Abdominal bloating post op 2 days

I had my BA on the 4th and I have bloating as I'd I was on my period. Lots of gas built up inside and I'm sure it's not helping with the comfort factor. How do I get rid of this.

Yeah I think I"m going to stop taking these pain meds. They are making me feel a mess. I get tense on them and my jaw hurts. I need a muscle relaxer if anything. I just need to call my surgeon tomorrow. I have been burping like crazy and have so much gas inside it's not even funny. Reminds me of when I had a csection.

I had to call my surgeon. He says its mainly the loratabs and since the loratabs were making me have anxiety, made me clench my jaws, and muscles that I needed to stop taking it and use extra strength tylenol. Man this is why I hate taking pills. Thanks guys!

It's normal to gain up to 10 lbs of water weight right after surgery because of the medications and trauma from surgery. Constipation can also be a really big problems from the pain meds as well. I got it really bad and was soooo sick for the first 4 or 5 days. It will get better! And the water weight will go away. I could only stay on Vicodin for about 3 days because it bothered my stomach so bad. I took Tylenol a couple of times after that but I didn't really need it. Pain meds do a number on your body.

Congrats on your BA and I hope you get feeling better real soon!

I know some people are turned off to this idea and think it's gross, but try an enema! For the first 3 days of surgery I took stool softeners, on day 3 in the morning I took a laxative, and NOTHING was helping me. I was still gassy and seemed to be getting more bloated by the second. By that night I had my husband go get an enema, and I had IMMEDIATE relief, and in the morning, my bloat was GONE! Ever since that day I've been able to go number 2 on my own and have not bloated back up! Good luck!

I took phazyme for the gas and dulcolax for the release. I was bloated - all better now at just a bit over a week post-op.

Suppositories also work fairly well. If they didn't work, I was going to go the enema route too.

I feel your pain!! I'm 3 days PO, and instead of only coming out of surgery with 2 additions, it's 3. This sucks. I'm drinking alot of water, have taken stool softners and laxitives..nothing. Took a small stroll to see if that would help, and still nothing. Eating clean isn't helping, and so I quess the next is...enema! Ugh

OMG, I am taking Gas X, Depository and nothing but just gas exiting out of my body! I look 4 months pregnant. The bloating bothers me more than my breasts. I may have to try the enema. Urgh. My mother told me about it today and I was about to throw up thinking about it but desperate times calls for desperate measures!!!!

I was also really opposed to the enema/suppository route and my PS recommended Smoothe Move tea instead. An 8 ounce cup of tea (added a little splenda and milk to make it taste better) and WOO-HOO I was feeling good.

Knowing what I know now I would probably start drinking some of that stuff the day before surgery. The pain and discomfort from bloating was by far the worst for me.

I've been regular since day two with the help stool softeners and laxatives. I STILL am hanging on to some upper abdominal bloat and I know I have a flat stomach under there somewhere! So once you are regular, don't be surprised of you still have some bloat after the fact. I've read on here of it taking some.girls 10-14 days to fully lose it. I have to cling to that right now Asparagus and lemon are natural diuretics too so you could always put some lemon in your water and eat some asparagus. The fiber from that would help too.

Ughh! Not looking forward to that. They Natural Remedies Smooth Move tea actually does work. They have a bunch of them like a bloating and a detox tea also. I would definitely try them. I will have them on hand for after my surgery and might take it the day before. Maybe that will help!

I am still bloated but finally the stool softeners kick in. Some achiness in my upper abdominal area but when I burp it feels better. And its making me having problems breathing on top of the pressure I'm getting from boobie already. Urgh. I am so ready for this to be over with! 4 days post op!

I was having the same issues...I am 4 days post op now...saw somewhere on here to take Senokot before bed and it worked!! I feel so much better today! I am still swollen under by breasts in the abdomen area, but I heard this is normal for awhile...but overall I feel much better from taking the all natural Senokot from Walgreens!

I am 7 days post-op from a breast augmentation and areolar lift. I didn't get to go #2 until yesterday and that was without taking any stool softeners, however, my stomach still feels bloated and it looks like I've gained 5 lbs in the stomach...so nasty. I too have muffin top wearing my jeans now...hopefully it goes away because all of my hard work working out for the past 6 months will be a waste then
