How long did your breast stay swollen after BA?

My lefty is still quite a bit more swollen than the right, no redness just swollen and uncomfortable. How long do they stay swollen after surgery? What is considered normal? My boobs are 2 different sizes, if I lean over and look at them the left looks much bigger than the right.

this is encouraging, cause I am so paranoid i have an infection cause my left is so much more swollen than my right but I am only 10 days post op. My swelling is on the upper part of my breast, maybe the leftie still hasnt dropped all the way making it look more swollen too?

If you look at my pics, i stayed swollen for a good 2-3 months. It was not going away, but eventually it subsided.

It's been only 10 days for you and each sides react in a different way. If you have no redness and big pain and would not worry.

I didn't ice my boobs at all. I've been very lazy on that side. I had in mind that my boobs would be ready when they are ready. I didn't rush anything. Time heals everything! But i started to feel at the end that i was going to stay that way!

Mine were swollen for at least a month, probably longer. My left was more swollen that the right and the rightie looked much bigger than the left! Still does look a little bigger, even tho' they measure the same. They are not the same shape. My rightie dropped faster and rounded out more nicely. My right incision healed faster. Why?? I have no idea. PS couldn't tell me, either, and I asked. I accused her (in a nice way) of messing with my left side. She assured me she treated both the same and we had a good chuckle over the difference in boobs and healing. Sunny, try not to compare your two boobs overly much. I know its hard. Let them heal at their own pace. DO keep an eye out for complications, but don't overstress yourself.

I will be away for a day but will check in with you to see how you are dong on Sunday.

Annie

BIG HUGS TO YOU ANNIE, I just love to hear from you. I know that my ps tried to put the 400cc in and it didnt fit so had to use the 350, I just wonder if it was the left side and that why I am soooo much more sore and swollen, there was alot more bruising at the bottom of my left right above the incision. I asked the nurse and she said hmmm and looked in my chart but then never told me. I guess it doesnt really matter now, just need to heal. I just thought that since it is so much different it had to be infected, and then after going through the redness on lefty scare and being put on more antibiotics for it I think I am overly paranoid. I am supposed to go to california on the 28th for my daughters graduation. I CANT have something go wrong, I cant miss that! I know it is out of my hands, I am praying about it for the best. But it isnt hot to touch, isnt red just bigger than the other, and always was when I was pregnant or nursing, left one always got more engorged, more uncomfortable and bigger, so it probably has more breast tisssue and will be a bit bigger no matter what. It is measuring an inch bigger right now. I am 8 on right and 9 on left. Maybe left hasnt dropped all the way too. It is so easy to over think all this!! I am ready to enjoy my boobies and forget all the worries!

I will talk to ya later
Hugs boobie sister!!

My swelling went down between weeks 3 and 4... they didnt look swollen, but the size went down at that time, BUT they got bigger again between months 3 and 4 ,

Most women are swollen for at least a month. It's not unusual to still have some swelling at 6 to 8 weeks post-op.
