Spark bought boobs: from conception to reality.

Its hard to imagine waking up one morning that by the end of the day you'll never be the same. Perhaps that's why I haven't been able to sleep. Am I making the right choice? What will my family think? Not to mention the vanity aspect of it, then the overwhelming thoughts of going to big? to small? over? under? incision?

I was never obsessed with my breasts. Yes, I wore padded bras but I didnt stare at myself thinking I was less of a woman by not having fully loaded Bs or Cs. Getting a breast augmentation was more of thought that fleeted when I would see these women in magazines or on tv. I'm not sure what happened - but one day about a month ago, I woke up and said, "I want breast implants."

I asked the opinions of my friends, and 90% of them were encouraging - that'd I'd look great. The boyfriend wasn't con but wasn't an advocate either. He told me the generic, "You'll be beautiful in whatever choice you make." lol

Well, I'm the type of girl who goes after what she wants - no holding back. So after some research on reputable doctors in the area, I made 7 appointments.

My consultations were funny, the first doctor I went to was so disorganized but seemed extremely mechanical. There, I felt more like a assembly line vs. a potential patient.

My second consult - I wanted to run out of there like a bat out of hell. She had absolutely no bedside manner and looked like she used waaaayy to much of her own product. She seemed to give me a back handed compliment. When she told me to put on the medical robe, I asked her if I should take everything off. She said, "no, not unless you want me to see anything else." I politely said no, and she replied, "Yea, you're pretty and just perfect the way you are." - dont get me wrong, it was nice of her to say; but the way she said it sounded like a green monster. I'm sorry if I was born 20 years after you!

My 3rd consult was perfect. He was perfect and I knew it from the minute I sat down. I ended up canceling my other 4 appointments that I made. He had bedside manner, I felt as if he cared about me. He even told me not to cut my hair after I complained it was too long. He said "Don't do it! I don't let my daughters cut their hair either." I laughed and booked my appointment.

So the waiting began. Had the boob dreams. Had anxiety. Made rice sizers. Talked about it to the bf so much that he swears he's a ps too. Then hallelujah - I found this site. It helped so much because the 2 days before my surgery I was a complete sleepless wreak.

This brings me to today, just 12 hours ago I was on the operating table. Mr. Dr and Anesthesiologist were so informative, and upbeat. They numbed the area for my I.V. which felt like a pin prick then a warming burning sensation. They were talking to me about the bf and his new tattoo sleeves, how I was feeling, and just trying to make me as comfortable as possible. The last thing I remember was my doctor smiling at me then I was out cold. When I woke up in recovery every single staff person in there came to say hi to me. The bf came in, held my hand and I was talkin jibber jabber about God knows what. They wheeled me out to the car and came home.

I'm not in much pain (thank you vicoden) just a bit of pressure. I'm not much of a wuss though... I can tolerate a lot of discomfort. I haven't had nausea, just have to pee like a race horse every 15 minutes or so. Its still so surreal that a thought on a whim a month ago has changed my appearance so drastically.

Anyway, I'll keep posting as the days go by. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to get bigger or smaller. Frankly, I think they look pretty good right now!

Haha reminds me of myself! I've always toyed with the idea of having my breasts done but everyone always acted like I was crazy (I was a natural D cup before) but only I knew how they looked when the bra came off! I literally woke up one morning and said to myself "I'm tired of waiting. I want to get this done." I did research online of PS in my area and made an appt the same morning! Had a consult 5 days later & loved my PS immediately. His pics of previous patients were great & he was so confident in his skill. Made an appt & 2 weeks later I had boobs! I didn't even have time to do a pre-op because they were able to schedule me pretty quick due to a cancellation. Congrats on your new boobies!! Oh BTW the swelling will go down in about 2 weeks & you may think "They look small!" DOn't worry. They drop & fluff & will get bigger!! You'll look great!

Hey Spark,

I read your story and found it very funny and useful. I have my surgery tomorrow morning and I am scared to death. Your story made me feel so much better. As you, I never really wanted to do it badly. Considered it but postponed it every time it would come to my mind. All of a sudden in 2 month period, I decided to do it. I had the sleepless nights, booby info ovearloaded hubby and the rice sizers and countless doc visits. I wondered if I should put myself through this whole ordeal... I was glad to see I am not alone ). Im glad to hear you are not in excruciating pain. I really hope I am one of the lucky women that dont experience a lot of pain. I wish you fast recovery and i would love keep up with your progress. Thank you
