![]() | Good Morning BA- Today is day 1!!!
I will put pictures up tomorrow! I can not wait to show you all. I got up this morning at six-thirty. Took my shower and got ready, which was weird, with no contacts, lotion or lip chap. The drive to the surgical center was full of traffic and thick fog cover. It took forty minutes to go twelve miles! Every nurse and assistant went above and beyond to make me feel great and comfortable. I about fainted four times. I don't know why, it may have been nerves or the adrenaline rush that was coming and going. The anesthia doctor gave me a hemaglobin something in my iv after the third almost faint and oxygen through my nose and I did start feeling better. Every nurse and doctor would ask me my name, date of birth and what procedure I was going to have before they would do anything medical to me. That was reassuring. I had cuffs placed on each calf that alternated pressure like a pressure cuff, this was to force the blood in my legs back to my heart. This was because the anesthia put me into such a deep state of sleep. I not only got a warm/hot blanket, I also got this baggy type blanket placed under the heavy cotten one that constantly had warm air blowing into it to keep me warm. Being under so much anesthia also drops your body temp. The nurse Mary Lou gave me booty socks to keep my feet warm. She also gave me a local in my arm before the iv, how awesome! I have only had a couple iv's before and no one had ever done that. The anesthesiologist doctor did not stay for the surgery, but a specialized anesthia nurse did. She was way cool too. I remember going into the operating room and medicine going into my iv, then I was out! Waking up Emmy was with me. She got real close to me and checked under my gown, she told me 'they are beautiful"! She asked me if I wanted to see and reassured me again that the girls looked beautiful. I did get nausaus after I woke up, but just had the dry heaves. I was given a shot of demoral, a valume and, again, I don't remember what was put into my iv but in minutes I felt wonderful. I was in the recovery room for about an hour and a half. Then my hubby brought the car around and we were off. I have to brag on my husband. He is way to wonderful, caring just enough, touching me just enough, complimenting me just enough. Usually I am the type to get sort of irritated by clinging behavior, but not once have I became irritated with him. He really did his homework. He has all the meds on a time chart and checks when he gave me what, he doesn't let me slack on the arm raises or the inhalation thing. Ok, I just caught myself dozing off. I will continue my story tomorrow and I will try and post a couple pics. G'night all |

The first thing I ate was Sonic. My husband said it was time to start the meds. So with a carmel mocha javva and a sonic frito burrito thing I was on my way. I didn't think that I would be able to sit in the front seat of the car for the ride home, I was. When we got back to Columbia we stopped by and saw a couple of friends. I didn't think that I would be able to see people for days. This is all going so much better than I ever could have thought. With our son Ethan at his aunt and uncles Shane and I were able to watch Vampire Diaries. A whole tv show with out interruptions. Tv is impossible with a almost three year old. I miss him soooo much already. Ethan will be home later today. Shane says that my breathing is really shallow and I can not bring the third ball up on the inhalation thing. I started ice first thing this morning. I did ice time twice last night. Definatley helps but I can really not feel if I am letting my skin get too cold, I definatley have to be careful. While I am washing my face I will have my husband download the pics to put on! |

I'm feeling ok, I am feeling really tight and have a little bit of a sharper pain on my left side. I suppose that one is going to be a little more sore longer until it drops (that implant is twice as big) I would still do this all again in a heartbeat. It was definitely worth it. Thanks so much for everyone checking on me and the best wishes. That is really helping me get through these next few days.
