not feeling good and sad

It is day 4 (including breast augmentation day) and I am still not feeling well. I wake up and feel plain yucky, kind of sick to my stomach and a headache. Not much of an appetite even thought I am forcing myself to eat. Yesterday and all day today I have felt this way. So, I quit taking my prescription meds and am taking advil every 4 hours. My boobs are still high and tight, tender, but seem to be a little better every day. I am just getting very weepy and depressed, almost wishing I hadn't done this. I am sure this feeling will pass, but when? I don't even feel like going anywhere. Luckily my dh is understanding, but I feel like my mom wants to say "I told you so." even though she hasn't. Sorry for venting, but I need to get it out. Also, my 4 year old (who is very strong willed and demanding) is having a very difficult time with mommy not feeling well and she is giving my dh a very hard time.
I just can't wait until I feel normal!

You'll feel better soon, I remember feeling very low and at times questioning why I put myself thru this...day 7 was a magical day for me, the aches seem to subside drastically, my tummy ache went, and I felt like I was coming thru the past week, hang in there hun x

It honestly will ease up very soon.

Each week will be a huge improvement on the previous one.

Hang in there - this is all perfectly normal. Just keep reminding yourself about the end result remind yourself that it is all worth it !

ps congratulations

I swear, I remember posting a message just like this when I was about 3-4 days post op. I felt the same way. Sore, tired, weepy, frustrated, etc.. Everyone told me it would get better and low and behold...it did! I noticed a real difference around 5 days out and then from there every day I felt better than the day before. Now at almost 3 weeks PO I feel great but still not normal. But I know that will come with time. Just hang in there and trust that it will get better. Good luck!

Physically it hasn't been such a drag for me, but I can relate somewhat to how you're feeling mentally. I've been up and down a lot over the past two weeks, but it is getting better, and I'm certain that it will for you, too. I hope you start feeling better very soon. <3

I am sorry you are feeling down.......Today is day 5 for me Yesterday I was arguing with my DH and we rarely fight. I had been crying and VERY sensitive to everything he said even though he was being a sweetheart. Well....I went into the bedroom and fired up the digital camera and looked at my before pics. Then I went to my closet and found all the tops I had that I could step into or button up and tried on a few....then I tried on my bikini tops. YUPPPPP....I came out of the master bedroom feeling like a PRINCESS with a new attitude. It was my little pick me up! That and taking a shower, putting on some lipgloss and a little perfume had me feeling normal.....well normal with GREAT BOOBS and a little pain!

I say this all because I hope you can find what will be your positive thing to do to remind yourself why you did this!

EVERYDAY gets better and we PROMISE you will feel MUCH better in the coming days. That is the great thing about this forum, you can share and talk to so many women who have "been there done that" or " about to go there and just as scared". Out DHs, mothers and well meaning friends and family just don't get it unless they have been through it.

CHIN UP!!! Stay strong and STAY BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PS.....if they are really sore....try icing them for a little while!! it helps lots!!

Fashionknockout will become famous soon enough
Like you said, it will pass hon.
I started feeling significantly better 1 week post-op,
and I began to feel somewhat like myself at 2 weeks post-op.
Did your ps say you could take advil?
I would check with him first because advil is a blood thiner.
My ps recommended tylenol if I didn't want to take my prescription drugs.
I hope you feel better real soon sweety, and don't worry,
it's going to feel worth it real soon too.

I felt the SAME way. But actually, if you don't need those hard pain meds, don't take um. THAT STUFF really kicked my butt. I felt irritated and flat and damned near depressed. I kept taking the muscle relaxers for another day, but those pain meds DO cause people to feel that way. Hang in there you're actually almost about to be over that.. by day 5 I was MUCH better.

I am eight days post op and went through this as well. Around day four to about day six/seven I felt very sad about my physical state and just wanted to be me again. It passes. Today I feel better. I also experienced pounding headaches. It passed also. My dr. warned me this could happen so I was not at all surprised when it hit. Just hang in there. I have two little ones (six and four) who are ready to have mommy back, as yours is. Be patient with yourself and try to remember these feelings are normal and will be gone soon!!!

Thanks. Mine are also 6 and 4. My 4 year old wears her feelings on her sleeves so her reaction is more apparent. My 6 year old is pretty happy go lucky, but I am sure she is a little worried. I am glad to know I am not alone and that you are feeling better!

I too felt upset, and I cried because i just wanted to play and run around with my boys. My husband was a great help. I really started feeling like myself after 2 weeks after my breast augmentation. When I could do more things. Hang in there it will take some time, but you'll feel great again soon!!

Sorry you're dealing with the boobie blues! Hopefully, it won't last long and you will be feeling more like yourself soon! Then you'll look back on this time and think it went by quick. I'm sure it doesn't seem like that now but soon you'll be the one encouraging someone else who it going through the same time.

It will get better. I had mine the day before you. I was crying sat. I can't even tell you why. My hubby helped me with my first shower and strapped me back in. I felt better. Each day, I know, I will be feeling better as long as I do what I am supposed to do. I keep telling myself that. Chin up
