Red face How long before I can go braless after my BA?

Hi Ladies!!
So I just had my BA 6 days ago and was wondering if anyone can give me any advice on getting these babies to "drop and fluff"...I took off my sports bra but after seeing several post of other members who say they are still wearing their bras (even to sleep) 11+ days post-op, I'm wondering if Im jumping the gun.
Should I put my bra back on to prevent them from settling all crazy?? or square-ish??

Thanks!!

I haven't had mine yet but in my post-op packet that I received, it said for me to wear a bra at all times (except for showering) for 4-6 weeks, but during my consult my surgeon recommended wearing a bra all the time even at night to keep the implants looking as nice as possible. I guess every doc has a different method.

It really depends on your PS. Some will have you wear a bra 24/7 for a set amount of time, while some (like mine) want you no bra as much as possible. The square look just comes from under the muscle distortion most of the time, not because of wearing a bra or not. I'd call your PS and ask their preference for you!

I haven't had mine yet either, but I would say that to ask your ps what he/she recommends and stick to that. Maybe you could email their office about it.
From reading the forum, different surgeons post op bra wearing instructions can vary greatly.

It depends on your ps. I am still supposed to be bra-less. If I absolutely must wear a bra on occasion, it cannot have any lift or pushup. I cannot wait to wear a pretty bra. (But I do LOVE my big boobies braless in a tank top!)

For 6 weeks I am required to wear a bra. For 4 weeks I'm required to wear a sports bra, after that a non under wire bra until the 6 week mark, then I can start wearing a wired bra. But I can not go without a bra for more than the time it takes to take a shower. Massaging helps with D&F, but a lot of time it's a waiting game, for your muscle to stretch and skin to stretch and loosen it's all a waiting game. Don't be impatient or do anything without consulting your PS first, last thing you want to do is cause yourself to have a complication because you did not consult with your PS first. Every PS has different orders and instructions, so check with your PS!!!!!!!

I guess it depends on your PS, i was told to go braless since day 2. I'm now on my 2nd week and i'm still suppose to avoid bra's. I only wear a sports bra when I'm at work or out running errands( my PS still wanted me to go braless but my nipples stay on all day so we agreed I can wear one if needed when i leave my house) but once I get home its back to being braless. I have to say I think thats what helped me out alot, ive never had the square boob and seem to be recovering fast (atleast according to my PS)

I get to wear a bra 1 week out, but I had to take off my bra about an hour ago and let these puppies breath and it felt great lol! I put it back on though. My second post op is on Wednesday so I will have to ask.

I am part of a small club that must wear an underwire for 5 weeks. Only allowed to take it off when I shower! Though I cheated a little bit and took it off the other night to ummm...enjoy them a little. I am probably too paranoid to take it off more than that. I can wear any underwire including push up. Honestly it feels good to wear a bra, even to bed. The support is nice!

Wait to hear what your PS instructs you to do. My PS told me to go braless for 3 weeks when I went to my first post op visit. I left my surgical bra and strap there because I figured I had no use for it anymore!

It makes you wonder if what type of bra you wear really makes a difference!? It seems like each PS has his or her own recommendations. I wonder if anyone has studied whether the type of bra you wear post-op changes the final outcome.

I just had my 11 day post op appointment this morning, and my doc said to stop wearing the bra completely & go braless for a while (unless I work out or am going to do a day full of walking) so that they can drop. He didn't give me a time frame on how long I shouldn't wear a bra, but I'm assuming I shouldn't wear one until they drop more.

I was suppose to wear a bra 24/7 unless showering for 6 weeks. After that, I was cleared to wear any bra or go braless. I still wear a bra all the time. I like the support and I am hoping that it will prevent them becoming "saggy"!!
