3 weeks post-op... frustrated by the pain still

Hey Ladies,

I'm feeling frustrated today because my boobs still hurt. I'm pretty sure it's nerve pain. I think it's mostly the nipples and just around them, but it gives me the sensation like my boobs are burning from the inside. When I apply a little firm pressure it feels a little better.
Also, one of my incision sites is tender in one spot and I have a little bit of Mondor's cord going on there too.

Frankly... they just hurt. It's not excruciating, but definitely annoying. I'm just ready for them to feel NORMAL and like they are MINE.

The good news is that I bought my first bra today! A 34D "incredible" bra from VS. Man those size D bras look HUGE on the hanger!! I'm used to my bras looking like training bras!!
I'm not technically supposed to be wearing it yet (My PS has me going braless, or with just a cami/shelf-bra for the first 6 weeks. He says it helps the implants to drop into place and you don't want anything holding them "up") but I'm going to Los Angeles on Thursday and I figured I should have a "real" bra just in case I want to wear a "normal" shirt!

Anyway... sorry for being a downer about my boob pain. It's just getting old! I hope it goes away soon!

Hugs to you all!!

I am so sad to hear this. I hope you are feeling better soon. You know, I hurt so much when I don't wear this surgical bra that I cannot hardly IMAGINE going braless. I have washed the surgical bra a few times and during those times I've just got braless and I have to hold myself up as I wander around the house. It hurt!!!! Every PS is different and it's just so strange that some say wear a bra, some say don't, some say keep a band on, etc. Just interesting and seems to have no rhyme or reason. Just venting about that...
Anyway, please take care and continue to rest if you need to. I know you were on Cloud 9 right after surgery so do you think you may have done too much and went back to normal too soon (I know I have no room to talk...).
Chat if you need to!!! Was thinking about you today!

I'm so sorry you are still in pain!! Have you talked to your PS about it? I sometimes still get little pains, but only very rarely, and I'm 12 days out. Glad you got a new bra, I can't wait to go shopping for my first BA bra.

(((u))) Don't worry! I am 5 weeks post-op and JUST this past week started to feel like a normal person again. I cried and cried a week ago. Said I hated them, wish I'd never done it, I feel like crap, I can't even walk without discomfort...blah blah blah. But it's almost as if one day you wake up and it's better, ya know? My skin still feels "sun burned" but not as much, and I still have numbness around the nipples and down to my incision. But it's better!!!!
Hang in there! I'm here if ya need me!

Oh doll , HUGS! It will get better. I am sorry you are still in pain. I was actually still in pain at 3 weeks. It was until about 4 1/2 weeks post-op that I remember waking up and feeling no pain in the morning and for the rest of that whole day. Sure of enough the next morning was the same, no pain. I could sleep anyway I wanted without any difficulty. I am not saying this will be the case with you b/c we do all heal differently, but I do think you are probably on your way to getting there b/c you didnt get large implant that will cause too much stretching. I will however say that even now, out of nowher I will fell a kick of pain, nothing out of the ordinary...and then it will go away as quick as it came. This only happens about once a week though! HTH! Here's to telling that boobie pain to find a new home to dwell in! Hmmmph! Wishing you the best love and sending you my waaaaarmest wishes!

I am so glad I found this blog!
I had my surgery on October 22, 2010 and I still am in pain and refuse to keep taking the pain pills. I take Advil if it gets bad at work and it seems to help. My breast still feel hard and tight. I can't put pressure on them or sleep on them at all. I got a few bras and going from a B to a D is so much fun. I am DD but that will turn into a D. I can't go except nighttime without my bra. My PS says that it is normal to still have pain and I have pain only in 1 breast and the other feels fine. He says that is fine, but it is so annoying. I am just like you ready to feel better and get them to be mine! Hang in there I am right behind you and keep me posted when your pain goes away!

How cool! Thanks for letting me know that you'll be my "neighbor" for a few days!
My daughter is a junior and wants to visit a couple of colleges down there. So we are going to visit Azuza Pacific, Pepperdine and UCLA. (At least my daughter doesn't have expensive taste! LOL) And then we are going to see her boyfriend in a play at his college (he has the lead!) and then go visit Disneyland for 2 days! I'm excited. And the weather is supposed to be beautiful! Yippee!

Now... if only I had some cute tops that fit...

Congrats to you and your daughter! I never went to a 4 year college (or even finished my 2 year) and I only hope and pray that my girls go to school! What a proud momma you must be! I hope that your daughter can get some financial aid or scholarships to make it easier on you and your family. Enjoy the play, Disneyland, and the weather! I will be home recovering from my augmentation! Oh, and there are plenty of little cheap fashion stores for you to pick up some tops!

I never finished my college either. I had my first baby at 18. Went to college for 2 years, got pregnant again, got married (still married!) and had baby #2 at 20. Then when she was 11 months old, got pregnant again! Had all 3 of my kids by the time I was 22!! Needless to say... college got put on the back burner. And now I am 37 and have an 18, 16 and 14 year old!! Yikes!!

Yes... I am immensely proud of my daughter! She is a great kid with big dreams, good friends and great grades. She was just accepted into the National Honor Society, and I am very hopeful that her grades will help with tuition!! Maybe I am living vicariously, but I really want her to be able to go to college wherever she wants as long as she has the grades to get in!

Anyway... Congratulations on your upcoming surgery! I hope you will be recovering well and quickly! I will be thinking of you! You must be SO excited!! Get lots of rest and remember to stay up on you pain meds. Keep us posted!!

My girls just had their 4 week birthday yesterday and I am still having sensitivity - especially in the evening - they seem to get a swollen feeling, but each day gets a little better and I'm sure by the time I see my PS in December I won't have much discomfort at all. Just try to keep a positive attitude and every day they will look and feel better. Hang in there!

I am with you on this one. It took me until my 6th week for the uncomfortable feelings to go away...I was really worried because so many other women were fine after a week! I kept thinking something was wrong. Now, I can sleep however I like, where whatever bra I like. Although, I'm choosing to go braless a lot because my right boob is still holding on...wish it would drop so I didn't have to worry about that...I didn't anticipate all the waiting and worrying!

I'm 2 wks po which I know isn't long but I'm feeling the same! My dr also has me in cami things too! After reading the other ladies comments I now wish I was able to hold them on w/a sports bra!!! I think it just sucks because mentally you're ready to feel good and enjoy the new girls My first few days were easier than I expected so it sucks that the burning nerve pain started later and won't go away. I also have to wear the death strap that kills my sensitive skin and impossible to hide

I hope you start feeling better and more "normal" it's nice to know we aren't in this alone!! I'm sure very soon we will forget about all the pain/hassle we have gone through to get here

OMG! Me too! I'm 2 1/2 weeks post-op and My nipples are still sensitive and they hurts really bad when I'm not wearing bra. My boobs are still hard and doesn't feel like mine.
My PS told me to wear wireless bra till 6 weeks post-op but my crease hurts when I wear regular bra so I'm still wearing soft cotton sports bra type of things.
I want them to feel like mine too.
