FedEx lost my boobs!

Had my breast augmentation 5 days ago and so far so good. Just wanted to share my experience, kinda funny actually.

I was told to be at the clinic at 8am for 9am surgery. Got there 15 mins early & the nurse comes out and says "did you get a call from us?" I tell her no, why? She says "well, your doctor won't be here until 10". She doesn't give me a reason, so I just assumed it was a scheduling mix up, no prob. I offer to come back later & she says no, come with me. They bring me in to pre-op and slowly start getting me ready, changed into a gown, start an IV & fluids, filling out paperwork, etc. Then the anesthesiologist comes in about 9:30 & says "so did you hear if they found your implants yet?" I thought he was kidding at first...but soon found out he wasn't. Turns out the clinic had been frantically trying to track down my implants all weekend, FedEx claimed they were delivered but the clinic didn't have them. WTF? Then my MD comes in and tells me that the mentor rep is trying to locate replacements & if none are found we will need to reschedule the surgery. I think I actually handled it well, all I could do was laugh on the outside...but inside I'm thinking "ok, this is a sign. I'm not supposed to do this". Anyway, for about an hour I'm thinking this is not gonna happen today or ever for me. Then lo & behold about 10:30 a nurse comes in and announces that the rep has delivered the replacements & surgery will proceed! After that things happened pretty quickly...they gave me antiemetics & Versed IV, wheeled me into OR, I was asking a nurse what kind of music they were gonna play & felt a slight burning up my arm. I knew from the posts that this was the propofol...next thing I knew I heard "wake up" and it was 1:45 in the recovery room. They sat me up in bed for a few. I felt good, no nausea thank goodness and very little pain. They didn't even have me pee-they brought my hubby in, I got up into a wheel chair and out to the curb I went. Pain was pretty intense for the first 24 hours...definitely took my pain meds every 3-4 hours & needed help getting up out of bed (slept elevated on 4 pillows for the first 4 nights). Anyways, my surgery was Monday and Wednesday a.m. my hubby decides he's gonna be a complete unhelpful tool (whatever-I don't even want to get into it here) so I kicked his *ss out and have pretty much been taking care of myself since. I did have someone drive me to my f/u appt on Friday tho. So far so good...doc says the left one gave her some problems and we're worried about it bottoming out. I'm doing my massages 8 times/day & wearing an underwire 24/7 for a month. I took some before pics, then my camera broke, so hopefully I'll get ahold of a camera for after pics soon. Oh, and I was a 36A pre and right now am wearing a 36C. Perfect-just what I hoped for. I have no bruising & am on minimal pain meds (XS Tylenol a few a day). I went for an hour walk today and it felt great. Good luck to all you October girls.

OMG!! Fed-Ex lost your implants?!?! That is funny!!

Even though I'm sure it wasn't too funny at the time. So glad to hear everything else went smoothly and that your feeling better. Sorry your hubby was such a jerk. Mine KNOWS BETTER than to try to pull something like that with me. No boobs for him!

OMG sorry but ya that is funny! I mean can you just see that driver getting told by his boss he lost implants. Or the person who did get your package opening it to find them.

Congrats though on your new girls and glad things went and are going good.

OMG that is crazy. I'm so glad they got replacements for u. Sorry about the husband but now u have great boobs. Congrats!

Glad that everything worked out in the end. LOL at the person who accidentally receives your lost implants. Sounds like you handled it so well, not sure I could have. Thank you for sharing and happy healing!
