Rapid Recovery and Pain Pump my Journey

I want to share my experience with everyone. I had the rapid recovery and pain pump which helped in my post-op recovery greatly!

I am a 30 year old mother of three daughters. Breastfed all three for 12 months. I have always been an A cup, except when breastfeeding, I was a 32DD/E then and loved my breast. They were so full and nice and I loved it so much. I noticed each time I breastfed my breast got smaller and smaller.

When I started my consultation's I was a 32A (6 and 6.5 breast measurement).

I met with Dr. Christian A Prada in August 2006 and just fell in love with him, we was great and so informative. After the consult with him I decided to schedule my surgery date. I had it scheduled for the end of August but by the time I got home I pushed it back a week to September 1st. My mom and hubby had an extra day off work b/c it was a holiday weekend.

I went into the consultation's wanting a C and HP's. After many consults with my PS we decided on Mods and either 360cc or 390cc. I decided I wanted a D/DD so the morning of my surgery I told my PS to give me the 390cc implants and he did. I was able to go up to 420cc but I was too afraid at the time of being too large.

He gave me 390cc in the left and 420cc in the right. I was THRILLED when I saw what I had. I am a small framed gal. I'm 5'2" 105 lbs so to have large breast was amazing to me.

He did the rapid recovery which is using as much caution as possible when creating the pocket. I had areola incision and my scars now (6 months post-op) look amazing. I am still a bit numb on some parts of my breast but I'm starting to get some feeling back.

I also had the pain pump which is a numbing medication that delivered medication to both breasts. The medication worked wonderfully and lasted for three full days. My husband removed the catheter tubes and I jumped in the shower. Medication lasted about 12 hours after it was removed.

I took a few Valiums to help me sleep at night and that was all I needed.

My breasts are very full and I love the width of my Mods, I am so very happy I ended up with mods. I love my side boob and it gives my thin figure a nice fullness. I couldn't be happier with my results. My PS did an awesome job and I cant even begin to thank him enough.

So far (knock on wood) I have had zero complaints/complications!!

My advice to anyone who wants this is......

DO IT!!

Do your research, not only on the implants but also the PS. Find one that listens to YOU and gives you explanations on why or why not you cant have something. Find one that makes you feel like you're the only patient he/she has, treats you good and listens to what you want.

I know they can be intimidating but express yourself, dont be afraid.

Also, after your operation CALL your PS with your concerns, even after hours. I called mine after I got home from surgery, later that night (like 10pm) with concerns of some drainage and he was very understanding and put me at ease. They are there for YOU, you paid a lot of money and your PS is there for you in this journey. Dont feel guilty about calling, ever!

Also keep in mind that complications happen, not to everyone but it's something to keep in mind and be prepared if it does happen.

I am so glad I did this for myself and so glad I found this wonderful forum with wonderful people!

Thanks for sharing your experience. I am going to STL Cosmetic Surgery, also. My PS is Dr. Herluf Lund. I love him. I also know 3 other women that all went to him and all love him. My breast augmentation is 3/1 - I am so excited, even more now that I read your post. I think my recovery will be just fine. Obviously, I will be doing the Rapid Recovery w/ the pain pump. Thanks again!

I am amazed at my recovery. On a scale of 1-10 for pain I would say mine was a 2 maybe a 3. Mostly I had pressure, notsomuch "pain". Even after the pump was removed I felt fine. I was driving fine on day 5 and it got better every single day. I have referred a few people to Dr. Prada (one from this forum) and I have no reservations on referring him, he was great.

From what I've read all the PS at STL Cosmetic Surgery are wonderful, I've also heard great things about Dr. White too.

What are you getting?

I ended up with 360cc on the right and 375 on the left. I'm 5'6 112 lbs, small deflated B pre-breast augmentation. I'm hoping to be a C when it's all said and done. You know what, though, anything fuller and prettier is better than what I had. I've been back to work since day 4 and I'm so glad. I've just had the best experience!

The pain pump was a god send. It enabled me to stretch and move my arms - best thing in the world. Did you take the valium they gave you? I did, and it really messed me up. I thought I needed it for sleep and I would wake up in the a.m. sick to my stomach, dizzy and feeling really foggy, and emotional. I did not take it last night, and this morning, I am a new woman - feel 1000% better.

I had my 5 day PO yesterday and Dr. Lund gave me the ok to hit the treadmill. And...I get to take this band off tomorrow! I'm so excited!

I took a few of the Valiums at night and didn't have any problems with it, slept a lot better than not taking it too. I only need it for a few nights though, then I stopped taking them. I had to wear the strap for 2 weeks, blech. Hated it! I go see Prada next Tuesday for my 6 month post-op. I'm excited to see what he has to say.

Question Please help!!!

I had my boobs done on Tuesday the 19th of may and am supposed to remove my pain pump today... I'm really scared of how it feels, so please anyone who's had one please share your experience with me. I am scared of that but I am more scared of the stitches, I apparently not only have the disolvable stitches in my nipple (insision site) but I also have traditional stitched that are coming out Tuesday. Please anyone who has had these also please tell me how it was for you. I would really appreciate it. Also, this site has helped me tremendously as I was deathly affraid of the anesthesia. I read through some posted experiences the day before my surgery and felt so much better, so thank you to all the ladies who have posted their experiences and in turn helped mine.
