Sorry about the length, this is the excerpt from my Journal! Thank you all for all of your support! It has helped mo through this more than you could ever know!
Friday, March 9 2007 On this day I had my Consultation. After an hour and a half of talking, we decided on Mentor Moderate Plus Profile 375cc overfill to 410Right/430Left, crease incision, under the muscle. I didn’t set a surgery date. I just keep thinking that it is a lot of money and hubby wants me to wait a couple weeks to see how his commission is coming this month. We want to pay for it up front out of pocket. Wednesday, March 21 2007 Made my Appointment!!!! YEAHHHH!!!!! I made it for April 3rd. Check in at 11AM, Surgery at 12PM, and they said I should be able to leave around 4PM. My Post- Op Check is for April 4th at 2:30PM. I am so excited. My Mother in Law will be staying the week with me and caring for my 2 girls. They are 4 and 15 months. I wont be able to lift Ava (the 15 month old), and she is a real pain when it comes to diaper changes, so I will NEED the help! Sunday, April 1 2007 Today has been a long day. I am so anxious about my upcoming surgery, only 2 more days! I spent most of the morning playing with the girls and trying to spend time with my husband before he leaves today. For those of you who don’t know, my husband is going to be gone for the next 5 nights to Little Rock for work. Surgery is Tuesday, he wont be back till Friday night, but I wont get to see him till Saturday as I am spending Friday night at a Friends house (GIRLS NIGHT OUT..well IN!!!) I am probably a weird one, but I am kind of glad that he wont see me till I am feeling a bit better. My mother in law will be taking me to surgery and staying with me till Saturday. I am mainly glad that she will be there to help me with the girls. My husband can get frustrated easily, and my MIL is so mellow that I think it will be easier for me to relax with her help as opposed to my husbands. It will be hard not to have him here, but he works so much I would have to rely on someone else’s help even if he was in town. It will be hard to be without him, this is longest that we have ever been apart in 8 years. Hopefully I will sleeping the time by..LOL! Monday, April 2 2007 Today was longer than yesterday! I was up till 5AM! I couldn’t fall asleep! It is already Midnight, so technically, my surgery is in 12 hours! I can’t believe that! I am sooo excited and nervous and all that kind of stuff! I am just now fixing to hop on the shower and do the first rub down with the Hibiclens.. Hope it doesn’t stink. Hopefully I will remember to not put on deodorant. Never thought that I would be saying that! Well I am going to finish up my cleaning and Laundry. Hubby said that he would call and wake me up at 7:15AM. So maybe by the time that I wind down I will get about 5 hours of sleep, but heck.. I will have plenty while I am in surgery! Tuesday, April 3 2007 I finally went to bed at about 2AM. I was able to sleep till about 7 this morning. The house is pretty clean, jus finished up some last minute stuff, and took another Hibiclens Shower. FYI: Don’t Shave before using! I learned that last night the hard way. My bikini line was on fire! It burned my armpits and legs also, but Bikini line was by far he worst! Well it was about time for my MIL to get here to pick me and the girls up, when I go a call from my dad from work. He wanted details about surgery, and told me that he was going to come up to the Surgery Center for my Surgery. (I didn’t want him to have to take off of work, that is why I had never asked him.) He said that he would feel a lot better knowing that he is there with me and that he wouldn’t be able to focus on his work with be “Being on a table under a knife” anyways. I was really glad that he ended up coming up there. He and my MIL really got to know each other really well! They are buds now! Anyways… Moving along. We left my house at approx 9:20AM took the girls to stay with my friend Liz, and headed toward the Surgery Center (we are about 60 miles away.) We got there at about 10:40AM, I went upstairs to the Medical Spa and bought my bras and headed back down stairs to check in for surgery. Right when we stepped of the elevator, my Dad was there. I went and checked in. Signed last minute forms, and then at about11:10AM they called my back to a room. They took my weight.. Which was really depressing.. Only 105Lbs. When I got in my room, got my cute little gown and hat.. YUK! I changed, and they soon came in and got my IV started.. This guys was awesome! I never even felt it! My PS came in, talked to me and my family for about 20 minutes, then he marked me. Took more pictures, and said I’ll race you to the O.R.! Then about 5 different people came in introduce themselves one by one and asked LOTS of questions. Gave me antibiotics in the IV, and a anti-nausea patch behind my ear. ( I asked about blurred vision from the patch, and my Anesthesiologist said that it was because people touch them and then later rub their eye and it dilates the pupil and causes the blurred vision.. just another FYI) Then the wonderful man started my favorite cocktail and out I went! According to my Dad, they took my back at 12:20PM and surgery started at 12:30PM. At about 1:45PM he saw them wheel me into the first recovery area. Dr. came inand talked to them and said everything went great. As much as my Dad tried, they would let him look at me from across the room but he couldn’t come in there, he had to wait in my room to see me. (They assigned me a room and my dad and MIL got to stay in there during my surgery.) Well to make it even harder on my dad, he could hear me, and I was crying “I want my Daddy”. I guess that I still get emotional under the anesthetic! I ask for him, and they said not for a bit, so I guess that I thought that if I would give this nurse the stare down that she would take me to him. It worked! It was hard to keep my eyes open to stare, but it worked. When in there, I had the best conversation with my dad, which I DO remember, we both set and cried…a very good Cry. Then I think that I embarrassed him, I was eating cracked before I took my meds, and all the crumbs went down my cleavege and I could lift my arms to get to them, so he had to! LOL! It was hilarious. If my MIL would have been there then she could have, but she knew that we were having a heart to heart so she had left the room. I stayed in Recovery till about 4:10PM. I dressed myself, and wheeled to the car (you have no choice) got in and left. We drove to a Walgreens and they said that it would be AT LEAST 20-30 Minutes for my Rx to be filled. ( By the way, I was prescribed 40 Percocet 10/325, and antibiotics. So we left and I was wanting to buy some lawn chairs, so we went to Lowe’s across the street. I was able to walk around for about 30 minutes no problem. Sometimes I had spasms, but nothing too major. Worst part was trying to open my door, which in turn earned me a good Butt-chewing from my MIL! We left there went and picked up the girls and came home. I have been up and about. I am doing the exercises that my Dr. told me to do Chest is sore, by no means unbearable, but I do get a sharp pain here and there that is a reality check. I was able to eat, I haven’t had any nausea. So far I have had no bruising and minimal swelling, but my shoulders are a bit swollen and back is starting to feel the effects. The hardest thing is trying to pull up my pants! I go to the PS tomorrow for my first Post-Op Check Up., PS said that if I am doing good then on the next day, Thursday, he would allow me to start taking Ibuprofen. I am so excited to get unbound.. till then, I am going to get some ZZZZzzzzzz! Sorry for the book, but this is a excerpt from my journal! |

I really appreciate your entry. I think it is great and I look forward to how you progress as the days go by. I am starting to think one person can't ever write enough because us "sooners" are holding on to every line and thinking about what is ahead for us.
congrats on such a great start, and lucky for you that your family is so supportive of this. I am very happy for you! |

I will try to keep this one breif!
Today (Wednesday) I got up at about 7AM. I didn’t fall asleep till about 3:30AM, I was rather tired, but doing good. We got around and Headed out for the day. We dropped the girls off and went towards Springfield. We did some shopping, not too much, but I needed some last minute Easter stuff and Birthday gifts. After that we went to eat a Cici’s Pizza, (which by the way had some awesome Macaroni and Cheese Pizza!) After that my MIL dropped me off at the PS. It felt sooo good to have them cut that binding off! Nurse asked a few questions, then handed me a notebook and pen, walked over opened the mirrors up and said Im going to leave you alone for a few minutes. Take your time and look and feel them over and write down your questions. When I was done I was to push this Blue button. I did. I really liked that they gave me one on one time with my boobs before I saw the PS, cause I got to look them over closely and then see the PS. Other wise when I got home I would have thought of a million questions! Well I saw the PS, and I have a very large bruise on my left breast. He said that during surgery when he was making the pocket for my implant on the left side, that he swabbed the pocket with something and then was numbing it and it started bruising then. I have to go see him again on Wednesday just in case there is blood pooling. (There isn’t though. The bruise is changing colors like it is starting to heal.) I started wearing the Strap on tonight, I woke up at 5 AM in tears. The Strap HURTS!!! My back, shoulders, armpits and boob hurt bad!!! I hate the strap. After the DR. we went and shopped a little bit more, picked up the girls and came home. We were gone from about 11AM to 7PM. I thought that was pretty good for one day post-OP. The BEST part of the whole day is, I GOT TO TAKE A SHOWER!!! Tuesday night I was soaking myself in deodorant but TODAY, a shower. That made me feel more like a woman than my boobs! I have been doing really good in my opinion. I have only taken 5 percocet to date. I have been taking tylenol and the night that I started the strap I woke up and took a Soma (muscle relaxer) for my back. I do have Fibromyalgia so that is where most of my pain is. Thursday I never left the house, but enjoyed the day and I even got about a 30minute nap in. Friday I got my hair done and went out to see a friend and spent the night with her last night. I refuse to drink and drive. I didnt get much sleep but had alot of fun and got to spend time with a friend that totally supports my decision to have a BA. She was so excited to see them! I didnt think that I would feel so proud and want to show, but I did! LOL!Today I am hurting more than yesterday. I think that I drove too much and cleaned to much the last couple days. This strap is driving me nuts and makes it hurt to breathe very deep. WHen I got home this AM, my hubby finally got to see them.. Bambi and Thumper! THat is what some internet site said their names were. So Lefty is Thumper and Right Is Bambi! Hubby was pretty happy to see them. We both cant wait for another month to pass so the soft and drop some. They have already changed alot in the last couple days. If you want to see pics, PM me and I will send you a link and password. Thanks to all of you who told me about Arnica. My PS said to use the Gel and the oral form of it. Seems to be working. Thanks Again!
