![]() | I've Got Boobs!!!!!!
I originally had my BA and Lipo to the tummy area scheduled for Friday, Oct. 2nd. I scheduled it for a Friday because I have two little boys and I did not want to have to worry about getting one to preschool and the other to 1st grade at two different schools the day after surgery. Anyway, my husband took the day off work to take me to the surgery center and my Mom took that day off and the following week off for vacation so my husband could go back to work. (My Mom was a great help) My surgery was scheduled for 7:30 am which was great because I am a person who needs food in the mornings!! I could not believe my ears when my cell phone rang the Monday before my scheduled BA. The nurse told me that they needed to reschedule my surgery because the plastic surgeon had to travel to Canada because his father had passed away! OMG!! I immediately thought, NO WAY, I already have this whole thing planned out, Friday is my day!! Then I felt horrible for thinking that because the poor Surgeon's father has passed away and I am just worried about rescheduling my surgery!! So my new date was Tuesday, Oct. 6th. I was told to be at the surgery center at 12:30 pm and surgery was scheduled for 1:30pm. They, of course, told me not to have anything to eat or drink after midnight. The whole day on Monday I kept thinking "What if it was a sign that I should not do this because it had to be rescheduled" and all kinds of stupid things like that. On Tuesday morning I went ahead and took my two little boys to school like any other day of the week. I did not tell them anything about the surgery. I told my Mom to tell them in the afternoon that I was not feeling well and that their Daddy took me to the Dr. Just the thought of not being able to eat or drink all morning was horrible. That is all I could think about. I was so thirsty and I just tried to keep myself busy by getting my boy's clothes ready for the next day and all that extra stuff so my Mom would not have to think about doing too many other things rather than making sure my boys were taken care of. At about 11:30 I took my shower and washed with the dial soap as directed and tried to make my hair look decent. We only live about 15 minutes from the Surgery center so we arrived there about 12:15 pm. I filled out some paperwork and waited for them to call me back. My husband ran to the convenient store to get a drink and he got back to the surgery center before they called me back. They had me change into a gown and I had to take everything off, even my underwear because they were doing lipo to my tummy area. Oh, I did get to keep my socks on! The nurse was so nice and she got the IV on the first try. She took my blood pressure and it was actually 114 over 70. She said I had the blood pressure of a 20 yr old. (I will be 40 at the end of Oct.) So that made me feel good. They let me husband come back and wait with me until the Dr. arrived. Remember I have not had anything to eat or drink forever and the nurse pops her head in and says the Dr. called and is running about 40 minutes late!! YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!!! I told the nurse I may not need the lipo because I have probably lost 10 lbs from straving myself!! She thought it was funny, I didn't!! So as we wait for the Dr. to show, I am driving my poor husband crazy because I am going back and forth from worring about waking up in tons of pain, having huge tits, not waking up at all!! Finally the Dr. comes in and marks me up, makes tons of marks on my stomach, boobs , everywhere. Before I knew it the anastesologist comes in and asks a few questions. I gave my husband a kiss and they started wheeling me down the hall. I got teary eyed and said "Please make me wake up, I have two little boys at home". He matter of factly said "It's my job to put you to sleep and it's my job to wake you up!" I was thinking to myself "You are an ass" and that's the last thing I remembered before I woke up in recovery. I felt like I was asleep for like 2 minutes. The Dr. was there and told me I did great. The nurse asked me if I was in any pain. I was not in any pain at all. I could not believe it. NO PAIN!! They gave me crackers and ginger ale and I kept that down fine so they went and got my husband and the nurse pulled down the blanket and showed him my new boobs!!!! The Dr. told my husband that they did more contouring on my stomach than lipo (whatever that means, all I know is that I look like I am about 4 months pregnant from bloating and swelling. I think my boobs would look bigger if my stomach wasn't so huge!!) Anyway, on the car ride home I started feeling like I could get sick. When we got home I threw up twice and then felt great. I had some soup and water and took pain meds and went to sleep. I never ever felt any pain, just some soreness but it was not bad at all. I did take the ladies advice on here who said to make sure you do not miss your pain meds. I set my alarm clock and took my med even though I was not in pain. (I highly recommend that). I had only one problem. On the second day, I got so sick, I think it may have been from the percocet but I could not keep anything down. I was not in pain at all, just throwing everything up. The nurse called me in the dreaded suppository (Gross I know, but it did the trick) She told me once I used the suppository I would feel better in about 10 minutes and she was right. So ladies, if you need to use a suppository for nausia, do it! I am one week post op today and I can honestly say that it was a piece of cake, no pain. I just hope the swelling from the lipo goes down soon, I hear that it can takes months for that to happen. As far as the BA I got 325cc mod+ which I think I will be a nice C. Send a FR if you would like to see before and after pics. I know this is not the most exciting story but I just want to make sure that all of you ladies that are stressing about your upcoming BA to know that it is alot easier than you think and you will be so happy after!!

![]() | Sounds like you did well
Your ba sounded it like it went well. If you didn't feel much pain, you did very well. I had mine on October 5, at 8:30 am. I wish I had taken pain medication even though I felt well. I didn't feel any pain the first day either, just soreness. But the pain started the next day. I was trying to be strong for my husband (so he didn't freak out)...I shouldn't have done that because I seemed to suffer more for it. I was on ice packs like the whole first 5 days. I can hardly believe that the surgeon was running 40 minutes late though, especially after you already rescheduled once. I can't talk on behalf of the lipo but I had otoplasty (ear pinning) done the same time as my ba. The swelling was completely gone by Sunday. But with lipo that may take quite a bit longer but I'm sure the wait will be worth it. Thanks for sharing your story! ![]() My info: 5'8 120 lbs Pre BA: 30 B- Post BA: unsure, looking like full C/small D Other surgery: Ototplasty Surgery date: 10/5/09 |

Thank you so much for your story. Your sense of humor is similar to mine, so it was funny for me when you were alittle sarcastic. I am so happy to hear that you've had no pain and are doing well. Congratulations!!!!

Thanks for sharing. I wish I could do the tummy tuck and BA right now, but I just can't take the time off from work that is required for a tummy tuck. Plus, my little ones are 19 months and 3, so I still lift them a bunch. So, I guess I'll do my BA now and go back in 2 years to do the tummy tuck. Guess that is good, though. If I don't like my BA size, I can redo then, right? LOL! My BA is scheduled for 12:30, as well. I, too, am not looking forward to no food/water for that long!! Ugh!
