I used emu oil on mine for a few weeks post-op. Not sure if it helped or not but my scars are smooth and not noticeable. I gotta find my link to where I buy it... http://www.gardenofwisdom.com/catalo...07/3778603.htm |

I've been using Bio Oil on my breast augmentation scars and some others. It seems to have helped my 2.5 year old c-section scar even. I bought mine from Walgreens for about $13.00. I'll let you know if it works on my stretch marks. I haven't been using it on those long enough to know yet.

Haven't used it yet, but I bought the Kelocote from the main webpage. It seemed the most reputable when I chedcked out the websites.

I use Mederma. It is a little pricey (about $20 for a tube that will last 4-6 weeks). My PS recommended Mederma, however he said if I used nothing, then the scars wouldn't be horrible. But, I'm doing everything I can to not get bad scars, so I use it 3-4 times a day (when I remember). On the link, there is a $2.00 off coupon. http://www.mederma.com/ |

I used Bio-oil, I believe that it helped take all of the redness out of my scars. I bought it from e-bay. |

I have been using ScarGuard. When it is gone, I am going to purchase the Bio Oil.

i used the Neosporin scar sheets. after they ran out i havnt used anything except i still put palmers cocoa butter on my boobs & scars everyday. my scars are very noticeable to me when i lift up my boobs. i dont know if the scar sheets helped a little or not. im glad this thread is up b/c ive been thinking about what i can put on my scars but i cant decide. i think my ps's office sells Scargard w/some scar fade stuff too but its like $100 for both. geez, i dont know if i can afford that right now. im afraid to spend the money & it'll suck if it doesnt help..... so hopefully this thread will help me decide what to try next = ) Scargard ladies, how much did you pay for this stuff & do they sell it at the store, ive looked at walgreens & walmart but cant find it??? |

I had areolar incisions and am 4 1/2 months post op now. Mine are still pretty raised and visible, but I guess that's just how I healed because my mom had hers done by the same PS and hers healed beautifully at only 2 months postop. Anyway, my PS recommended ScarGuard. I used that for the first 2 or 3 months or so. For the last month, I rubbed in BioOil, and now I bought some Neosporin Scar Sheets. I found all of this stuff at Walgreens. I haven't seen a huge difference with any of these products.

I use pure Vitamin E oil. Seems to be working well. I also used Neosporin Scar Strips for a couple of months. I've gone through two boxes. I do believe they helped quite a bit. My scars are quite smooth and the red lines are fading. I've used the Vit E on other scars in the past and I believe in it. Had an accident once when I crashed onto pavement from my bicycle (better than getting hit by the car!). I lost a good bit of skin from my face. I used Vit E faithfully and no one would ever know I had a scar unless I point it out. So I'm an "E" fan. Annie |

I don't know what to use either... I use a combination of the following; Dermatix - http://www.dermatix.co.uk/questions_answers/ Bio-oil - http://www.bio-oil.info/en/home My scars are flat and have healed nicely but they are still very red. I think this has more to do with my skin tone though, as I have older scars which are still red ;-( |

![]() | warning about neosporin
FYI on neosporin. I have used it for years on EVERYTHING. MY PS did warn me at my last visit that studies have found MANY people develop allergies to neosporin, therefore, he does not recommend using it AT ALL. I was advised to use Mederma or Curad strips. The Mederma seems to be working well. After only 2 months, I am down to light purple, flat lines. |

![]() | Neosporin Scar Sheets and cocoa butter (which I use on my entire body). I had 2 large scars on my left breast from when the PS had to squeeze fluid out of my infected booby---he left 2 thumb print scrapes; the scars, especially one, were bright red, then purplish red. I think the sheets do wonders. They have worked great on my older breast augmentation crease incision...haven't had the green light to put them on the newer incision yet. But that is what I will do. |
