Forget function, I wanted 'Feminine'. So I started looking and I found many references to having surgery in Thailand. The prices were as follows
Australia PS: $10500 AUD
Thailand PS: $3010 AUD
So after much researching I found a Hospital in Bangkok, Thailand that quite a few girls on JBI had used. I had it booked and organised but then after months of research and a few frustrating emails back and forth with the PS I started to become concerned that the doctor was not going to do what I wanted, but rather whatever he wanted on the day. I wanted unders- he would do overs, I wanted 450cc, he would do 370cc etc. Then a friend that I had made on here went to Bumrungrad Hospital in Bangkok, she had a great experience and had AMAZING results, so I decided to look into going to him instead. I kept both appointments, one at Yanhee hospital and one at Bumrungrad the next day. That way if I got there and saw both I could make an informed decision. They were both much the same price, but Bumrungrad worked out to be a few hundred dollars cheaper than Yanhee if you got implants over 400cc. So My husband and I flew over to Thailand and were taken straight from the airport to Yanhee hospital. We were a little scared at first, it was nothing like the hospitals we have here in Australia. It was extremely busy and hectic. We were herded from room to room, and then left waiting around from 10am- 3.30pm to see the doctor. We had just come straight from a long flight and we were 'fasting' and we were the only westerners in a see of faces. The nurses were all dressed in these teeny tiny outfits and when we asked them questions they smiled alot but we couldn't get a lot of information. We were wondering at this point if we had made a big mistake. By mid afternoon we were ready to leave, but as if they knew they took us in (finally) to see the PS. He was nice - Dr Suthat and he let me try on sizers in my bra.. but he said that he would do 375cc HP silicone. I really wanted a little larger, and when I pressed he showed me the sheet of paper that showed what they had in stock, and they didn't have the larger size that I wanted anyway. So there was no point pressing the issue! I told him that I was not going to go ahead with the surgery, and he proceeded to consult with my husband who was booked in to have a deviated septum surgery (nose) with him too. He showed pics of his previous nose surgeries and they were very good results, and he had specialised in that area, so my husband decided to go ahead. So we went back to the hospital room and my husband was prepped for surgery. At about 6.30pm they wheeled him down to surgery and I anxiuosly waited. I was so consumed with the worries of his surgery that I didn't have enough energy to worry about my own surgery plans. 3 hours later my husband came back, looking like he'd been in a car accident, but alive! I almost fainted when I saw him like that, I wondered "what have we done?". I stayed with him all night, and it was the longest night of my life. The nose packing was so far back it was obstructing his airways, and the swelling made it VERY hard for him to breathe. He was not getting enough oxygen and every time he drifted off to sleep he would stop breathing. He made me promise that I would watch him and nudge him when he stopped breathing, and this went on all night. I couldn't sleep a minute and I spent the whole time trying to communicate to the nurses that he needed oxygen. Finally they took a reading and discovered that he really was in trouble and they got him a mask, but I was up all night and thought that there was no way that I could go off and leave him alone while I went to a different hospital (Bumrungrad) and have my breast augmentation. But by morning he was doing a bit better and so I caught a Taxi from one hospital to another and I arrived at Bumrungrad at 7am. I was met by "Rachel" or the 'Aussie Chick' that helps people having surgery in Bangkok. She met me and took me up to the appointment. I should say at this point that this hospital was amazing. It was like a 5star hotel and it was run so efficiently that there was no waiting around. Everyone spoke excellent english that I came across and there were no waiting rooms full of a hundred people. In fact it is all very discreet and private. I saw the PS- Dr Preeyaphas straight away and he was lovely. Thorough and funny, he really gave me confidence. I instantly knew that I had found the right PS. I showed him my friend on here, "Mrs B"'s photos and said that I wanted a similar look (she was his patient so he remembered her). He told me that I could have 500cc Mod profile. He even said that 550cc would be fine but I chickened out of that! I asked if he could remove a mole at the same time and he did that free of charge. So I went off, paid m account and had an x-ray then was prepped for surgery. I was wheeled into surgery and I started to shake from nerves. Then the warmth of the drugs seeped in and I felt lovely and sleepy.... then I woke up with pain that I couldn't pin point because I was too sleepy. I moaned and they gave me pain meds. Then I woke up and was taken to my room. They bought some dinner... Roast Chicken and vegetables. I knew that eating would help to get the pain meds out of my system so I ate the whole thing! All by myself, I sawed through the meat with a butter knife and ate all the food, dessert and all! 1-2hours out of surgery and I felt fine! I got up by myself and went to the bathroom a couple times. Then I fell asleep, and awoke with Rachel (my helper) in the room- she had been over at Yanhee hospital helping my husband. I felt fine and didn't need any pain meds. I couldn't believe how good I felt. I felt a bit achey and stiff, like when your milk comes in when you have a baby, but not really in pain. Just discomfort. Maybe my empty skin was working in my favour! I had 500cc Mods Under the muscle, mentor cohesive gel. Crease insicion. I was so happy, I didn't sleep very well that night, I kept waking up and watching the pay/tv big screen tv that they had at the end of the bed!! Haha, I watched all kinds of shows and movies because I couldn't sleep. In the morning the PS came and unwrapped them for the first time. They didn't look all that big, but I was pleased with them, knowing that they look smaller at first. I was given the 'strap' and discharged in the afternoon, so 30hrs after surgery I think. Rachel picked me up and took me to my husband who was being discharged from Yanhee too. It was pouring with rain in peak-hour traffic in BAngkok. I was SO glad that we had Rachel helping us at this point!! She took us both home to her amazing apartment and we had dinner and slept. I was off pain meds and feeling great by this point. I was ready to shop up a storm! Which I did day 3 (the next day) I had trickles of sweat down my cleavage but I was loving it in the markets. Drinking straight from the coconut with a straw! The next week was amazing and Rachel showed us the best of Bangkok. The best food, people, sights and shopping. Oh, and just so you dont think that I have some high pain threshold and thats why the recovery was so good.... let me tell you.... I had 'ZOOM' laser teeth whitening done while I was there, and it was one of the most painful thing I have done willingly to myself!! It was like nerve pain firing in my mouth for the rest of the day, and I wanted to die!! HAHA, it was WORSE than my breast augmentation, by about 100x!!! So my advice, skip the teeth whitening, but get the BOOBS! I am 11 days out now, and back home in Australia. I love them like they have always been mine.... Everythings better with boobs

Hello! I wanted to thank you for sharing your story. I live in Japan currently and am planning to have a breast augmentation done at Bumrungrad in Feb 2010. I have questions if you don't mind. Do they have a selection when it comes to silicone implants? I have been researching the "form stable" implants, the ones called "gummy bears", and I don't think they have them in Thailand. Any tips or advice you would like to share?
