![]() | Feeling Not-so-great!!
HI EVERYBODY It is day 5 for me today and while I am up and on the move I am feeling kindof miserable...my chest is so tight and uncomfortable and i have such a funny head...i am supposed to be returning to work tomorrow,i called in sick today because i didn't think i was ready...i am scared that it is way to soon but i really have no other choice...is it common to have numbness in your hands?i have had it sporatically the past couple of days...i feel drained once i do anything for any length of time...does this feeling last for long?just feeling a little nervous i guess...i hope i have no complications...this has been a stressful enough experience...i don't regret it i am sure i will enjoy my new boobs once i start feeling better...but for lack of better words right now i feel like crap!!!!and speaking of i am still swollen like a balloon....i hate to wish my time away but i wish this next week or two would fly...anyone out there in their 2-4th week feeling great so i know theres hope?lol......thanks for listening... |

you are probably at the worst day if i remember correctly. I think the 4-6 days were the ones where i felt most swollen and tight, it soon subsides but i had 2 weeks off work to recover as i had unders. Do you have an active job? It might be a good idea to take more time off to let your body get under way with healing, particularly if you are on the move a lot. you need lots of rest! | |

Dont worry Danika, the worst is almost over. the first week is really the worst and we all felt like that especially on days 3 - 6. its a mixture of your being post op, i.e. the after effects of the anaesthetic, all the pain meds, the antibiotics [if you got any] ..... and the general sensation of - damn, i was feeling fine a week ago, why did i go and do this to myself? we've been through all those emotions and i can tell you that as soon as you're feeling better and that elephant you feel is sitting on your chest finally rolls off you, you'll start looking at your new boobies and realising just why you did it ![]() i'm not in my 2-4th week, i'm actually in my 8th month but i still play with my boobies and still consider them a novelty and i just cant stop jiggling them around, nor buying new clothes that i can fill out. its such a wonderful feeling after all those years of wearing jeans and loose tops, or skirts. i could never fill out a dress properly and this summer i bought loads of summery frilly dresses to show off my boobies. hold on there, keep your chin up. the worst is over. happy healing and get well soon. sending |

Hi Danika, Sorry you are feeling miserable. I hit a "plateu" at around day 4-5 post op. I feel tons better now at day 13. (I had a TT/breast augmentation/BL/Lipo). Are you taking any pain meds? I still had to take a half of a Vicodin yesterday cause I have some pain. It has really helped me. Hope you feel better real soon.

hang in there.....I know you aren't feeling good at all. Maybe try and think of how nice you'll look next summer! That seems to get me so excited that I kinda forget the pain. This will all be worth it. Have you asked your Dr. about the numbness?

Hey Danika I dont have any answers for you, but wanted to let you know that I'm no further along than you are, so it must be normal LOL I went for my first post-op appointment today and got my tapes off and learned how to massage which really freaked me out and gonna have to figure out how to get through this without cringing LOL but I was exhausted by the time I came home and just got up from a nap. I am taking oxycodone only in the morning and night as well and it still does make me light headed and very tired. I am figuring this is normal and is just our bodies telling us how much to do and not to do, so I'm going with the flow for now. The only thing I can suggest with your job is to try and go in and see what you can do. If it gets to the point where you are too tired or sick during the day, then go home. If you work in a hospital, they should be understanding what a surgery can do to you. Good luck and keep us posted.....just remember you have a breast augmentation buddy here going through the exact same things you are |

HI Dankia, Sorry to hear you feel so bad. A friend of mine told me to use frozen bags of peas under each armpit to relieve the pain. I asked my ps and he said yes that is what he also recommends. I have till Dec 8 before my breast augmentation but I have friends and alot of great women on here with some really good advice... My plan is to try to sleep thru most of it. Ha Ha Keep your chin and do some swim suit window shopping online and think about next summer, it will all be worth it. |

![]() | 2 wks post-op
Hi Danika..I'm 2 wks post-op today and had my surgery done in Halifax at same place as you did..I too felt awful the first week or so but had dramatically improved the past few days..Try not to worry as it will get better..Saw my ps on Monday and he said they look terrific and everything was going very well..Incision cite is still tender but I was told to put polysporin on it and start massaging..I can't believe you're ready to go back to work..I work as a nurse in palliative care so I'm not ready to go back and lift patients... Keep your chin up as I'm sure you'll be very happy by next week... |

Thanks for the welcome Milla...I had 275 cc smooth co gel unders done 2 wks ago..I'm 5'3" 105 lbs and 27" ribcage..I was a 32a and hated how I looked in tanks and swim suits..I didn't want to go too big as it would look to un-natural for my frame...I'm totally happy with the results..Had a mini-TT done end of July..Just skin removal no muscle work and WOW my tummy looks as tight and lean as a 25 yrs old and now I have the Ta Ta's to go with it and I'm 44 with 3 kids 2 grandkids and a wonderful amazing supportive man.. ..Also had lasik eye surgery in June and feel terrific....My only regret is that I should have done this years ago.. Love this forum it's helped me get through everything Last edited by willow; 11-08-2006 at 01:52 PM. |

I am 12 days post op and I have been working since day 7. I get tired easily (I work real hard at my job--on my feet for 8 hours straight). But I am only taking ibuprofen and I make it. SOO it gets better. HTH

HI GUYS thanks for checking in..i just got home from my second day back to work...i am getting through it but i must say i am pretty exhausted....i work in a cafeteria and i am on my feet all day...very tiring...especially after spending as much time as possible relaxing the past week and a half...other then the exhaustion i am feeling a little better,i actually felt a little jiggle today..wow its been a while since i felt that...lol...my chest is not so tight as a couple of days ago....i actually didn't need a boost from my husband to get out of the bed this morning..lol...and morning boob wasn't as painful this morning either...can't wait for that to go away!!!!the worst thing about being back to work is that people who don't know i had surgery come up and give you a smack tot he shoulder or make a grab at you not realizing you are in delicate condition..scary...had a guy today grab me by the arm and haul it back behind my back..i almost freaked...he thought he was jjust tormenting me and i almost panicked!!!i had to tell him to be careful because i had a bad neck....hopefuly that won't happen again...i got a scare...for those of you missed out on my stats i was a 36b and now i have god knows what..lol...i received 400cc's,cgels,under,crease...hopefully i will get a large c baby d out of that...anyways gotta run...thanks for checking in to you all..take care...dana |

![]() | Same Dr?
Hi Guys, I have been all over this site for quite some time now. I will be going for my breast augmentation on Monday August 11 with Dr. Boileau. I couldn't help but notice the word Halifax in one of the responses. I hope you guys are recovery nicely. I'm sending healing thoughts your way. :-) I'm getting a little nervous of the pain. My stats are 5'7 140 pounds, before: 36B and will be getting 400cc's mentor memory gels. Do you any of you folks know what will be prescribed to be for pain meds and for how long? I don't know how i will get any sleep this weekend, with the anticipiation of my breast augmentation! Hen |
