Talking Ba 10/23/09

WARNING THIS IS LONG!!!! To start the reason I got a BA was because I was always teased about my small boobies. When I was younger they'd say I had negative A milk duds...and as my siblings developed it just got worse. All I'd hear from the other guys was how HUGE my sisters (twin) boobs were. I was fine with my small size though (still perky and could get cleavage), but it wasn't until AFTER I had my youngest who is now 20 months old that things COMPLETELY changed. I had nice blump breasts when I was nursing (at least a C cub). Then I stopped around 15-16 mo and they completely disappeared....deflated to barely an A. I was totally disgusted with my body. So I made my decision and have NO REGRETS. SO here is my story:

Thursday 10/22/09
The night before. I was really stressing out....so much to do before BA and no time. So some stuff just didn't get done. I went to bed around 11pm and took some valium to help, but don't think it really did. I was having second thoughts as I was showering like why am I doing this? Is this the right thing to do...so on so forth. Kind of held my itty bitties and said good bye! LOL

Friday 10/23/09
Surgery scheduled for 7am and needed to be there at 6:15am...was running late of course since I overslept! My friend called said she was outside and I was still in bed sleeping....oops! So I ran around getting ready....not too much to do since I couldn't put make up on and I was going in my jammies...had to get the little one ready for school though. So we all load up...my daughter, her son and daughter and head to the clinic. We get there about 15 minutes late, but no big deal. I'm giving a gown and pee cup first thing....UNFORTUNATELY I freaking peed before we left the house! What was I thinking? I KNEW I had to pee when I got there, but totally brain farter. But BOY was I SICK to my stomach (nerves/and having a bowl of cereal the night before didn't help). I'm somewhat lactose intolerant....didn't think about that the night before though. So I had to use the bathroom for that but no pee...sigh. She said we couldn't proceed till I did (GREAT!)....afraid I won't get my bobbies done. SO we go through all the paperwork and then she says she'll start the IV and then maybe we can get me to go. But before we do I ask her if I can give it another go. I don't think I've ever been so happy to successfully pee in a cup! Oh and NOT PREGNANT...wooohooo. So go back in the waiting room and the dr. comes in and lines me up....I'm straight and pretty much symmetrical so no issues there. Then before the anestheleoligist (sp?) comes in my stomach freaks on me again and I have to run to the bathroom. I make sure I get it ALL out! Don't want accidents on the operating table.

He talks to me a bit and asks me questions. Says he'll be there the entire time and monitor my stats, etc. Gives me a little bit of happy juice to start (very sneaky about it too), but I could tell something was starting to happen. They bring me back to the surgery room and had the bed all warmed up for me! Of course I try laying down on the wrong side! oops....we are all laughing and having a good ol time though. The staff is just amazing. So I'm gabbing away and I have NO CLUE when I was out....nurse said I was mid sentence...LOL! But said I woke up with a big smile on my face I feel no pain and I'm still gabbing up a storm. The nurse stands me up to start getting ready, etc. I get a little naseous and spit up a bit....she gives me some extra trays to take home.

My friends jaw drops when she walks in and sees me all wrapped up! lol...in a good way though. She wants to get her own. So we drive home and I'm still sleepy so I'm tryng to sleep but still gabbing about everything and how I can't believe I have boobs! The naseau comes in flows and is the WORST part of the recovery. I can't keep anything down and I'm really frustrated. If it wasn't for that I'd be 95%. I tried sleeping on the recliner but my back was killing me. I finally ate some pizza and grapes...threw it up but then finished what I had left and kept it down. I didn't feel naseous after that! I did also try to put ice packs on them every 1hr for about 10 minutes. Went to bed at around 9:30pm (with ice packs) and felt great....was comfortable and slept through te night....woke up to take meds at 12:45am.

TODAY, 10/24/09

Woke up at around 5:30am to use the bathroom and felt great. NO problems getting out of bed or anything. Couldn't get back to sleep since I felt so great. So I started getting ready for my 8am appointment. Made my bed (got scolded by my friend)....then got naseous from all the movement and had to sit down (urggg) damn naseau! Tried to fix my hair best I could (side braid did the trick). Got dressed with JEANS instead of sweats and had my friend put a shirt on (that had lots of buttons, and was stretchy enough to get over my head without having to lift my arms). Put make up on! And had some oatmeal to go.

The car ride made me even more naseous though....had my buckets but no vomiting...YET! Got there a little late again and they took the bandages off. My boobies looked GREAT!!! A bit high, but not freakish at all. The doc was impressed with how well I was feeling, etc. Said the nausea should go away by this evening. Brought my friend in so she could see and she LOVED them....said they were perfect and she wanted some RIGHT THEN! They put the sports bra on and said I could shower today!!!!

Left there and stopped by CVS to get some motion sickness meds and some tylenol exra strength of course the jolt to stop made me loose my breakfast! I needed that though...I'd rather throw up and get it out of my system then feel naseous. Since then I've been home icing and trying to rest...well except getting on here to type this! I'll post pics soon though! Definitely think going to work Monday is NOT going to be a problem

ETA: I wanted to add that they feel sore like I've been working out, but not terrible. A bit heavy, but not as bad as the day of surgery for those who are wondering. I'd say the milk coming in for me was MORE painful!

u know I don't know what I was thinking! I just completely didn't even think about it until it was already too late. The funny part was that I had to go to another bathroom in the house to get tp since I didn't have any in mine and it still didn't trigger. The IV's they give you should get you going if all else fails though

Thanks it is going amazingly well. Even the dr was surprised...of course he said I came out smiling so I think they knew I would be easy The naseau is finally gone and I'm not taking the hydrocodone...I really think that's what was causing it. Other then that I've been just feeling tired more easily....taking more naps. But sleeping hasn't been an issue....I must have the pillows stalked up right!

Thank you I couldn't have imagined a faster recovery then this! I really thought day 2 and day 3 were going to be rough from what I've been reading...but day 1 has been the worst so far because of all the naseau...but now that that's passed I'm doing great. Cleaning house/doing laundry (taking it easy of course) as to not hurt the twins! I even went shopping today....which was great...but after a while of carefully trying on clothes I knew I had to stop.

Girl I'm sure you will be fine!!!! I had my friends scaring me to death telling me it would take weeks for me to recover and how much pain they were in...blah blah blah. I don't see how in the world unless they really had low pain tolerance...although one of them claims she doesn't cause she had 6 natural births....who knows. Everyone is different I guess. DEFINITELY get something for the naseau though. The motion sickness pills helped me...but made me really drowsy. They are going to be shocked when I waltz into work tomorrow just feeling fine and dandy! I would be lying if I didn't say I was going to rub it in their faces a bit....hehehhe. Oh and I forgot to mention he filled mine to 390ccs instead of the 360ccs. So I was VERY happy he overfilled

Isn't it just awful when kids tease each other about that. And it's even worse coming from boys Oh well like you said you won't be hearing that for long. They won't be able to stop staring at them soon! Good luck to you sweetie!

Thanks hun! And as I see your a mother I must tell you that the full/tight feeling you get is exactly the feeling you have when your boobies are full of milk and it's time to nurse. I'd say when the nurse FIRST came in for me was more painful then anything I've experienced with this! So you'll do great.

I always tried to ignore the jokes and just tell them in a nice way to kiss my ass (I didn't swear back them).....but they would drool to see me now! HAHAHAHA. Actually I did have an older guy when I was a junior tell me that I was one of those girls that once I hit my mid twenties that I would blossom and I so think he was right. Even more so now that I got my babies. Oh and DH is totally excited to see them! His first reaction was "DAMN". hehehehehehe.

the shower was wonderful! I felt so nasty from having iodine still stuck to me...of course that had to come off with alcohol....but I was able to blow dry my hair and curl it today so I'm doing awesome. I am so glad I had it easy and I hope everything does too. I took some pics...posting here shortly.
