Sorry for those who have been waiting, but finally here is my story.

Dear OH and I left for Sydney at around 6pm on Thursday. Managed to get lost about 6 times and found ourselves without even trying. Checked into the hotel and that was that.

Got up Friday morning feeling good. Not nervous or anxious or anything. Set off to the Day surgery. Filled out a few more forms apon arrival and sat down for no longer than 10mins before a nurse came to take me away. I said my goodbyes to Steve(OH) and off I went with the nurse. They gave me a gown and a robe to put on, and sexy slide on slipper things as well as a hat. I asked about a pre med as I tend to work myself up in hospitals. My anaesthesis was more than happy to give me some valium which took the edge off things. They laid me down on the bed and put a hose thing under the blankets that blew nice warm air. I was that relaxed I found myself nodding off a times! They checked on me often just to see how I felt, then my plastic surgeon stuck his head in and drew the curtain and unzipped his pencil case and said 'its Mr Squiggle time!'. So he drew all over me with a purple texta, then said he'll see me soon and off he went. The anaethisis asistant came and walked me to the operating room. I was helped onto the bed, where they had pre warmed the blankets for me!

The IV was a piece of CAKE! Which was awesome as thats one of the things I was stressing about the most. I was asleep before I knew it and next thing I woke up in recovery. I came to pretty good and they were more than happy with how I progressed, and got me up off the bed and walked me to another room where there were reclining chairs, with juice and bikkies waiting for me. Then one of the lovely nurses made me the BEST cup of tea I have ever had! Steve came in not long after they moved me and the look of relief on his face was damn obvious. He'd been up the road to the pharmacy and got all my drugs! They even let me keep my slippers! ahaha.

Trip home was so much easier than I thought it would be. No pain at all

I woke up the first night at about 4:30am and couldnt breathe properly and in a bit of pain. I actually passed out because i wasnt breathing properly which made poor steve panic a bit. I had my pain meds and was back asleep within half hr.

Things have been pretty good since then. Slight pain but nothing bad, and the bruising down my left side, although tonight it seems the right side near my armpit wants to be a bit sore,


I am strapped up like a mummy! and well over it, but I guess the good thing is that i was allowed to have a shower whenever I wanted, which Steve helped me with last night.

Not much of a story, but you get the idea and I think it can only get better from here on in

YAy! I'm so glad to hear your IV went well. Mine took 4 times to get by 3 different people! Finally they got it, I still have bruises all over from them 2 weeks later! I woke up to some 7up. I'm glad you had a great experience. I did too and I think it makes the results that much sweeter. Thanks for posting, I should post my story too.

I was waiting to hear from you! I'm so happy things turned out well! Those warm blankets are heaven on earth, just reading about brought back cozy memories! I'm so sorry that you fainted I almost fainted when i got up for the first time to head home. I was SO lightheaded that they laid me back down. I'm sure it's not an uncommon thing to happen. Glad you're ok and can't wait to see the unveiling of the twins!

Thanks to you all. I am doing really well!
I have to go to my GP this Friday to get the strapping removed, incisions checked and tapes put back on incision sites, then I go back to my plastic surgeon on the 3rd November.
I still feel a bit woosy and light headed at times, but I think its from the meds more than anything.
Dear OH just brought me home a stawberry milk in his morning tea break! Such a sweetie!

I am just WELL over being bloated and constipated. Working on it though

I managed to do a #2 today! (sorry if too much information) but those who know the feeling will know what I am on about! Feel SOOOOOO much better.

Going to go for a little walk down the river when my dear OH gets home. Just want to get out of the house and get some fresh air!
