I'm back with boobs!

Here's my story, so far...

I had to be at the surgery center at 8AM yesterday to fill out some release forms, etc. As I was doing that, my PS called to sya he was going to be an hour late. My hubby was annoyed, but I was thrilled it wasn't cancelled since we have a snow storm the day before. They brought me back, I got my wonderful blue gown on & compression stockings. They startes my fluids in my IV, sent me into the bathroom and my PS arrived. I said my goodbye to my hubby, and off I went. My anesthiologist gave me "the I don't give a hoot" medicine to help me relax. I remembr going into the OR and that was it. After waking up, my hubby and nurse were asking if I have been taking ibuprophine because I was bleeding A LOT. I followed his directions exactly, so I don't know what the proble was. I was in the OR for 4.5 hour since I got a lift & implands.

So at about 4pm (I think) I got home. I don't remember the ride home at all. My hubby helped me up the stairs into my comfy recliner. Just a tip for the girls who haven't had their breast augmentation yet...Get a recliner! My hubby bought me one that has a power button to lower and raise the feet. They also rent mechanical recliners at Rent A Center (if your in the US). I think they are $99 for two weeks and they will deliver and pick it up. It's well worth the money. We put mine in our bedroom, in front of the TV & near the bathroom.

I also got a pain pump which seem to be helping. It's not bad at all. I also have percocet and Valium. I have a lot of pressure and soreness. I can't unvail them unti Thursday. I will write more later, my meds are kicking in now!

Happy TaTas!!

thanks for the story...sorry you had the bleeding, but sounds like everything is good to go now!

I love the "rent-a-chair" idea! I suggest it as well...when I got remarried, I "allowed" hubby to bring his old blue recliner; MAN was I glad I did post-breast augmentation!! I camped out there for weeks...couldn't really sleep anywhere else. Every once in a while it is still a great place to work out some kinks during the night.

I also invested in some wonderful pillows...I'm having a brain-fart and can't remember the name...but it's those foamy ones that conform to your shape. LOVE them!!

Anyway....REST!! CongratS!!

Hello, the bleeding sounds kind of scary, perhaps do you drink herbal teas or take herbal meds? I heard that can cause a lot of bleeding. Your recovery seems to be going well. I heard the pain pumps work wonders. Congratulations and I hope your recovery continues to go well. Get lots of rest and pampering!

Allison,

I've been thinking of you, ur fellow Marylander lol. I am so glad for u that they didn't have to cancel ur breast augmentation, that would have totally sucked!!! It was still pretty messy here that morning. Sorry about all the bleeding !!! Take it easy & rest. Let us know how it goes at ur Unveiling tomorrow.

Take Care,

Darlene

1st Post-op Down!

I just got back from my 1st PO visit. My breast augmentation was on Mon. My PO was today at 1:00. I have to say, I was dreading not being able to take a shower, but I really don't care. If you knew me you would think I lost my mind! It just seems like way too much work right now!

So the unveiling went well. Do to the lift, I was expecting "Frankenboobies" ya know, stitched up, bruised, swollen monster boobies. I was pleasantly surprised (it also could have been the drugs). They didn't look too bad/ The only problem is that my left boob is sitting higher than the right side. So my PS strapped me down with the fabulous strap. I go back on Monday afternoon. Hopefully I'll be evening out by then. h other issue is that he said I need to decreased my meds, I've been taking 3 percocets & a Valium every 4 hours. I'm all about being comfortable, so we'll see how that works out.

As for the size, he went with 400cc silicone umder the muscle. I cant wait till I can put them into a bikini! My PS also said he doesn't recommend sports bras or regular bras...he likes his patients in camisoles with shelf bras - which sound really comfortable.

My pain pump should be ready to come out tomorrow evening or Saturday. I don't have anything to compare it to, but I certainly think it helped! I'll keep you all up to date with my progress!!

I put some info in my prior post. I didn't know tpp much about them but did as much research as I could. Mine was $400 more and I think it was worth it. It's basically this balloon like ball (the size of a softball) that has tiny tubes coming out of it that are implanted directly into each breast. A numbing medicine is released automatically into the breast over a period of five days (some only last 3 or 4). This helps numb your actual breast, muscles & incisions. After 5 days, the balloon deflates and you take the tape off and gently pull out the tubes & place bandaids over them. I havn't had much pain - mostly muscle related under my armpits and back. Talk to your doc about the pump, from what I hear, not all use them.

Boobies Part Two!

So the surgery is over and I never came to the conclusion of why there was so much bleeding. I don't drink herbal teas, and never took any supplements other than the ones my PS recommendeded which should not have caused blood thinning. I also stopped any type of ibuprophen about 1 month prior to surgery, so who knows?

I'm wearing my strap to hopefully lower my left boob. This is also a bit odd since I'm right handed and seem to be grabbing my drinks etc. w/my right hand. So you would think that my right boob would have been raised rather that the left. So we'll see what happens w/the strap. It's tight and a bit uncomfortable but it's worth it. Has anyone had experience with the strap, and did it work??

I pulled out my pain pump today before my shower. They had it taped up pretty good so after pulling all that off, we pulled out the tubes. The left side was OK, the right hurt a bit more. I got a little dizzy feeling and sat down for a few. I then got a shower with the help of my hubby. For the most part, I've been eating crackers all week. Today I ate a piece of pizza, but I have been drinking a lot of fluids all week. Needless to say, I havn't done a "#2".I started taking stool softener today!

I've got some pain in the boobies, my nipples look like they are healing great. My PS did a nipple reduction, They look nice and round. I've been taking pictures daily and hope to get a yahoo site up to help out everyone thinking about doing this.
