First day with new boobs! Surgery and recovery details...

I have boobs!! Had my surgery yesterday afternoon and thought I’d post a little bit of my story before I forget some details. I took 2 percocet pills this morning for the first time (I’ve been taking only 1 at a time up to this point), so I’m a little more loopy. Hope this makes sense…

Day 1 – THURSDAY (SURGERY DAY)
--------------------------------------

Before surgery
12:15 pm - My surgery was scheduled for 1:40pm, so my boyfriend and I arrived at the hospital at 12:15. As soon as we checked in, the nurse said, “We’re going to be able to get you in sooner, at 1:00”. So that was good, I thought - less time to sit in the waiting room and think and stress about everything. They called me back and I kissed my boyfriend goodbye. I had to take everything off except my socks and put on the gowns/booties (I hear some people get to keep panties on. Not me!). The nurse ran through all the questions with me and talked me through the whole process of what to expect before, during and after surgery. Well, I don’t know why, but I suddenly started crying. I think it was the stress maybe and all the build-up to this day just hit me. The nurse said she would get me some “happy medicine” that would help me relax me. She said it had some amnesia-like effects where I wouldn’t remember things 5 minutes after they happened. I said, “YES, LET’S DO IT!” Ok, so she puts it in my IV and I start to feel dizzy, you know, the room is spinning. And… THAT IS THE LAST THING I REMEMBER. Supposedly, I saw the anesthesiologist and had conversations with people, but I have absolutely no recollection. Not even a fuzzy memory.

Waking up with boobs!
3:30 pm - Next thing I know, the nurse wakes me up in recovery. I feel pressure in my chest, but it’s not unbearable at all. I feel alert and happy. I’m a bit cold – teeth chattering, so she puts a heater under the covers that pumps hot air on me. VERY NICE. I lay there for about an hour, dozing in and out. I catch a few peeks at my new boobs, they’re wrapped tight in an ace bandage and feel like rocks! But they look perfect so far!! The nurse helps me get my underwear and pants on and moves me to a big rolling chair that she pushes to an area near the window. I eat some crackers and drink an entire coke. And it tastes so good!! I haven’t eaten anything since 6pm the night before. At this point I’m almost giddy. I can’t believe how good I feel! Oh, and no nausea at all. I hear the nurses talking in the background about how little pain medicine I’ve needed and how well I’m doing. This makes me feel proud for some reason. Like redemption for having had an epidural when I gave birth to my daughter. For some reason, that experience (the birth of my daughter) had made me feel like I had a low pain tolerance.

Going home
5:00 pm - So they call my boyfriend to come pick me up. I am sooo happy to see him. He asks a bunch of questions to the nurse and then they wheel me to the car. We get home and I feel great! My bf has bought a lot of snacks and rented movies. We end up watching 2 movies (‘Zack and Miri’ and ‘Adventureland’). It hits me while watching the first that I probably won’t be having sex for awhile! We eat polish sausages and cookies. I take another Percocet at 7:45 pm. Also an anti-biotic and a stool softener. No need for nausea meds!!! That makes me very happy because they were $70 to fill the prescription and I didn’t do it.

10:30 pm – I take a Percocet before going to bed. I decide to sleep in bed and just prop the pillows from the couch behind me (the nurse said to sleep at a 20 degree angle). I’m a back-sleeper most of the time so it doesn’t bother me. I’m noticing that I have to be very careful about making sudden arm movements. This seems to be the most painful. My bf sets the alarm for 2:30 am to take more pain meds.

Day 2 – FRIDAY (DAY AFTER SURGERY)
--------------------------------------

2:30 am – Hmmm. Pain is a bit worse and I consider taking 2 percocet. But I stick to the one and wait for the 6:30 am alarm…

6:30 am – Ok, more pain. This time I give in and take 2 percocet and fall back asleep for another hour.

8:00 am – We wake up and my bf makes breakfast before heading to work for a couple of hours. I’m definitely feeling the extra Percocet. It helped the pain, but my head is more clouded, enough so that I don’t really want to answer the phone and have to talk to people. Looking forward to my bf coming home. He has the rest of the day off and I’m excited about laying around with him and being taken care of. It’s not very often that that happens! My post-op is scheduled for 12:00. My PS is going to unwrap me, so I’ll get the first look at the new girls!!

Congrats!! I had almost the same experience pre-surgery as you. They shot that "happy medicine" in my IV, started getting dizzy as they wheeled me into the OR, I moved over to the OR bed, then the next thing I remembered was waking up! I have no idea if I had conversations or anything, I never asked, lol.

Hi all! Well, things are going VERY well so far, better than I could have imagined. Highlights of the past 3 days: I worked the manicure station at a 7 year old's "spa" birthday party, attended my niece's 2nd birthday party, put up Halloween decorations and had sex! Yes, sex. More details...

Day 3 - SATURDAY (2 DAYS AFTER SURGERY)
--------------------------------------------
I went in to see my PS yesterday afternoon (Friday) to get unwrapped for the 1st time. Besides my nipples riding low, they look pretty great. No swelling or bruising. Just very tight and the implants feel like they are in my armpits. He wrapped me back up and told me to take a shower the next day and then leave them unwrapped for a while.

9:00 am - On Saturday morning, I took a shower, unwrapped and let them free for a couple of hours! I took my daughter to her soccer game at 10am (No pain meds yet because I can't drive on them). My ex husband was at the game, so I put on a raincoat to hide my new, free-swinging additions. No one could tell.

11:30 am - By the time I got home at 11:30 am, I was dying for meds. I took a percocet and prepared to take my daughter to her friend's 7th birthday party that starts at 2:00.

2:00 pm - We arrive at the "spa" party and I am assigned to work the manicure station. This is my first time in public with my new boobs - I have them wrapped in the ace bandage and am wearing a shirt that craftily disguises my torpedos. As the party crowd starts to dwindle, I tell my friend about my breast augmentation and how self-conscience I've been the whole time. She says she couldn't tell, but now she is inspired to get the reduction she's always wanted. Nice!

7:00 pm - My BF and I go out to a nice dinner then come home and get to bed early. I don't take any pain meds after 10 pm! And in the morning...

Day 4 - SUNDAY (3 DAYS AFTER SURGERY)
--------------------------------------------
9:00 am - SEX! I totally thought this would take weeks to be able to do. I guess where there's a will, there's a way! I was on top and being careful - we cut the session a bit short because I felt some tugging on my stitches whenever I would tense up. Was able to "finish" though, IYKWIM.

11:00 am - My BF and I head out to do some shopping. I'm in need of a sports bra to minimize the pointy-ness of my chest because I am attending my niece's 2nd birthday party in the afternoon. My whole family will be there and, besides my brother, I haven't told anyone about my breast augmentation. I run into a friend of mine while shopping and she doesn't seem to notice.

4:00 pm - I arrive at the party. I have a size 34 sports bra on which seems to flatten me out a little. First thing my dad says when he sees me, "Wow, you look so good. Have you lost weight? Your waist seems so thin! What kind of workout are you doing?".

Nobody else seems to notice anything. My brother says its not obvious.

7:00 pm - I take my daughter over to her dad's house (my ex-husband) and I do notice him taking a couple looks at my chest. Can he tell? I don't know. Then, I head out to meet my BF and friends for drinks at a sportsbar. My stomach is feeling iffy - I haven't pooped in 4 days, but I've been taking 2 laxatives every day. So, when do you think the laxatives will take effect? How about RIGHT NOW.

I run to the bathroom and let loose.

Day 5 - MONDAY (4 DAYS AFTER SURGERY)
--------------------------------------------
Doing well so far. Haven't taken any pain meds today - maybe I'm done with them for good? It's noon right now and I'm at home working. I work from home as a computer programmer and was supposed to go see a client this morning. I skipped that, since I don't know when my next bathroom incident will happen.

It seems to put me in a bit more of an ease becasue I thought i would be woken up and start screaming from the pain lol one of my friend said it feels like someone ripping something out of your chest so that wasnt to reasuring lol but thanks for your story i hope i fell just as you did!

It seems to put me in a bit more of an ease becasue I thought i would be woken up and start screaming from the pain lol one of my friend said it feels like someone ripping something out of your chest so that wasnt to reasuring lol but thanks for your story i hope i fell just as you did!
