Can you massage too much?

I have a cheat sheet from the PS that shows the massage technique he wants me to do, basically push them together to make cleavage, lightly press implants in between breast, and squeeze the implant up from the bottom of my breast...it says to do these at least 3 times a day for 3-5 at a time and I'm wondering if its possible to do it too much? or the more you do it the better? I'm really just loving my breast now and can't keep my hands off of them!

I'm totally guilty of not massaging at all!! My PS never told me to..But I think that as long as you don't put yourself into any pain you're alright..Keep touching the beautiful new boobies girl!!!

There is a thing as too much massaging - it can end up over-stretching your pocket. However, you'd have to be pretty rough and do it a lot for that to happen.

I think it depends on how many days post-op you are and if you have any residual swelling. I massaged the heck out of mine (trying to get rid off cc) and they ended up very red, angry, and swollen at the bottom. And I mean like ripples of swelling. I got lectured for massaging them too much. I was about 3 weeks post-op then.

It sounds like you're doing exactly what your PS told you, and doesn't seem excessive. But to answer your question generally speaking, yes, there is such thing as massaging too much. I say this because I went to my 2 week Post Op visit today and my surgeon warned me of this, because he knows I am frustrated with the healing process. Definitely consult your PS, but my advice would be, if it ain't broke - don't fix it.

I just got my "massage" instructions today. Why do they call it massage? It's more like squeezing & pressing! I was told 3 reps of each, 3 times a day. I too have been going a little bit beyond and am kinda sore. Stick to the protocol.

I have been wondering this too! I am day 4 post op and I was told on Day 2 that I should start squeezing them together on Day 3, 4 times a day for 35 seconds each time. It feels good to do that because it takes some of the pressure away, so I have done it maybe 5 or 6 times a day. I am going to ask my PS on Tuesday if that's bad or not. He told me the more you do it, the softer the silicone gets. But I will ask again and post what he tells me!!!

I've noticed the more I do it, the softer and more comfortable "they" feel. I am probably doing it 3 times a day. Sometimes I forget, and sometimes I do it for 20 mins at a time!

I was told to massage twice a day for about 5-15 minutes on each side. I asked if it was alright to do it more than that. I was told that would be fine, just as long as I wasn't massaging 100 times a day. Those were the exact words... so whatever that means? Maybe an exaggerated way of saying, "Don't massage too much."

I always feel better after massaging them! I do it a little more than the minimum. Tonight I have been more than normal. I did too much at work, and feel like I need to massage them back to the way they were before I went to work!!
