What did you use on your scars?

Hey Tina (Dragonomine), I'm sorta new to the site and I just got my breast augmentation done on 7/17. I was wondering how your post-op pics look so normal so soon. My PS told me that it will be 8 months before mine look "normal". Right now they are high on my chest and not very boobilicious. I am a bit taller than you and a bit heavier but I had the same size implants also submuscular...

I had my stitches out yesterday and my nurse told me not to put anything on my scars, b/c she said then they would stay too moist, and the top layer of skin might start to come apart. she said, nothing, to 'let them dry out', has anyone else heard of this?

I placed them over the incisions and it did seem to help. I also used Neosporin Scar Solution. All the best, Cheistine

I am about 5 months post op and I have been using mederma. It works great for scars as well as stretch marks if you may have some (I got a lot and after a few weeks of using it, its already making a huge difference)

Mederma, but gonna try bio oil at Walgreens, Had areola inscions, 9 weeks out and scars are looking great!

My doctor told me to use Dermatix (a silicone gel). I have not been very good about using it regularly though, so not sure how much of a difference it's made. I am 5 months post-op and my scars are still pretty dark - my biggest distress! I was ASSURED that they would fade to invisible scratches.... still waiting ho-hum....

I used Neosporin Silicone Scar strips for a bit and didn't notice too much of a difference. I've also been using Mederma since a few months after my breast augmentation and my scars are definitely looking nice.... but they're obviously still visible.

Though I really think if I Didn't use anything they might still look the same today.

I have tried a few things, but feel like the most effective is Dr. Blaine's complete scar care. It comes as a thick silicone pad. You cut out a rectangular strip that will leave a 1/4 inch margin in all directions. I have been wearing it virtually 24/7 for 2 weeks and the scars have lightened up a lot. previously i tried mederma, Neosporin silicone strips, Kelocote, and scargel without noticeable benefit, so I am very happy to find something that works.

I know what you mean, I have used just about everything out there relentlessly for the crease scars from my 2nd breast augmentation back in Dec 2005. They are still there, I guess that those scars never really go away like the ones on the areola, they just get lighter and flatter.

I am a lazy sod when it comes to things like this so basically my good intentions fell by the way side. The only thing i ever used was E45 cream for a while.

i am so happy to have new boobs i don't really mind the scar.

Mine are still healing well and i am a great believer in letting my body do it's own thing (that'll be the lazy sod thing i referred too earlier).

what will be will be and all that jazz.

My ps told me that the only thing that is scientific proved that really helps with scars is a silicone type of tape. I bought i have been using for a couple days, i think it s too early to notice something, but it s very expensive it was 35 bucks just for one sheet.

I used neosporin after my steri strips were removed.
I now use Mederma, shea butter, and cocoa butter. No one else notices my scars.

While my PS doesn't recommend anything for scars, I tried silicone scar sheets after reading the posts here. When they were gone I used a cuticle oil I had in the house. I've come to believe that it helps to keep the scars moist. That said, I now use Palmers body oil which contains vitamin E and other ingredients on both my TT ans breast augmentation scars. All of which are now flat.
