a few days is just the way she handles her clients. She never introduced herself either I picked it up during her conversations with others, most nurses didn't either which was something I added in the feedback form.

The hospital is nothing fancy it really is just like your public hospital. But it really lived up to my standards being a non govt funded hospital. The saline drip sacks are marked with masking tape and pen.Girls on roller blades delivering files to and fro.The nurses and counter assistants are dressed in immaculate SHORT SKIRT pastel suits and heels.Very hot.Seriously if you are one who judges the book by the cover and is over critical of others then you won't like this place cos the young nurses are very hot with their hot bods and tiny skirts. But they are mostly softly spoken and kind after speaking to them.

K, it's 10:45am my PS finally arrives. He asks me a few things of what I want and which preferred language are we to communicate in. Firstly. we started off speaking Thai but then english was somehow thrown in every second word lol.Dr Virat Osatherlert was very kind softly spoken, good english and asked what I wanted. I then decide oh high profiles 34occ. So funny before breast augmentation i was so like "nooo definitely no HP" but in the end I had no choice if I wanted to be bigger.

K, you have to go in with a list of questions too as the doctors there generally won't ask you " so do you have any questions to ask me?" at the end. Cause they explain everything to you but but basics. like for eg. "I will use 340 hp silicon allergan brand on you ok" so I had to speak to him 2 times before surgery. He came to answer my questions everytime I needed an answer. "like he could've told me like "I will use 340cc HP textured round silicon on you, allergan brand" or something but he didn't. So have your list ready to save time

A drip is then inserted into me. Apparently I have no vein so they did it 4 times 3 times on my left hand and once in my right. A head nurse then finally came to my rescue and inserted the last and perfect needle :S

10:45pm I am taken into the operating room and then I ask to speak to my Surgeon again b4 surgery. next thing you know a lady introduces her self
"hi, I am going to put you to sleep how are you today?" before I could answer I felt drowsy. It was as if my curtains were being closed before the show was to end.

I assume I had surgery.......lol. it was over in no time.
"khun Monica wake up" was all i heard a few times I looked around couldn't really keep my eyes open. I was freezing I tell the nurses that and they placed an electric blanket over me and a blow dryer to warm me in the meantime. It was great until I was too hot and couldn't talk much so I lifted my legs so everything would fall off.
"khun Monica, don't do that, why are you being naughty?see everything is falling off now" hehehe they nurses were cute. after doing that a few times I finally had they words to say "hot". lol

No kidding when I woke up, I said "Please take it out of me I want to go home"
It is the most uncomfortable thing like an itch. Like being woken up in the middle of the night and it's too hot only to have the heater on too so it's double hot and not being able to cool down fast enough. that's how I felt. Not the hot sensation but being in a situation I couldn't control.

Bed transfer:
Omg I felt like a chunk of piled crap! lol they put a board under you to transfer you to your recovery bed. It was painful!! I felt everything!
like my weight just dropping on the bed that I was to be transferred on. It was only a 10cm slide but omg I almost died LOL I really felt like they were dumping me.

I take pain very well so I didn't go the morphine drip. I wish I did. My first 2 days were crap. my third day was the magic number. Twelve hours after surgery I forced myself to sit up and walk to the rest room. My niece is a scientist in a hospital and tells me to try to walk on the first day for better recovery time.Seriously please go the morphine drip to avoid that trash dumping feeling LOL I gave birth to my daughter naturally.22hours in labour and did it drug free.So I thought "look if I can do that I can do anything!" God I was wrong. I know everyone's different but I feel I could give birth 10 times naturally, yes it killed but I would do it over one breast augmentation any day LOL

Please ask for painkillers they won't just bring them to you. I took painkillers 4 times over all. I hate taking meds even when I have the flu whatever I try to fight things off naturally but I did take the antibiotics as prescribed.

So, i stayed in hospital for 2 days. Getting up without that cool recliner bed was a challenge at the hotel.Took me like 30 minutes each morning until the 5th day. Once I almost pee'd myself but couldn't move fast enough! It was funny at the time even to myself. I did sleep in a chair but somehow woke up half way down the chair each morning. Please go with a friend. I was too confident doing this alone. I contacted Rachel from here about prices on her acc but she didnt reply to me so I just went ahead to book my stay at Phet Park resident for the first 5 days then transferred to this awesome location.

Day 7:
stitches are getting removed and I was afraid but to be quite honest it doesn't hurt, just uncomfortable same as the massaging.

Yanhee hospital:
If you don't mind the public hospital appeal then do it. I love my new assets. I think my PS was kind to me and didn't rush me and did a great neat job.The nurses are wonderful.Better then private hospitals here and mostly speak english just speak slower to them and no big words

Bangkok:
If you can over look the dirtiness of this place then go and do it at Yanhee. Yanhee is located in the slums of the city in my eyes. like think of slumdog millionaire and that's how it is around the yanhee region. But overall a very dirty city.Major buildings need to be cleaned. But with that said "yanhee itself is VERY CLEAN" just the suburb is dirty.

Phet Park:
850THB per night. Location was hidden away from the busy streets so it was good. Modern, clean, free internet. The staff were so wonderful and the room service food was AWESOME and cheap. Like 50THB a serving and 5THB for rice and so I ate their food 3 times a day! A 24hour security sits at the entrance and it had cctv surveillance 24hours. Also they have english channels for TV.

Baiyoke Suite Hotel:
(tell taxi pronounced Bay-yolk number 2 or Bay-york number 2)
This place is a must to stay for shoppers!$52USD per night. like right on ground level the shops are bursting at you LEFT RIGHT CENTRE! SHOPPERS DREAM!! lol and when you have enough of the market styled shops. you can take a taxi meter to MBK another great shopping place close by (60THB taxi meter), "SIAM PARAGON" designer lovers dream shopping complex (60-70THB taxi), then walk over to "Siam centre" for more affordable shopping! Avoid the "Pink Lao complex" it's just like a westfield shopping centre nothing special and I didn't see any foreigners.umm where else did I go nearby.Pratunam, just a 5 minute walk from Baiyoke. Also, baiyoke area was slightly cleaner then yanhee suburbs. It is rated 3-4 stars but IMO it's 2 stars.

Chatuchak Market- weekend only market
tell the taxi "JJ mall"
Ok this place is a must if you like the flea market type of shopping please google it! it has EVERYTHING!! please go at 10am no earlier as the shops are not all open any earlier. Also, the map says "USED CLOTHING" it is not used clothing.LOL i think they meant vintage styled clothing. This place on that side are exciting new and upcoming designers of Thailand, who are trying to be heard. Most of them also have stores over at the SIAM shopping complex. The designers and makers sit there trying to sell their garments,so inspirational. It is quality made and so cheap like a dress was 290THB ask for a discount 250THB was what I paid so that's like $9 buck or something for a dress that was Whistles quality(australian store with lots of designer labels) and style. I was in heaven.

Taxi meter:
Please do not get in a taxi without a meter. It is illegal in Thailand to run taxi's without one. Also, make sure they run it. Some turn it on at the start then turn it off. Just look over to the front and find it and make sure you let them know you did this that should be sufficient for them to turn it on.

From the airport to BKK should cost you no more then 350THB. there are 2 tolls along the way 20THB and a 45THB. YOU WILL PAY YOURSELF! LEGIT DRIVERS WILL TURN AROUND AND POLITELY ASK YOU. the guy that drove me paid himself.I acted as a real foreigner not understanding thai and he tried to charge me 1200THB even tho the meter said 297THB BASTARDS report those ppl who try to make others look bad. I paid him 420THB and told him next time don't ask people will tip you accordingly. SO PLEASE PAY ONLY WHAT THE METER SAYS. and tip if you want.

If going to flea style markets ask for a price and bargain them from half. they will probably add 20THB to it or something. they so rip foreigners off bad! lol
A kid bought a shirt for 180THB but I paid 75THB without even asking for a discount right after him.

ok that's it from me PM me if u want to know more ok like price list etc
heheh i spoke more about shopping then my breast augmentation but i now know I'm such a brave cat for doing it alone. I can't even believe I did.

most importantly, I couldn't get out of bed for a few days. Every time I felt a new sensation I had answers to. Thanks to my late nights I stayed up on JBI. Without this site I would've been confused and probably felt sad and depressed.hahaha I love my JBI sistas! you guys all helped me out so much.

I love my new breasts. I felt they were small at the start (B cups) but I knew they would d&f so that was expected. Now a week later and yes I am a c cup already. They move now too and softer. I so can't wait! I feel patient and happy and because of you ladies gave me tips on what to expect. Also thank you to the JBI moderators. You rock!

hehe i wanted full c cups now i think i want D's somehow I feel like I might end up a D too we'll see! xo

hey

In total the cost was 4600AUD acc plus airfare

The shopping MSAdelaide. you know our whistles shop here. seriously they had all that stuff at the stores and stalls there for under $10AUD. I'm spewing I only spent 1k there. their bangles are like $3AUD fashionable necklaces $3-5AUD. Quality genuine leather handbags $50AUD tho the designs were a bit not me so I bought mine from dutyfree.lol

Also, if anyone is thinking about going to Thailand
PLEASE STEER CLEAR OF 7 ELEVEN CONVENIENT STORES

they over charge by so much. My first morning there I wandered the local streets got thirsty and being afraid still to buy from stalls there so I went into 7 eleven. Conversion calculator in my mind was just switched off as I was still trying to fit in and so I bought a bottle of 300ml water for 400THB. WTH later I was like damn that bottle cost me $14-$15AUD!!!!! omg hahahaha never again. btw a bottle of water in BKK is 10-20THB I paid 400THB so
7 ELEVEN NO NO lol

hey rachel

yeah, i hadn't confirmed my booking yet with the hotel so I was considering you as I went alone. Also, u said you had someone coming from ADL or MELB too around the same time so I thought oh yeah.

About the price enquiry, I had to clear my inbox as it was full so I didn't know your prices you were charging. I wish i was doing your job!it's like looking after international students and them paying off your mortgage lol! I wish I stayed with you for the first 3 days tho.getting out of bed was tough! lol but I managed. i have also rec you to some ppl from here. hope that helps

Yeah, I just remembered currency rates. I think it is better if you go to change your currency at nearby offices at wherever you're staying. i changed mine at the airport when I arrive as I thought it would be best and safe. Not only was I wrong but they had the worst exchange rates 26-27THB for every $1AUD.

The currency exchange offices are everywhere there and about safety? you can go into their little office to do it.They also had better rates 28-29THB, but 28.18THB was more common.

Food:
170-200THB was a common price for a meal plus drink. These were at restaurants for foreign food. But for thai food you can get it at half that price sometimes less. A dish served at thai restaurants can be bought for 45THB-100THB.

Fruit:
I'm sure all will try at some point! well please do! I miss it already!
there are ppl with their little cart around every where selling fresh fruit at your selection for 20THB. they cut it up too. Just point ask how much and smile. no one should be selling it for more then 20THB same goes for the food cart per serving.

ummm what else, haha! when coming back remember that the arrival gate has that long walk out to the terminal where everyone waits for their rellies. i had no one and I was dressed like a bum!Longest 10 second walk ever! Some ppl were looking at me up and down! hahaha
I was in shorts, suit jacket, Black singlet with white sports bra showing up the top, some fob thongs i got from the markets and the thing u put over your eyes to block out light over my head as a head band as my hair was everywhere! Man I was dressed for comfort! too comfortable.

fashion jewellery:
JJ mall had the most expensive prices 200THB-270THB per piece after bargaining I managed 150THB but go around the Baiyoke area. Without bargaining they are 100-120THB so I didn't bother trying for a discount.

Shoes:
they are everywhere around 200-300THB per pair. But if you go to the shopping complex they are around 600-1500THB

Handbags:
strangely enough I didn't see any fakes apart from at JJmall. Like others had copied style but not badged whatever.around $50 bucks per quality leather bags at stalls.even their department stores have nice bag for heaps cheap I think still $30-$80AUD. It was a shame I was on my last $100 and trying to budget

T-shirts:
are around 70-200THB you shouldn't be paying anymore then that even for puma, diesel, adidas whatever! the best was at baiyoke area.

Internet:
20THB per hour at the actual internet cafes but around 40THB per half an hour at shopping complexes.

Oh for the sweet tooth, if you get a chance please go to SIAM CENTRE shopping complex and find "BAPPLES".A coffee shop with yummy donuts the "Marble Duke" is a must. I'm salivating just thinking about it.Craps all over krispy kremes and trust me I lurrve kk's.

most importantly, take your antibiotics. I had 5 different meds prescribed 4x daily. NO way! they were mostly painkillers but I just took the anti-flam and the antibiotics.

Bandage:
also my bandages were removed at Day 2. My PS told me to wear a sports bra from now for 6 weeks. Please get the band extenders I was desperate and cut it off my old bra and used a safety pin. You are very swollen and it will be way too tight. I almost fainted so the nurse put me back in bandages until I got back to the hotel. It should not be too tight but snug what i was told.

I'm very happy your experience at Yanhee was abit better than mine, -and btw great description of the hospital, reading it really reminds me about my day there.. haha the bed transfer was awful!! dumping really is the right word lol.

Shopping ummm let me see....

I shopped the day before breast augmentation at chatuchak weekend market. not all is great there but there are about 10 stalls down one side with great quality cheap clothes! it's so worth visiting if you can stand the heat.

K, I had my doubts about Thailand and surgery ever since I was a young...er girl. I mean being raised by Australian standards and hygiene the slightest dust was a put off to me in asia.

My friend got hers done there in 2001.I was still not convinced. Our other friend went to yanhee in 2006 too to get hers done. I was still not convinced until after much recent research and having them flash their boobs to me this year.lol sorry ladies I needed convincing.

Then I was sold! I mean it's been years and they are still ok so I was like "ok"

The reasoning has to be the cost that was the first reason why I even contacted yanhee.Secondly........hmmm I can't say for a holiday cos I knew I was there for surgery.Shopping didn't even cross my mind until I got there reason why I only carried $1k on me

I would recommend it as long as you don't mind the public hospital appeal. But the surrounding it's in is just not good enough. If the shopping weren't so good I would not go back to Bangkok.I would spend my time in Chiang Mai and Phuket area instead.

Day 5:
It had to be that day that I started shopping I could only carry 1 kilo at a time,so lucky my hotel was in the middle of everything that I could just go back and come back again.lol. I probably could've shopped earlier but nothing motivated me at the hotel I stayed at before Baiyoke suite. I really recommend Baiyoke for it's location. But like I said It is more like 2 stars not 3-4 stars like they claim.

Regrets:
I wish I had gone bigger, just a tad 50cc.I was afraid my family would be confused if I went too big and that it wouldn't suit me. But now it's in me I know now I could've handled it with elegance still.

Packing regrets:
Also, i regret packing too much. My suit case weighed 10kilos when I went and all it contained was creams! Moisturiser,Toner, cleanser,Insect repellent, stretch mark prevention cream.Gastro tablets, stool softeners, nurofen, vicks ointment, bandaids, miniature shampoo/conditioner (lasted all week) lol well as you can imagine it was all liquids and creams which I'd left behind. I only packet 2 tops,2 pants,1 bra and a handful of underwear.

Don't bother packing too much cos trust me you wouldn't be able to resist buying things.A singlet, shorts and thongs is enough.Too hot to wear shoes and they weigh alot. That's all i'm packing next time. Oh and it's very hot for makeup so mineral make up will be best if you really have to. I saw young foreign girls wearing tons of make up and I was like "don't you feel the heat? and you look all hot and bothered, and ridiculous with blotched make up streaking down your face! lol

Accommodation Regrets:
Knowing what I know now. I wish I booked in the phet park hotel for just 1 day then check out.Because I stayed until the 1st in hospital .so that was 3 days and 2 nights. Then I wish I had went straight to Baiyoke suite. So if you want to do this pack little. You can take your lugguage to Yanhee too. They always lock the door when you are not in there. I was booked in Phet park for 5 days and only stayed 2.Could've had more money for shopping LOL.(baiyoke booking @ hoteltavel.com)

oh also another tip

Toliets:
It will cost you 2-5THB to use their toilet at some places. Yes there is seriously someone sitting at the front just like at a bar collecting entry fee.lol common cost was 3THB. 5THB was with tissue.I carried my own kleenex pocket sized tissue everywhere just in case as the toilet door B!^@&es hahah will only give you about 10 sheets.

but it sounds like so much fun and exciting. nurses on rollerblades hahah love it.
what was the reasoning behind going there for surgery? cost, surgeons, holiday?
would you seriously recommend going there to other girls??

may be an option when im up for a redo one day! could make a holiday out of it. and cram the shopping in before breast augmentation lol.

thanks for the story. was great.
